Nnamdi Kanu has been released, glasses of champagne has been clicked in the Eastern part of Nigeria and some parts of the Niger Delta that are hell bent on having their own country known as Biafra. Names ( Biafra and IPOB) have turned out to be that proverbial bee that has perches at the Nigeria’s scrotum. Allow the bee,it stings the hell out of the scrotum and kill the bee, it hurts the scrotum. This is the position of Biafra . Orchestrated by the “new kid ” in the block , Nnamdi Kanu. Biafra also has presented a case, how the Negroid or a black man will govern himself without resorting to brute. Some analyst says that Biafra will display the level of logicality in the average Blackman’s mind. With his release now, what is the next step? Will court cases go on as planned? Will there be tons of negotiations and cessations and truce? Questions like these are being asked by watchers.

Nigeria noted to be the biggest black country globally, Biafra will present to the global community how the Blackman reasons either with his gun or with his brains. And the Blackman has sufficiently demonstrated to the world that he prefers reasoning with the latter than the former. ” We will kill everything that walks ” quoted Benjamin Adekunle, during the first Biafra war about half a century ago. And he did exactly that, killed many and he was given a badge if honours, decorated and a Street named after him in Lagos. Though he later died a sad and unfulfilled man. That’s how the Blackman has come to reason.

Then came Nnamdi Kanu, ignored by the former istration and made popular and a legend by the present istration. An international report, but it this way.

“Until recently, Kanu was politely ignored by the outside world. To many Igbos, he was at best an expat dreamer, at worst a rabble- rousing shock jock. Then, after years in which nobody took him seriously, the Nigerian government did just that. During a visit to Nigeria 15 months ago, he was arrested by its feared Department of State Security at a hotel in Lagos,” The Telegraph London.

With the tilted form of development and quest for restructure of the country which have been frowned by some sections of the country has been said to be one of the remote causes of the pursuit of the dreamland by the Majority Christian East and thus, the majority North isn’t finding palatable with the middle belt confused on where and whom to side. Mind you, the middle belt is 60% Christian. So , the quest for Biafra can be attributed to quest for self determination.

This new emergence of Biafra ( not as if the ideology died, it didn’t die ) can be attributed to a culmination of isolationist acts Nigeria has dished (full course and with buffet ) to the Igbo which can be seen from political , infrastructural to and otherwise. Today’s Biafrans must have studied the methodology that their fathers used and improved upon it. And this method seems to be working and the world has taken notice of it.

“Angered by the massacre of tens of thousands of Igbos in the Muslim-dominated north, Biafra formed its own army, produced its own currency, and declared independence. The Igbos, who often describe themselves as the ‘Jews of Africa’, wanted their own Israel. They got something closer to holocaust.” The Telegraph London

In the words of international observer ,Colin Freeman, he captured the essence of Biafra and Nnamdi Kanu road to legend and martyrdom. Presently even deified by the Nigeria government,he said

“It has been nearly 50 years since Biafra’s bitter independence struggle, the inspiration for Frederick Forsyth’s bestselling The Dogs of War. Now a south London DJ currently imprisoned in Nigeria has taken up the battle, and Biafrans are once again fighting – and dying – for the dream of their own country”

The new found love for Biafra by the people of Igbo descent and their southern cousin in Nigeria Delta States have reached a crescendo that the Nigerians federal government can’t afford to ignore and at the same time must find a lasting solution. The lasting solution has always been within their grips, but they prefer looking for it on the mountain top. A clear case of not thinking outside the box. One of the characteristics of the African leadership.

Just like how the average carpenter view every problem solution through a hammer the African government solves everything with brute and force. There can be a clear departure from this and the Biafra issue can be solved seamlessly and simply via economic means .

