Considering your age, the VO may just conclude you are just migrating. If it's possible apply to a school in Europe, you'll stand a better chance. However, if you still want to take your chances with US, apply for a four year nursing program in university or liberal arts college.
Pinky247:
Good day everyone..please i am very new here.
I need guidance and counsel on this issues pls
Am 34 yrs ,i want to apply for usa study visa to a community college for associates of nursing..am choosing this program cos of the time duration which is just 2 years ..

Yes. It'll increase your chances of ission.
EmmanuelBlaze04:
But please, if I do SAT and have a high score, would it help my GPA to any American college? because I learnt that high SAT helps low high school cumulative GPA

If you are using common APP for application, there's room for homeschooled students. That's students without official result from any school. But there are too many schools that aren't ed on common APP. I won't advise you to apply without Waec result. Simply retake the exam and apply. Registration is still on.
EmmanuelBlaze04:
Please I need an answer from any good Samaritan. I know other procedures, from I-20 to DS-160, I have been following this thread for so long and i've gained alot, thanks to those that give their time to answer questions, God will bless you all.
However, what battles me is that when I want to apply to any university, for undergraduate studies, the always require High school cumulative GPA, even for international students, I heard some used WAEC and used WES for the calculation or somehow. My WAEC isn't so good, and my NECO is filled with Bs and Cs. So, my question is, is there any university that'll give me ission if I do ACT/SAT only or language proficiency test only without high school cumulative GPA?
Please anyone that can explain, God shall bless the person

You may not see the emergency link on your cgi again. Wait till you are 60days of your program start date.

Wooow... congrats. When bro?
If one applies for emergency appointment and it gets rejected. Will you have another chance to apply for another one again? Or you just have only one chance?

Send high school results through the school principal or counselor for example annual result of SS1, 2, & 3; Also, send waec transcript. Waec transcript refers to the master list of all candidates who wrote waec in a certain year and their result. Evaluate waec result only if the school instruct you to do so.

Good afternoon guys, please kindly assist... my cousin want to apply for an undergraduate degree in the US and the school is requesting for an official transcript, are we to evaluate the waec result or what?

If you have never request for an emergency appointment on the current visa fee receipt, you don't need to pay another visa fee. There's only one EA on a receipt . Once it's used, you'll need to pay for another visa fee.

With your current appointment, you won't be able to request for an emergency appointment. It seems you have previously cancel an appointment. You'll need to pay another visa fee and pick a new appointment date. When it's 60days to your program start date, request for emergency appointment.

Most credible schools require SAT and high school transcript. If your sister is keen on studying in US, she should write SAT and apply to schools. She should use college board.org to narrow her choice of school and program of study.
Ajaxa:
Please my sister has been to the US twice on visiting visa and returned. Now she just finished her waec and has good grades last year. She intends to study medicine at Bowen university but we also suggest trying F1 visa for her for schools offering medicine in united States, can anyone help with schools that offer medicine for undergraduate. What is her chance of securing the F1 visa. Please advice. She is just 17 years old now.

There's no direct ission into medical school in US. you must complete 4year degree program in any field of study. However, there're specific courses required for medical school that must be completed during undergraduate study. Then, you write MCATexam required for medical school. Medical school takes 4yrs. Next, Residency is 3-5yrs. Even if you have completed 4year degree program in your home country, you can't get direct ission into US medical school.

