They don’t require IELTS. The process is straight forward, to get an offer you don’t even need your transcript.

Can I DM you please?

MY TRANSCRIPT
Date: 25-06-2021
Venue/Time: Abuja, 8.30am
Merit Scholarship: $26,000
Deficit of $50,000
Number of attempts: 1st
Status: APPROVED
School: Syracuse University College of Law (SUCOL) New York.

V.O: Good morn(with a warm smile on her face), can I have your port and i20.
Me: Good morn(I gave her port and i20)

V.O: I see you're going to SUCOL for your LL.M
Me: yes ma'am

V.O: which area of law will you specialise
Me: International Environment law and International Human Rights Law

V.O: I see you have a scholarship of $26,000 and deficit of 50,000. Who's paying for the deficit ?
Me: Mr XYZ, my guardian
V.O What do you mean by your guardian, is he your uncle or cousin or immediate family, does he live in Nigeria, what does he do?
Me: No, he's someone from my community who has shown great interest in my education from time immemorial, even during my undergrad days when my mother died. (She nodded). He lives in Nigeria. He's an established business man that deals in automobiles, auto transport and logistics business. I have been under his retainership as the legal representative of his company since after my call to bar. He's also into properties and real estate. As his legal rep, I always conduct due diligence in his real estate deals.

V.O: do you know anybody in the U.S
Me: Yes, I know Mr ABC. (Note: I filled mr Abc in my DS160 as my person upon arrival)

V.O: what's your relationship with him, is he your uncle or cousin
Me: he's a distant relative

VO: what do you mean by that
Me: he's not my immediate family. I met him on facebook and I got to know he's from my hometown and I made arrangement for him to pick me up upon arrival and take me to SUCOL where I'll meet my DSO for documentation..( note, at this point I was almost loosing focus, sweating and stuttering. Anyways, VO nodded after I laboured to give this answer)

V.O: What do you do currently?
Me: I work in Xyzzz law firm as an Associate

V.O: how many years practice experience
Me: 6 years

V.O: what are your duties
Me: Litigation generally, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Legal representation of companies upon retainership, property and real estate

V.O: what aspect of litigation
Me: Civil litigation
VO: (looks suprised) you mean you represent clients in court from inception to judgment?
Me: yes ma

V.O: how many lawyers do you have in your firm
Me: 10 lawyers

V.O: what are your plans after studies in SUCOL, will you return to the firm or are you quitting?
Me: I'll definitely return

V.O (types for a while) I see you got this ission last year and deferred twice.
Me: yes ma'am, because of the pandemic last year.

V.O : I'm going to approve your visa. Take your i20, you'll need it at the POE and there are a lotta restrictions at the POE...blah blah blah

*During the interview I maintained close eye with her especially when she's not typing. I didn't memorize any answers, I made sure my confidence was intact.
Anyway, I struggled a lot to hear her cos she was speaking very fast, so in two occasions I told her to repeat the question. She was quite patient with me.
One thing is, you can't lie to them and get away with it easily, so make sure you stick with whatever you filled in your Ds160. They like to hear that you have work experience too. That was my biggest selling point. She didn't ask me about sponsor's bank statement nor any other documents. I also want to believe that they don't like hearing "uncle or cousin". The reason she emphasized on it in two of my questions.
Note: this whole questions and answers happened under 3-4mins. I also noticed many F1 students were granted visa that day.

V.O's know when someone defers?

I did GRE and TOEFL to bolster my chances and just to have a complete package and prevent stories.
CGPA - 4.26/5.00 (I did not use WES, the school didn't require it and no money...lol... Some made it mandatory though)
GRE - 308
TOEFL - 99 (They accepted my WAEC in lieu before I sat for this exam)

I graduated 2015. It's been long and I was a little rusty, actually very rusty. I studied Agricultural Engineering and worked as a Mechanization Expert so na same line.
I got a professor of interest and he interviewed me and that's it. I did well in the interview and he advised me to apply. That's all.

I guess I also had good SOP and LORs

Thank you for your response bro.