Well, rumours have been peddled that the Nigerian government is thinking of of allowing the five Igbo states go, though not ascertained . But, if the this is to be true! Then it will be a mistake. The Igbo is known to have this “Igwe by Ike mentality ” a principle of carrying your brother along. I don’t think that the animal Igbo man will be okay staying on his own knowing that he has about 40 million if his brothers across the river or will be comfortable with another tribe rather than his own siblings the Igbo. The same goes with the Rivers state Igbo. So the solution isn’t this. Nigeria as a country has solutions and there is no need to be petrified or develop phobias for Biafra .

Biafra hinges on our ability as a race to solve our internal problem maturely. Though, we must agree that African countries with the exception of Ethiopia are white man creations. We lacked the capacity, then to either from our countries or govern ourselves. We were created and colonised by the whites, but today Nigeria must use this buffer to demonstrate that African man has evolved. Nigeria must demonstrate that African man can solve some political issues without killing. Nigeria must demonstrate that Biafra agitation can be solved via dialogue and not on battle Field. The whole world is looking at Nigeria. The whole world is asking , why is the Blackman like this ? Nigeria shouldn’t give the world the answers they want.

The economic model that can be used to settle the agitation is simple. It boils down to what has been said all this while. Regionalism! It’s as simple as that. Let the Igbo and the whole Igbo speaking tribes come together and have their region where a greater degree if autonomy is given to them. Something akin to confederation or full federation. They will decide on their own type of democratic process, their own flag, anthem, even police . The education and judicial system can be decided by the region. They will run their own internal affairs to a greater degree and pay a stipend to government at the centre but will use Nigerian port and be defended by the Nigerian army. Most of the united countries of the world like the UAE, USA, Canada and even Malaysia run this system. They allow the regions to take their decision and have their internal control mechanism intact. This same goes to every region . Regions should be created according to cultural and ideological beliefs. Then make the centre very weak. The presidency should be rotated and also made powerless . The role of the presidency should be ceremonial while power rest on the region. The presidency ,though ceremonial must be rotated amongst the few regions.

This would have been the best bet for the country ,but will the love of oil and the docility if the North allow the country to take this common sense approach? Time will tell.

Another harsh option is dissolution. It takes guts to do this, but shows maturity. The country can have a bilateral trade agreement between the seceding state. The Biafra can be a client state of Nigeria the way Costa Rica is to USA and Hong Kong to China or Gibraltar to Britain. An arrangement if this kind can be put in place . The agreement will be in visa systems, work and business permits and others. When such agreement is made, there is no need to fret over the issue of Biafra. Because, t just simply means a change of name but not a change of brotherhood or friendship. The agitating and the istrating parties must also look at this option. Ireland isn’t a part of the Britain doesn’t make Irish enemies bro English. They still maintain that oneness and brotherliness. Nigeria must learn from their colonial masters .

The Biafra issue, to me isn’t what should give Nigeria headache unless she sees it as so. There is always a way out of seemingly quagmire only if people can look within and factor a way out. The emergence of Biafra or not shouldn’t be seen as a do or die venture. Both should be seen as an evolutionary trend in the way Blackman reasons. He(Biafran) wants to define his destiny and this must be encouraged. One of the arguments that the Biafrans are putting is to redraw the map of Africa that was drawn for African without their consent. And a cursory look at this narrative, they shouldn’t be faulted but negotiated.

Don't turn this tribal, you know if you want to, I will gladly oblige you.

Yes I quite agree that Yorubas have English names but they hardly bare them as first names. Your grandparents will never even reckon with your English name, no matter how sweet it sounds and no matter how sophisticated they are. Infact, they will take it to the next level by calling you by your unique "oroki" name, which is a special name that is peculiar for eulogising you as a person.

Religion and westernisation or arabicanisation should never make us to lose our identity and be proud of heritage. If you like bear Roseleen or Cassandra or Maureen, and be speaking with English with your nose, you will never be seen as a proper English man, as long as you are black.

Likewise, you can recite the quran in Arabic even in your dreams, it will never make Arabs not to see you as their subjects.

Just be proud of your identity and rep it to blazes.

Which one is worst...First names or surnames.