Congratulations! Thanks and God bless you for this transcript. Don't mind the doubting Thomas.
kekeakinwale:
I give God all the glory , it can only be God.
So I got my 1-20 for fall ission , i applied for emergency date in lagos, but for 1month no reply from them, then I saw a lady here that said she changed from lagos to Abuja and she didnt have to pay for another visa fee,
I quickly ed her, my sister God will bless you,
She reply and took me through how to change and I did, got a date for feb 2022 and then i applied for emergency date and then the wait begins.
When I saw that I might not make it to fall,
I quickly ed my school and explained my issue to them and I needed to defer to spring 2022, and a new update 1- 20 was sent.
Luckily my emergency date was approved and then I picked September 10th 2021.
Now two days to my interview I decided that I didnt to update my ds160 since I was not travelling in August anymore which I need.
Only for me to find out I was not suppose to update it.
I was informed I might not be allowed for the interview.
O my, I was scared, I screamed, then my husband kept saying where is your faith.
Then I also noticed the bar code on my son ds160 and in the appointment confirmation form didnt tally,
O boy I was scared. What do I do, I kept asking God what would you have me do.
Then I proceed to board my flight from Akure to Abuja,
While I was asking God what would you have me do, I went on Instagram and I saw pastor bolaji of NLP saying if you have prayed and it not forth coming, look for a scripture and back it up with your prayer,
I got to my hotel room,
By 12am, I praised God danced and read luke 21 vs 15.
Guess what I did not do any preparation of what I will say, I just told my self that the lord will put in my mouth to say and honestly he did.
6.45am, I left to the embassy I got there I saw I explained my issue to her concerning my son's bar code not tallying , then she helped me to retrieve the old one with 5000naira,
Laughing, something I realised I could do my self .
Any ways I also could not print out my bank statement, I sba went it.
When I got to the place where they will check you, my name and my son's name was seen, at that moment I knew I was getting the visa,
I entered, proceeded to a black man who scanned our port, bar barcode, and then I proceeded for interview.

Selected what? Did you give an honest answer? Well, I just confirmed that appointment Dates has always been available. I think you should send a mail to the team on Monday during working hours.
MisterBeryl:
Good afternoon everyone,
I was denied visa in August, I had to defer to Spring and I just got my updated form I-20. I tried reapplying for a date last night, and was told that there was no date available in Abuja. Before trying to pick a date, there was a place where I was asked if I have been denied within the past 2 months, which I selected. Could that be the reason why I could not pick a date? Or who else is experiencing the same thing?