Are there stipends with your GA?

Actually this is my first time of posting on this platform but trust me, I read transcripts, ed transcripts, above all I like comments, that's mostly what I do here.

I got my Visa approved today in Abuja and it was God and preparation. A guy in my front got denied by the lady VO so I was praying I shouldn't get her. I did.

Alot of people, in my opinion, got approved today. I think today is a good day. I was part of the last people at the embassy.

Oh! I saw indaboski today.
.........

US Embassy, Abuja
Status: Approved
GA: $29k
Deficit: $7k

Me: Good Afternoon
V.O: Good Afternoon, me your documents
Me: ed (Hand dry shake as I ed all docs - I20, and all those used for screening)

V.O: Typing... you are going to the University of Arkansas
Me: Yes

V.O: Oh, you've got an assistantship
Me: Yes

V.O: Typing.... checking I20, ha, your sister will be covering your deficit and she stays in the US?
Me: No... She stay in Nigeria ma, and my Dad will be my sponsor. I only use my sister cos my dad was unavailable at the time when I needed to get my I20 out (She actually stays in the US).

V.O: What does your dad do?
Me: He's a business man who specialises in trading oil and gas products.

V.O: Nods, which other school did you apply to?
Me: University of Nebraska, Lincoln and Louisiana State Univeristy ( I applied to only one school)

V.O: What would when you come back to Nigeria?
Me: I'd love to work for multinational organisations such as IITA, Olam, Flour Mills, whose research aid food security as well as consult with the Ministry of Agriculture to help farmers augment thoer yield and increase output (I'm not sure she's listening to all these but I was talking).

V.O: Typing........
Me: When the silence was awkward... I said I'm actually going for Rice Processing...

That's how she just said blablabla......and I heard make sure you pick up your visa........

Omo, I was dumbfounded!!! I just did thank you and left boning. The security thought I got denied but na me know the level of cloud and euphoria that's in me.

Thank to everyone who posts their transcripts, really I learnt alot from you guys, you are the best.

By the way, no one said that we were gonna be interviewed while standing up. Me I've always thought one would sit down.

It didnt last up to 3 - 5Mins

A guy before me got approved.
COA - $45k
Dean's scholarship - $3.5I
I think the fact that he was just talking and confident was enough.

They never requested for bank statement.

Hi, Congratulations!

Please what's your profile?
I mean Did u do WES? Did u write any exam?

Do you mind sharing your CGPA and exam score? I'm interested in the assistantship you got. Did it come with a tuition waiver and stipends?

Do you feel your scores and CGPA (evaluated or not) played the major role in your getting the GA? If not, what did?

Sorry for the 20 questions. I'm weighing my chances with a 4.0/5 (unevaluated) B.Sc Quantity Surveying. no GRE or ielts yet!

Anyone who thinks Trump stands a chance against biden needs to have his or her head checked.
Trump insulted the late War hero and respected republican John McCain of Arizona, the man's widow Cindy McCain was among prominent republican who endorsed biden and urged other republicans to do same..
He insulted Elijah cummings of baltimore and even called his state rat infested.
He insulted uk ambassador to the USA by calling him a very stupid guy.

He called US military soldiers fallen or captured losers.
He called black lives matters protesters Thugs.
He called mexicans rapists and criminals.
He referred to african countries as shitholes.
He called highly respected US general Gen. Colin powell highly overrated.
Called the much loved bernie sanders crazy.
How come republicans accepted the results for senate and house of rep. races but don't accept presidential election results that where cast on the same ballots?

I think he deserves to be a one term president, the american people have spoken through the ballot and I wonder why some dumb Nigerians living here in Nigeria thinks they know better than the american people, good riddance to bad rubbish.

Yet got 71 million votes with significant gains in this category of people you mentioned.

Exactly! with their current range of budget devices, one could proudly attest to using Itel phones. There's quite a lot to brag about now unlike before. They've really up'ed their game

Many here will differ but the facts will speak for themselves.

