The Biafra civil war has shown that the Igbos are a resilient stock. Though small and less than 25% of Nigeria, both in geographical size, structure and population, the igbos were able to withstand the rest of Nigeria for 30 months. The igbos deserve to be respected.

I once read somewhere that the reason most of the 1966 coupist were Igbos was because about 50% of the foreign trained, certified and commissioned officers in the Armed Forces were Igbos. When companies remit VAT to FIRS, they are processed in two forms. One part is the output VAT, that is what the company collects from FINAL CONSUMER. The other part is INPUT VAT, that is what the company paid to import raw materials, and other purchases to make her products.

When remitting VAT for a period, the company compute her Output VAT and deduct Input VAT, the balance is what is remitted to FIRS.

Let's bring it down to basics. If a company that is resident in Benin imports materials and pays N1b VAT, it is deemed Lagos VAT. as such collections are made at Lagos port. Now, when the company sells the products, it collect VAT from Edo citizens.
The company will now deduct the input VAT ( it was collected in Lagos) from the Output it collected in Edo State, and remits the NET.

So, when NBS or Nairametrics or bloggers go to FIRS site, they will the NET VAT remitted in Edo and tell us Edo is parasiting Lagos. Uniformed and uneducated posters on NL, and other social media platforms will go to market to sell the information they do not understand.

My position has always been that FIRS should make import VAT destination based. What that means is that if a company in Abia imports goods and it lands at Onne Port, FIRS VAT collection form should mandatorily post the VAT as Abia VAT instead of Rivers VAT. Such that when the company takes back the input VAT, the accurate NET VAT collected by Abia is reflected.

Good reason Nigeria needs restructuring. Let SE receive the VAT on imports at Ontsha head bridge and stop paying at Lagos Port, we want to check something. Then, they can also deduct the input from same collections.

Wike NEVER wanted Fubara in 2027, just like Tinubu NEVER wanted Ambode in 2023. Same template, but different regions and different personalities. What worked in SW cannot work in SS, we are different.

THE CRUX OF WIKE FUBARA FEUD:

TINUBU'S TEMPLATE IN RIVERS?
Tinubu groomed Ambode as ant General of Lagos State. A humble, respected and un-ambititios civil servant. Used him to achieve all sorts of financial deals. In return, made him governor. He single-handedly made Ambode governor for ONE-TERM. Tinubu denied Ambode a second term simply because he was not sure a second-term governor would his presidential ambition. So, Ambode's crime was because Tinubu desired to contest 2023 elections, and with a second-term Ambode, baba was not sure Lagos would open her treasury for his campaign. Then what did he do, he checkmate Ambode and brought in a Sanwuolu, who because he would seek a second term would have no option than to do Tinubu's wish.

WIKE'S ATTEMPT
Having studied Tinubu's template and also based on their several meetings abroad, Wike decided to replicate Tinubu's template in Rivers.
Wike groomed Fubara, a humble and unambitiou ant (just like Ambode). Used him to amass wealth and SINGLE-HANDEDLY made him governor. His intent, just like Tinubu was to kick Fubara out in 2027, get a new governor, who would be a willing tool to bankroll his 2031 presidential ambition.

FUBARA VS AMBODE