A lot of Yoruba bear foreign surnames and that is despicable...This you won't find in Igbo land. We can bear first name which is Christian but we can't bear surnames like Tiwa Savage or Bankole Wellington or Idowu Martin's

Prof. Musa Yakubu of University of Ilorin has said that having sex in the early morning lowers blood pressure and reduces risks of heart attack. Yakubu of the Department of Biochemistry made the assertion in a paper, “Knocking Down the Barriers to Four O’Clock Activities and Reproductive Inadequacies”, presented at the 163rd Inaugural lecture of the university on Friday.
He said that having sexual intercourse, three to four times a week, was good for love life. “Research has shown that sex boosts immune system by stimulating the body’s first line of defence and production of immunoglobulin A (IgA), against cold and fever,” he said. immunoglobulin A is one of the most common antibodies in the body system.

Antibodies are proteins made by the immune system to fight bacteria, viruses, and toxins. Yakubu said that sex also regulates menstruation in women by influencing the levels of lutenizing hormones that controls menstrual period and promote better sleep. According to him, the act of sexual intercourse also release the feel-good chemical, known as oxytocin, which enhances closeness with one’s partner and makes people feel happier for a longer period of time.

“Lovemaking of about 20 minutes reduces 150 calories,” he said. The professor of Biochemistry postulated that sex is the most powerful creative force given to human by God for pleasure and deep companionship.

Yakubu, however, noted that any marriage in which the man or woman could not enjoy sexual intercourse or satisfy their partner in bed was a dead marriage. He said that lack of sexual satisfaction had led to the collapse of many marriages in Nigeria, and urged couples to seek for solutions to the problem. “Sexual and reproductive dysfunctions are common among men and women in Nigeria, which necessitates regular screening and check-ups,” he said. He also said that traditional medicines had been authenticated to cure sexual dysfunctions

If I have the opportunity to govern Anambra State, for example, I am 120% certain that I will make such a mark that even the best Anambra State governor will be envious of my achievements. The reason is simple: Anambra State towns and villages have similar values in life. When you start a policy that agrees with their view, most people will you. I will not be afraid of taking radical actions that will move the state forward for fear of not offending some sections. If Anambra were an independent nation, it would be easy to propel it to greatness because the people love excellence and have similar views of life.

This is true of many other states in Nigeria.

But if I get the opportunity to govern Nigeria, I cannot guarantee if I will excel despite all my hard work and good intentions. The reason is simple. With the exception of the gay issue, which Nigerians from North and South as well as Christians and Muslims agree on, there is no other issue Nigerians agree upon. If, for example, I push for restructuring, one section of the country will criticise me, while the other part will hail me. If I push for quota system, one part will hail me, while the other will demonise me. If I push for compulsory education or push for punishment for parents who refuse their children to go to school, one part will ask for my head on a platter, while the other part will applaud me. If I push for religion to be divorced from governance, one section will hail me while the other will condemn me.

Any appointment I make will be x-rayed, dissected and interpreted as pro-East, or pro-South or pro-Christianity or an attempt to please the North or Muslims so that they will like me.

Any action I take to move the country forward and pull it out of mediocrity and retrogression will be resisted by one part of the nation and hailed by the other part. Riots will break out and people will be killed so as to ensure that such policies are not implemented.

If you want peace to reign, you just let the status quo remain. And allowing the status quo to remain is equal to allowing the mediocrity, backwardness, and decay to continue.

So anybody hoping that a leader will emerge one day who will transform Nigeria is living in a fool’s paradise.

Structured as it is today, Nigeria can NEVER progress, no matter the good intentions and efforts of any leader. It is not lack of optimism or a curse but simple reality.

The North and the South have opposite and contrastive values on all issues in life except the gay issue.

Corruption is a big problem in Nigeria but it is not the most critical issue. Interestingly, something is fuelling the corruption as well as the non-patriotism, mediocrity, stagnation, backwardness, laziness, decay, intolerance, constant killings and lack of value for human lives bedevilling the nation. If you want to drastically reduce corruption, you must first kill why is causing it. If we don’t solve the fundamental problem causing the problems, we will continue hoping and praying in vain for some ruler to emerge one day and transform the nation.

