I'm now a UI student.. I've been itted, but after four attempts..I haven't failled the exam, but couldn't reach the cut off mark, until last year when i ed the cut off with( 4) points above..

Exactly the source of my worry, I've never seen anyone who ed on first trial, and I can't afford to stay at home coz my mates from secondary days will be entering 300 level starting of 2023 in private uni studying medicine

Then I think that your score should get you into their medical college comfortably.
Do they use ssce?

Yes they combine ssce and post utme
I am considering either unijos or LASU based on that particular criterion

What do y'all think about LASU?

I think if you want to play it very very safe, go for unijos, with that your score(if it represents your level of intelligence) then you will be itted.
But if you want the very best and willing to take the risk, then UI, but then that your score will be just an average score there, so you know you will battle it out in post utme against the very best there.
Unijos doesn't organize putme

Start with unijos and end it with unibadan.
Or you can wait and let more people give you better advice.
Ibadan is still one of the most respected school in the country sha, but you can weigh your options through the comments and do your own research too.
Plenty drunkards plenty for nairaland.

Op anyone you choose, let me know so I can waybill palmwine to you for celebration.

UI post utme is the most toughest exam in the world..I had done both UI PPT and cbt,the cbt is hell but with prayer&hardwork,u can surmount it.

How is it compared to jamb?

Tougher or same difficulty?

Well if you consider quality U.I remain the best for MBBS at the moment. But if you consider proximity to home, I'll say Unijos. So far you meet all the necessary cutoffs, UI will it you...no shady deals there. UNN is not an option I'll recommend for you.

I like U.I but don't know to take the risk. I heard their putme is far tougher than jamb and wassce

Where's your location before I answer you?
But state of origin is East
I don't know if to opt for UNN but mbbs students there discourage one from picking the school for that course.

Hello Nairaland, I scored 326 in the just concluded UTME and would love to study medicine and surgery at the prestigious University of Ibadan. I have very shallow idea of the nature of the school's POST UTME and syllabus to read. Please be free to also drop your advices. God bless!

That's what we have been saying since bro... Women don't understand what love is, in respect to a man. It's about status, class and all that to them. Men can fuq, date and marry tomato and kunu sellers but how many graduate women can marry lowkey vulcanizers. This shiit gets worse as she gets more education/money. A unemployed female PHD holder would scorn at an unemployed male BSc holder. She would hint at him not being at her level and I wonder what dafuq is wrong with women. Why does everything have to be transactional or material? I have seen and watched thousands of women since I was born and I tell you this, women don't think like men do. They just can't even think like we do. I was fifteen when I realised that there is nothing like love with women,it's just a lot of libidoic chemicalised mumbo jumbo neurotransmitters BS affecting our decisions.

There is nothing I love more than putting these egoistic women in their places. A self acclaimed feminist came to my house y'day. She saw as everywhere stew in my new crib and she was forming lovey dovey and shit. My dick no even rise. I was just so uninterested. Naso this motivational speaker enter kitchen cook soup finish, packaged some to take home, enter my bathroom took one toilet roll, entered kitchen again poured my palm oil inside nylon bag. Yet this was a babe whose status is always about how broke men are and such? sad

I let her reach my house gate, collected her bag, took my toilet roll, took my palm oil and poured the soup she took into the gutter, called bike for her and bid her goodbye.

Her WhatsApp status that night was full of pain. I enjoyed it. grin

N.B: This is 2021. If she is not a keeper, she is not worth your resources. Let her leave and never look back.

One thing these loud mouthed holes in legs won't understand is that I'm not a nigga you diss and go Scott free, I'm one of the best gentlemen out there but you see when a lady abuses me out of nothing, she becomes a man to me and I'll treat her exactly how I'll treat a fellow man in that position. My gentleman is not GLO UNLIMITED.

Bro, Stop worrying yourself with choice of course to read in a Nigeria University. Just goto school and get a degree. Nobody cares if you graduate with first class or you're a doctor.

That was Nigeria of the past. Even doctor don't have jobs today. If nor of the listed course's isn't given to you. Just find one stress free course and do.

You think say na to go school, and become a doctor or a graduate of first class.

Once you enter that school. Your eye go open. You will be expose to the real side of life.

Na before way degree dey determine person success for Nigeria. Now na hustle.

That is just it. You get the point now?

Yes bro, na why I de get double mind about doctor... I no wan do am because e no go give me time for my hustles...

Well, Nigerian trained Drs are still getting licensed to practice in the UK. Pharmacy is completely useless in the US. Even US trained pharmacist are finding it difficult to get a job. If you are looking at traveling abroad, Nursing is the best option but if you want to practice in Nigeria, MBBS/BDS should be fine.

Yes, I'm quite aware that pharmacy is useless in the US due to automation. However, I'm not planning on going abroad actually. I want to study what will give me the avenue to make cool money in Nigeria. What do you recon I do?

I don’t understand your post, all I’m saying is that it is impossible for a Nigerian trained Dr to practice in the US now. It only going to get worst in the future.

I agree with you that its a bad idea to study MBBS in Nigeria for the sole purpose of going abroad... I aspired for MBBS not knowing that there's actually a course called Pharmacy and now I need wise and practical counsel regarding the better choice...

Remove Yankee from your mind. With MD and DO programs merging residency programs together, it is 99.999999% impossible for a foreign trained medical graduate without Green card/citizenship (This doesn’t help sef) to secure a spot.

I get it alot that MBBS in Nigeria is not worth it. And when I eventually through it I should run abroad... I know that's a very bad idea.

Between Pharmacy and MBBs which should I study.

I can endure stress... But I don't want what I will look back on someday and say "damn, I wasted all those years". I want to earn every income worth every stress and hardwork I input. Please advice me guys!!!

Pls I don't want all those who will flood the thread with "ion talk" coz I have ion for anything that'll enable me to solve problems... The sole reason I ain't going for Engineering is because I can't rely on employer or connections in Nigeria.

And also I don't want all those "study MBBS and leave Nigeria" folks. Leaving Nigeria no be by teeth, people full Yankee wey de compete for MBBS spot and also MDs competing for residency spot in Yankee + going there costs so damn much with heavy Competition.

Anyways I'll love to know which to opt for in Nigeria that will practically secure my future for all the hard work I'll put in.

P.S: this isn't bout money! I don't need school to make money. The internet is a GOLD MINE.