Congratulations! Clearly written.
bunmisoar:
I give thanks to God for the success of my Interview
My visa was approved on Tues, 7th Sept, 2021 for FALL SESSION. Yes, FALL SESSION.
I learnt a lot from this platform regarding my preparation and my conscience will not let me rest till I post my success story for others to learn from too. I thank everyone here, God bless you for the helpful tips, and by the Grace of The Almighty God, every other person here will testify too. Be relentless, pursue it like your life depends on it, above all, Gods Grace is supreme over all we do.
SO my school, Morgan State University resumed since the 23rd of Aug, with faith, I ed for classes (I didn't make payment though because the school gives so time before payment) and resumed classes online. I made my department aware of my delayed interview and pleaded with them to write an extension letter for me to take along to my interview. My department did, and sent me the letter.
Here's how my interview went: (a black male in his early 40s interviewed me)
FALL 2021
NO FUNDING
VO: Hello good morning
Me: (with a smile) Hello, good morning sir, how are you doing today (be as friendly as possible in your greeting, it will help in reducing the anxiety in you)
VO: your documents
Me: (I gave him port first, then ed my I-20, extension letter, and DS-160)
VO: (as he was collecting the documents) SO why are you going to the US?
Me: I am going there to study. I will be studying my Masters in Public Health at Morgan State University, which is located at Baltimore, Maryland.
VO: I can see from your I-20 that school has resumed
Me: Yes, we resumed two weeks ago, 23rd of Aug. However, i have an extension letter from the school which i have ed to you. I have also begun classes online and I have been actively involved in all class activities. I have also been in frequent communication with the course instructors and they are all aware of my travel delay, i can also show you our conversations (i already printed the email communication between me and my lecturers incase he sked, but he didn't )
VO: So why MSU?
Me: I had the option of 3 schools, New York University, North Carolina University, and Morgan State University. However, my decision to settle with MSU was based on their syllabus. I compared the syllabus of the 3 schools ad I discovered that for NYU and NCU, the ir syllabus is constructed in such a way that at the beginning of the program, the students go right into their areas of specialization, but for MSU, their approach is more holistic and comprehensive. At the beginning of the program, the students do all courses in the 5 core areas on public health, and at second semester, they specialize. I wanted something as comprehensive as that
VO: What will this course do for you?
Me: In the short run, on my return to Nigeria, I will be reabsorbed into my current place of work. I currently work as an assistant health at XYZ hospital, and the management is aware of my plans. They have also agreed to grant me a 2 years study leave. However, in the long run, i have ionately followed the work of several NGOs her in Nigeria. They are doing a great work in the Health Sector her and I have always wanted to be a part of them. The likes of UN, WHO, APIN, E-Health Africa, and many others. I believe that on my return, the certificate and knowledge i would have acquired will give me a leverage and make me more marketable.
VO: I can see you did Geography, so why Public Health
Me: Yes, but my specialization was in Medical Geography
VO: So is Medical Geography same as Public Health?
Me: Yes, it is all about Public Health nd Epidemiology
(at this point, he typed, and I guess to confirm what Medical Geography is on google. He then looked at me and said okay good)
(P.S: if your first degree is not related to what you are going to study now, or the work you are currently doing, look for a way to link it all together. VERY IMPORTANT. I thank God I already prepared for this question)
VO: I can see its a relative that is sponsoring you
Me: Yes, my Uncle
VO: Who is he and what does he do?
Me: He's an established engineer her in Lagos and has his own construction company with over 100 staffs. He is also a Federal Senator (My uncle is a politician, so i made sure i included that)
VO: What is the name of the company? Spell it
ME: A B C D E ( then he kept typing. This man googled the company in my presence then asked me questions)
VO: (looking at the system) where is this company?
Me: it is at XYZ here in Lagos
VO: Good. Anything to show that you and this man are related?
Me: Yes, I have a family photo here with me (though he didn't ask for it)
(Guys, please go prepared!!!)
VO: Why will he be paying this much for your fees?
Me: He has been sponsoring my education since my secondary school and he's just like a father to me.
VO: (began to type oooooooooooooooooo, then he brought out white paper)
VO: I will not be giving your visa now because the extension given by your school is not on your I-20 so...
Me: (i no allow am land o) But i told you i have given you and extension letter from the school and I also ed and resumed classes online and ...
VO: (Him sef no allow me land) Calm down sir, I didn't say I am not approving your visa, see your white paper, I have approved it. However just do one thing. Email your school today, tell them to indicate the extension given to you on your I-20. I will also give you back your port and this white paper. Once the school has updated it, take the updated I-20 and your port to our DHL office at XYZ You don't have to come for another interview. Your visa has been approved!!!
Me: (with all manner of Joy and smile): Thank you sir!!!
(So if your department is giving you an extension letter for resumption, the International Affairs department of your school, send them the letter your department gave you, and tell them to reflect that extension in the remarks section of the I-20)
Shalom!!! Wish you all THE best!!!

I don't think it's a red flag. You already have a good reason to switch schools. Explain your it to the VO. If you have a sponsor that can cover your COA, you are good to go. If you are not in a hurry, look out for schools that can give you funding, reduce your family contribution, or can give you GA. It'll place you in a better spot.

Good day everyone, I need advise and inputs.
Was denied in July for my f1 visa, couldnt find a closer date to reapply so I deferred to spring 2022.
Now I just got a new ission with a new school, same course, but this new school is cheaper in of COA.
The first school COA is about 47k, this new school COA is about 27k. Both didnt give Assistanship.
Is it a good idea to switch schools, is that seen as a red flag?

Hi guys please help. I was suppose to go for my fall start date but I couldn’t meet up due to no availability of dates for visa interviews even getting late dates in emergency. Now I moved it to spring and I am seeing dates of February. And it’s too early to request emergency interview. Are there particular times in the day I can check for closer dates or are there anyone giving out their dates maybe they want to cancel? Or any other help will be appreciated. Thanks