Me and You know what they are marketing
Abee79:
So, all those girls twerking day and night on Instagram, and pouting like imbeciles, and revealing their bodies, what are those ones marketing?
tonychristopher: 4:19pm On May 08, 2017
Is your business active on Instagram? Are you leveraging it to build your personal brand? While it was once one of many possible social media platforms to market your product or service, you now need to allocate a large percentage of your social media effort toward it. Instagram is no longer an option — it’s a necessity.

When Mark Zuckerberg acquired Instagram for $1 billion back in April of 2012, many were left scratching their heads, as the app was less than two years old. Looking back, Zuckerberg stole it. It’s now valued at $50 billion, and Instagram’s co-founder and CEO Kevin Systrom is now a billionaire — thanks to the stock’s growth, his estimated net worth went from $280 million to $1.1 billion.

Most social media platforms eventually slow down and some disappear into the sunset. Twitter stock has been a rollercoaster, with the majority of the ride descending, and some networks, like MySpace, are all but distant memories (RIP).

Instagram is a completely different animal — it’s not going anywhere. It’s owned by Facebook, has a massive base that continues to grow and makes money. Instagram’s 2016 ad revenue is estimated to double in 2017. Here are the reasons why it’s time to go all-in with Instagram marketing.

1. Longevity and security thanks to Facebook.
Facebook isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It could very well be worth $1 trillion in the future. It’s such a vital part of this world’s culture that, rather than disappearing, Facebook will continue to evolve and innovate.

What Facebook develops into is yet to be seen, but I can promise you that it will always be around. Since Instagram is owned by Facebook, expect to see them in the picture for the long haul as well. The time and effort you invest into Instagram will not go to waste — think of it as a long-term strategy.

2. Mobile e-commerce sales continue to rise.
BI Intelligence, Business Insider’s research division, predicts that m-commerce will reach $284 billion, or 45 percent of the total U.S. e-commerce market, by 2020. More consumers are now comfortable shopping on their mobile devices, and the number will continue to rise.

Instagram is a visual platform, giving you access to a world-wide audience. One of the most attractive features is Instagram’s advertising targeting, which it shares with Facebook. With it, you can reach any target audience, just like you can on Facebook. Many brands are still counting on organic reach and exposure, but that organic attention will soon get extremely competitive and require a pay-to-play approach. I would highly suggest mastering Instagram paid ads sooner than later.

3. Zuckerberg will stop at nothing to crush Snapchat.
Facebook makes a lot of money and billions of people use it. That’s why Mark Zuckerberg is taking what works and applying those features to all of their platforms — Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram.

Many people say they are copying Snapchat, and they have — four times, to be exact. In fact, Zuckerberg even attempted to buy Snapchat for $3 billion in cash. When Snapchat turned down the offer, he set out to take their s by adapting features that made Snapchat appealing.

He is accomplishing his mission and I would have to think Snapchat is worried, especially since the company doesn’t make money. In fact, they lost $514 million in 2016.

If you are using Snapchat and like it, start playing around with Instagram’s Stories feature. I can see more and more attention migrating from Snapchat to Instagram, so be prepared.

4. Instagram’s experience is top-notch.
Instagram became successful and popular quickly because of its simplicity. Images without the fluff.

Now more than ever, business owners are starting to take notice, but it’s not too late to get in on the action. You can use this guide to help you get started right now.

As someone who has been called a serial entrepreneur, I’ve had more than my fair share of experience starting new enterprises, turning around underperforming enterprises or re-vamping operations.

During that time, I’ve learned a thing or two about some critical factors you absolutely need to know before you jump into the proverbial entrepreneurial waters.

In the majority of cases, start-up success or failure is all about knowing the both the how and the why of taking action, and always being clear about which steps to take next.