There was this disquietness bout brandishing your I.tel device in the past sha; not since they improved on the basic things phone buyers want; from a classy, up to date design, to good cameras, to sizable storages and faster internet.

Any Itel phone with the price of 45k will beat all these ones hands down in of longevity, specs wise, durability and performance. Itel S16 pro is the new baby in town. Check other models online too.

Exactly.

Like the P36 pro Lte or the i-tel S16 pro 4G

massive power, lesser tasks, good cameras all round, great displays and a luxury of space.

Same 45k

How many Nigerians can afford high end devices? Certainly less than 10% of the population. What Itel is doing is to capture the large percentage who can't afford those high end phones. If any one doesn't this see as a nice concept and strategy, then, I don't know what to say.

Well, you cannot get everyone to see it as you do for sure.

But the one reality is that the phones are selling, people continue to patronize despite the prolly sponsored attacks on them here on NL.

Just let it slide everytime you see such slander; even Jesus who brought free (not affordable) salvation was crucified.

Exactly

One can't refer to Itel phones as trash. You don't expect it to do what iPhone X can do
But for the price of an S16, I can say it work perfectiy. Someone shared the picture she took with her S16 and it's impressive. The design is beautiful too. I can say the same for S16 pro and A56 pro.

Exactly the song I've been singing on most itel threads where critics come in very critical about their scaled down specs. Affordability essentially means this.

Itel has the capacity to make those high end, high performing devices but that'll be a derailment on their apparent policy trajectory; capture the market around those on the lower end of the income spectrum which are by far the the most populous.

This one and the P33, dunno which one I like best. grin
https://www./mlp-itel-p33-plus/

I love the P33 too

Definitely the the itel Vision 1.

Its specs beats that of the P33; bigger RAM, U and ROM. The display and camera are also better.

Batteries though are on par.

Go for the Vision, I think someone posted a link to amazon india or something.

You're still a kid.......

You're probably not paying any bills and you think most people are gadget or phone freaks....

Most of us don't even use the phone to take pictures but just for calls and email forwarding.....

And kids flaunt phones like it was some assets....While most of us buy lands and more lands....

You need to set your priorities right and learn not to abuse people's opinions simply because you feel your opinion is the best.....

Translation phones aren't high-tech today.....But these products are coming up....Same way Symbian phones got kicked out for android phones.....Transsion phones might just discover better features that will change the entire android system procedures....

You said it all mehn.

I don't know what version of affordable these critics don't understand?

The phones they love are expensive; as we can't afford them, won't settle for already spent used phones, we opt for new, dialled down smartphones from brands like itel - to meet our basic connectivity/ICT, Social needs. Where did we go wrong?

Everything in this world could last with good maintenance habits; so lifespan is individualistic.
They say transsion phones pack up in few months; like WTF? I've seen people use itel phones for 3-4 years.

These dudes are exhausting.

I bought mine today (30,700 at Slot Nigeria) ...so far the experience has been lit. The phone is very slim and lightweighted. The design is too beautiful, maybe like bianca. The camera experience is unusually breathtaking cool

Which one did you get? itel S16, S16 Pro or S16 Pro LTE?

We would've loved a more detailed review seeing you wrote about its sleek design, lightweightness, and Camera prowess.

₦30,700 is a steal for these features mentioned.

How can you compare;

2GB ram (667MHz) to 2GB ram (1.6GHz),

16gig rom to 32GB Rom,

3300mAh to 4000mAh,

5.5" 720 x 1440 pixels to 6.6" 720 x 1600 pixels,

Android 8 to Android 10,

Their camera setups are also world's apart mehn.

The itel S16 pro definitely comes out on top here.

Ps : I also edited picture with ig

I guess itel weren't messing around when they named it the "Selfie phone"

Some crisp imagery mehn. Even though u said you edited it, editing can only do so much if a camera isn't good to start with; except for high level Photoshop though.

A great choice.

Is that your skin or the cam gave you an upgrade?

The S16's camera, battery and screen are it's biggest selling point and your pictures just proved the Cam's capabilities.

You should have watermarked the pictures so dumb critics don't show up here with BS