To help this process, here are 10 essential things you need to know about running a successful business. Use it as a checklist to make sure your thinking and your business plan are on the right track, or if you need to get more information, strategic education or clarity for yourself on your overall vision, your market, or your product or service.

Offer what people want to buy, not just what you want to sell. Too often, people jump into a business built around a product or service they think will be successful, rather than one that is already proven to have a market. What do I mean?
Instead of creating and selling a new sports shoe with the latest trendy design and materials, you’d be much better off from a business perspective to focus on shoe category generally (a proven category because which people buy shoes every day) and then focus more specifically on the niche of high performance sports shoes, (which you may even sell in a section of a shoe retail outlet). Better to have a small slice of a large category than a large slice of no market at all.

Get cash flowing ASAP. Cash flow is the lifeblood of business, and is absolutely essential to feed bottom-line profits. So you need to find ways to jump start cash flow immediately. How do you do that? In a professional services business, you can ask for deposits on work up-front, with balances due on delivery.
You can do the same in retail, especially on high-ticket or specialty item and position it as an added value and a way to insure delivery by a specific date.

You can also add value to generic items by creating private labels, and develop continuity programs where customers pay an up-front monthly fee to insure delivery or availability of items they will buy on a repeat basis. Of course, the key is to make sure there is little or no gap between when you pay for labor, stock inventory and when you actually get paid. Ideally, you’ll find ways to get money up front, and your cash gap will never be an issue.

Always find new ways to keep costs low. All the cash flow in the world is worthless if it’s not positive cash flow, which means you have to bring in more cash than you pay out.To do this, you need to keep your costs and expenses low. We’ve touched on this before, especially in of outfitting a startup. The main idea is to never pay retail , and look for used or gently used items to furnish your office or your retail space.
Paying vendors up front also gives you leverage for negotiating better prices. Especially in this economic environment, where credit is at a , vendors are more willing than ever to find creative ways to finance transactions, and that is a trend will likely continue over time.

So do some extra work and research now to discover how owners and vendors are finding ways to work out deals, and you just may hit on whole new ways of doing business.

When planning, always overestimate expenses and underestimate revenues. I was trained as an ant, so the numbers side of business is part of my entrepreneurial DNA, and was also a big part of my early business education. That said, I’ve never seen a startup business where expenses were at least 30 percent more than initially planned or anticipated, and revenues are at least that much less.
Being conservative in your numbers doesn’t mean you are willing to accept those numbers, it just means you are arming yourself with information you can work with and work over. It means you can gauge the kinds of efforts and activities you will need to put into sales and marketing.

Focus on sales and marketing manically. In business, nothing happens until a sale is made. From the jump, you’ll need to find a good way to get leads, convert leads into sales, and make sure you keep getting repeat sales from your customers. The way to do this is to find or create a marketing and sales funnel system that you can work, test, measure; one that anyone in your company can utilize.
Too many entrepreneurs focus on getting their brand right before they start to generate leads. That is exactly the wrong way to go about business. Leads are always more important than your brand, so don’t waste money getting your brand right at the expense of spending that same money to buy new customers.

Soon, you’ll discover you can build your brand from the ground up, versus spending years and hundred of thousands of dollars building it from the top down. Don’t presume you’ll even survive that long, because without leads, you won’t!

Find ways to exponentially increase profits. In business, there are five drivers that impact profits. If you can master them while keeping your costs in check, you will run a successful business. It’s as simple as getting more leads, converting more leads into customers, increasing the number of times those customers buy from you, increasing the average price point of your sales and increasing your profit margins.
Do any one of those, while also keeping costs down, you will see more profits. Do all of them and you will see your business really take off.

Test and measure everything. You can’t change what you don’t measure, and you can’t tell if a program or strategy is working if you are not faithfully testing, measuring and tracking your results.Another way to look at this is to think in of doctors. Most like to get baseline stats of your heart rate, blood pressure and breathing before they delve into identifying symptoms or recommending corrective courses of action.
The same is true in your business. Why keep literally throwing money away on an ad campaign that costs thousands of dollars but doesn’t bring any people through the door?

Accept that learning more equals earning more. If you’ve never run a million dollar business, you don’t know how to start a business–simple as that. But you can learn to run one, even if it is your million dollar business you are building from the ground up.
However, you need to accept right now that learning always comes before “earning” (except in the dictionary). You’ll need to be committed to learning as much as you can about sales and marketing and operations if you want to have a truly success business.

Once you do that, however, the sky is the limit. Knowing and applying those simple fundamentals in a highly leveraged way is one of the reasons many top executives and entrepreneurs earn so much.

Identify those areas and you then can decide to learn it yourself or hire an expert and learn as much as you can from that person–because you never know when you can run across a distinction in thinking or a strategy that can really take you and your business to a new level of success.

Don’t discount, add value. Whenever you discount, you are taking money directly out of your pocket and directly from your bottom-line profit. So don’t do it. Instead, create added value propositions all the way up and down your product or service line.Whatever the industry is, look to hold your price points, increase your margins with the low-cost or no-cost extras and any kind of freemium offerings.
In the end, those little things won’t cost you a lot, but will build up tremendous goodwill and word-of-mouth with your customers and customer base.

Get a coach. Even if you don’t get a business coach at first to help you and guide you in your planning and operation, get someone who is objective and outside of your business you can rely on for nitty gritty business advice and to hold you able to getting results.Too often, we think we have all the answers and are the only people who can really get things done. The reality is that another set of eyes can work wonders for how you operate both on and in your business. An outsider can also make sure you are getting the numbers you need both on the top line and the bottom line to survive.
I hope this initial checklist will be valuable in helping you clarify your thinking and helping you prioritize some activities in your planning and start up mode.

I like to say there are no mysteries in business or in life, there’s just information you don’t know yet.

So prepare as well as you can, knowing you will need to make changes and corrections. But armed with the right strategies up front, you can cut the time it will take you successfully get to your ultimate destination–wherever it is that may be for you and your business.

In those days, between 1995 and 2005, it was often a title decider. Everything was completely different about Sunday’s game at Emirates Stadium, and it summed up where both teams are at right now.
It was a match between the teams in fifth and sixth place in the Premier League but it felt more like it was ninth versus 10th, in one of those dead rubbers you get at the end of the season.

Yes, Arsenal won, to end United’s long unbeaten run, but nobody really cared – including United manager Jose Mourinho.

It was the first time Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has beaten him in a competitive game, at the 16th attempt and after 13 years of trying.

But watching Mourinho afterwards, it was probably the first time in about six months that I have seen him relaxed and smiling.

Mourinho ‘proud’ of players despite defeat

It was a game that was clearly a nuisance for him, sandwiched between the two legs of United’s Europa League semi-final against Celta Vigo that he has made it obvious is his priority.

So, for United, Sunday was just a case of survival – to get off that pitch without getting any more injuries – or at least that was how it looked.

Arsenal were clearly short of confidence, and in a different way they were looking to survive the game too.

They eventually worked out that United were not at full strength and they might be able to win, but for most of the first half they looked nervous, as if they were thinking ‘let’s not lose and have more fans protests after the game’.

The Gunners might have got the three points but the way they did it did not make any sort of statement about how strong they are.

Joy Udo, a teacher, on Wednesday told a Jikwoyi Customary Court, Abuja, that she left her matrimonial home because her husband asked her to choose between the marriage and her job.

Joy, who filed a petition seeking dissolution of the marriage, said her husband Sammul Udo, asked her to resign from her job.

“The major disagreement we had before I left his house was that he asked me to quit my job because his mother never worked, so his wife must not work.
“I refused. I told him that I won’t quit my job because if I do, I will be in a tight corner.

“He does not have enough money to cater for the family, even the capital that he used in starting his business, I gave it to him,” she said.
Joy also told the court that her husband does not bear the entire responsibility of catering for the family, adding that her husband faked his identity to lure her to marry him.
“Before our marriage, my husband claimed to be a pastor, but after the marriage, he stopped going to church and never wanted to pray with the family,” she said.
She alleged that her husband was promiscuous.

“I always see lots of love text messages on my husband’s phone. When I called his lover, the lady will say my husband never told her that he was married.
“When the lady told my husband that I called her, he made trouble with me and said that the marriage between us has ended,” she said.

Joy urged the court to dissolve the marriage and grant her the custody of the children.

The respondent, Udo, a businessman, was not in court.
The judge, Everyman Eleanya, adjourned the case until May 27 for defence.

Well normally I don't want to answer people like you but, just for others to read.
If truly you're from Niger Delta, what have you gained with all the Oil being taken from your devastated land? I live in Abuja and have seen all the development here and still going on from the money generated from Oil sales, oil from Niger delta but the last time I visited Bayelsa States in 2015 December I weep for the whole of Niger Delta.. that state is too rich with oil to that poor.

Thing is no body is begging you to be a Biafran and you're not speaking for most of our brothers in the South South who have Biafra in the heart.. there will be an opportunity for you guys to decide which side of the devide you want to . as you know very well the Igbos don't need your oil to excel in any area of their life, the oil has not been the back bone of our success, production, buying and selling (Trade) is.

So you can go on and remain a Nigeria, I think the effort Igbos are trying to make is for the history to read that we really did try to carry you guys along when we agitated for biafra but after all which ever side of the divide you chose later was your collective decision as a people.

The Niger bridge was blown to stop Nigerian soldier from reaching Igbo land during the Biafra war when it was obvious you guys are not coming that is to tell you we don't really need you guys if you think yourself too important to us.

A lot of demolition in the South East but today tell me a state in Niger Delta that is better than the worst state in South East

I'm Igbo. You cannot look at every criticism through an ethnic prism. That makes you dumb. What, by the way is there to "envy" about a white person speaking your language? You've no idea how dumb and slavish you sound. Disgusting.

Speaking Igbo isn't the catch here....I have seen many whites do that in East. Even when I was in primary school, the Japanese in my class Bokian speaks Igbo

So the issue isn't speaking Igbo but believing in husband philosophy..That's one

Then Igbo is a hard language and for you to speak it...Then I Duff my hat

This shouldn't be tribal

How many states have airports built by the state?
Should that be the priority of Fayose in Ekiti when they are owing salaries and pensions without enough teachers and doctors for their schools and hospitals?
Let us try to be reasonable, please.
Thanks

Imo state was the first state that built their airport
Then asaba
Anambra is building

On Saturday, 1st of April 2017, Nigerian DSTV s were hit with a shocking announcement revealing the increase in subscription charges of every DSTV package by five percent with effect from 1st May 2017.

This marks the fifth time DSTV is increasing its subscription fee in Nigeria since its inception in 2009. From the information made available, the price of DSTV has increased by 55 percent from N9,000 which it charged in 2009 to N13,980 in 2017 while that of DSTV Access has increased by 26 percent since 2009.

In defending this price increase in such a time of economic hardship, DSTV Nigeria released a statement blaming the increase on inflation and Forex restriction. However, it is no news that Forex restriction has been the problem of almost every company in Nigeria that does business using foreign currency.

“We announced last year that we would do everything possible to hold the price barring any extreme factors. However, all our content is purchased in dollars and although we have done everything possible to hold the prices even with the price of everything else going up, we are now left with no choice but to adjust our subscription prices from 1 May,” DSTV said in a press statement.

Over the years, MultiChoice Africa Limited, which offers video entertainment services in Africa through its digital satellite television service, DSTV, has been under constant attack by Nigerians either over subscription fees or content, and this year is not an exception. Most Nigerians feel robbed by this pay TV and its activities in the country due to its monopoly on certain programmes such as the English Premiership League rights. Apart from the price increase, they are currently under attack on social media for trying to remove a renowned Gospel TV station, Kingdom Africa, a channel that offers family friendly content with a very high moral benefits while they have decided to leave the Big Brother Naija (BB9ja) channel, which some Nigerians claim has little or no moral benefits.

In 2016, the Premier League announced that it had closed a deal valid for the 2016/17 and 2018/19 seasons with Econet Media, owned by a Zimbabwean tycoon, Strive Masiyiwa. Ventures Africa questioned if this was the end of DSTV but over a year later DSTV seems to remain the king of the park in Africa.

Following this recent announcement on price increase, many Nigerians have been calling for the boycott of DSTV while others have decided that they are going to pack up their DSTV decoders and begin a search for other pay TV services currently running in the country. This brings the question of if Nigerians can really do without DSTV.

Can Nigerians do without DSTV?

While scanning through Twitter which has recently become an even more powerful uniting tool, I stumbled across a tweet which suggested that Nigerians can actually put away their cable networks and make use of unlimited internet data bundles to watch whatever station they wished to watch or must have missed.

But how true can this be in Nigeria looking at the fact that Internet access in the country is very expensive? It could become a reality in Nigeria if Internet Service Providers (ISPs) decide to drop the price of their unlimited data bundles in order to help cut cost for Nigerians. If this is possible, Nigerians would be able to save more; instead of spending so much on mobile data, all they have to do is pay for unlimited data bundles which they could also use on their phones, laptops and HDTVs. In this case, the subscriber will only pay for what he or she watches as opposed to paying for what they didn’t watch – something which has been one of the greatest concerns of Nigerians who call for pay as you use DSTV subscriptions.

This is also a call to the telecommunication companies in Nigeria to take advantage of the current situation as an opportunity to increase the number of Internet Service Providers that dropped in February this year. According to the latest data released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigeria’s telecommunications networks lost 1,275,573 Internet s in February.

Even if some Nigerians claim to have ditched cable TV for the internet, we need to consider that once you ditch cable, your Internet connection will become the basic source of your media consumption, this means that you’ll need a very reliable Internet connection. And finding reliable Internet Service Providers can be quite the challenge.

But just in case any Nigerian decides to try this option he or she should make sure that their ISP s super-high-speed bandwidth necessary for streaming high-definition and super-high-definition video. This is because, in some cases, you might need to upgrade your subscription to get a high bandwidth.

So ...What do you mean ....Igbo don't invest in frivolity. They know business when it is done....This is encouraging laziness and Igbo will not be part of it.

They man for use the money build hospital or even acho or job poor people to start business

My former boss has a first class in economics and i have a second class lower. However, whenever he was issued a query from head office , I usually answered the query for him as he certainly do not know how to put his thought on paper. To add to it, since the bank asked us to go home, he hasn't been able to use his head to think of what to do to help himself. But look at me today, even before the bank asked us to go, I was able to use my brain and created some really good stuff for myself. What matters is the brain, not the paper.

I just came out a ban.. But I don't mind going back.

Haven't u heard the conventional education system of the world is failing.. Unlike that of Finland, for instance.

You can't judge pple based on their grades.

I can't even start waiting words on you. No curse left in my bank. But u are backward negative and the stench of ur ignorance is surprising.

Been out of school for 7 years.. (on my 3rd job) I can tell u nobody dwells on the issue of grades past the interview stage, and many jobs do not go through that stage if they need what you got to offer.. There is a meeting and kaboom.. U have the job.. Credentials are submitted for just official reasons.

I was on my own some few days ago....I came out with 2.2 not that I wasn't intelligent but I didn't want to bribe any lecturer and didn't do that

Some peeps saw my profile on LinkedIn and they always do that....I turned down an offer last year

This dude called me and told me they wanted me that if I had 2.1

I asked him that is it 2.1 they need or experience and capacity to do the job ? He laughed and told me to forward my works.... I told him to Google me and see citations

So I have come to realise it's not all about grades but capacity to do the work

Left for me I will like to employ 3rd class only
