Islam Is Idolatry I had a discussion with a Muslim who argued, “Muslims don’t worship black stone of Kaba. They worship only Supreme God, Allah. Black stone is foundation stone of Ka’ba. It is not idol.” He then went on berating Hindus for worshipping animals and statues and called me misguided. Here is my reply. Every building rest on a foundation and before the invention of concrete all buildings were made of stone and they had at least four corner stones. However no one circumambulates around them touches them and kiss them. The Islamic ritual of hajj is stone worship, the most primitive form of idolatry. Animal worship is not irrational. It is not the animal that people worship but what they represent. Since life is considered to be the breath of God, all living beings are regarded as manifestations of God. Reverence for life is one way to worship God. If you love someone, you place his or her picture in a place you can look at. It is not the picture that you adore, but the person that it depicts and represents. The picture is a reminder of your loved one. It is a way you communicate with that person mentally and spiritually. No one, except perhaps Muhammad and his followers are so dim witted to think a statue made of clay or wood or an animal is intrinsically sacred. The sacredness is in what they represent. Let me explain this with an example. Gold has intrinsic value, whereas paper money has no intrinsic value. The value of paper money is in what it represents. Likewise, the animals that some people regard as sacred are avatars. They are not considered to be intrinsically sacred, but are revered for the breath of God in them. The statues also are not deemed to be sacred. They represent a god much like a picture that reminds you of a loved one. What does the black stone in Ka’ba represent? Nothing! It is worshiped because it is believed to be intrinsically sacred. This is idolatry. The irony did not escape Umar. “Abdullah ibn Sarjis reported, “I saw the bald one, i. e. ‘Umar ibn Khattib (Allah be pleased with him), kissing the Stone and saying: By Allah. I am kissing with full consciousness of the fact that you are a stone and that you can neither do any harm nor good; and if I had not seen Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you. [Muslim: 7: 2914] As you see, with a bit of rational thinking and commonsense, what Muslims lack miserably, we can conclude that Hindus are not idolaters, while Muslims are. Does it offend God if someone worships His avatars? We assume that God has more commonsense than humans. Will you be offended if you find out that in your absence your children had hung your picture on a wall, decorated it with flowers and every day stood in front of it speaking to you in their minds? Unless you are insane, not only you would not be offended, you would be pleased that they ed you. God is not insane. Muhammad was. That is why he thought it is shirk to worship the avatars and images of God. Is it wrong to depict God? The nature of God is spirit and spirit is formless. But God can manifest Himself in any form he pleases and to us humans he often manifests Himself as a human. In the Bible we read that God appeared to Moses in the form of a burning bush. Humans are the biggest manifestations of God on Earth. These days and with the advancement of the medical science more and more people are resuscitated from death. A great number of them say while they were clinically dead they went to the next world and met spiritual beings, including their deceased relatives. Some of them say they met God. Sometimes God appears to them as pure light and sometimes He takes the form of a human. Therefore, it is perfectly okay to depict God in the form of a human. If God did not like to be seen as a human He would not have appeared as one. If Muslims could think rationally they would know that these rules that Muhammad made us are stupid. He made us silly rules and killed people for not believing in them. God is not offended for people drawing images of Him, worshipping Him through his avatars, and living beings. He is offended when you hate others and kill His children in His name. Hell is for those who hate, not for those who worship God through his avatars. Anyone with commonsense can see that Muslims are the only people who are idolaters, while those whom they accuse of such thing are actually monotheists. The so called polytheistic religions believe in one supreme deity, while they worship also minor gods that act as is intercessors between them and God. The Quraish believed in a God who was the maker of the universe by the name of Hubaal. They called him by his title al Lah (the God). His symbol was crescent. All minor deities were his intercessors. In his Book of Idols (Kitab Al-Asnam), Hisham Ibn Al-Kalbi wrote, “The Quraysh used to circumambulate the Ka’ba and say: By Allat and al-‘Uzza, And Manah, the third idol besides. Verily they are the most exalted females, Whose intercession is to be sought.” This is confirmed in the Quran 10:18. “(Some people) worship things other than Allah which harm nor benefit them. They say, “These (idols) are our intercessors before God.” (Muhammad), tell them, “Are you trying to tell God about something that He does not find in the heavens or earth? God is too Glorious to be considered equal to idols.” This verse is another evidence of Muhammad ignorance. An intercessor is not equal to God. This is called straw man fallacy. Did Muhammad do away with intercession? Not at all! He claimed that rank for himself. See the following age. Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar: The Prophet said, “A man keeps on asking others for something till he comes on the Day of Resurrection without any piece of flesh on his face.” The Prophet added, “On the Day of Resurrection, the Sun will come near (to, the people) to such an extent that the sweat will reach up to the middle of the ears, so, when all the people are in that state, they will ask Adam for help, and then Moses, and then Muhammad (p.b.u.h).” The sub-narrator added “Muhammad will intercede with Allah to judge amongst the people. He will proceed on till he will hold the ring of the door (of Paradise) and then Allah will exalt him to Maqam Mahmud (the privilege of intercession, etc.). And all the people of the gathering will send their praises to Allah.” [Bukhari, 2: 24: 553] The claim that Muhammad is the sole intercessor between God and humans is reiterated in numerous verses of the Quran. I invite the reader to and read my debate on this topic with Mr. Javed Ahamad Ghamedi and Dr. Khalid Zaheer in Probing Islam. So if it is shirk to believe in intercessors and an intercessor is equal to God according to Muhammad, didn’t he made himself equal to God? He dethroned Allah’s intercessors only to occupy their posts. Isn’t it therefore fair to say that Islam is idolatry for promoting stone worship and it is shirk for raising Muhammad to the rank of God? Now you can see how Muhammad accused others of the sins he was guilty of 1 Like 1 Share |

Nigeria is living in very interesting times of power politics. Some pundits are saying that history is about to repeat itself through the forged political realignments. Some 12 days after Nigeria’s Independence in October 1960, the then Premier of the Northern Region and Sardauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, said in The Parrot newspaper: “The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Othman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the north as willing tools and the south as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future.” Some Northern irredentists, notably Professor Ango Abdullahi and Dr Junaid Muhammed, insist at every interview opportunity that power must perforce return to the North. They have been countered by the militant voices out of Niger Delta, notably the very voluble Asari Dokubo. It is as though Nigeria is poised on a knife edge. In the alliances being put to play to win political power, the role of General Afonja in the fall of the old Oyo Empire needs to be recalled. According to Wikipedia, “The Ilorin Emirate is a traditional state based on the city of Ilorin in Kwara State, Nigeria. It is considered to be one of the Banza Bakwai, or copy-cats of the Hausa Kingdoms. At the start of the 19th century Ilorin was a border town in the northeast of the Oyo Empire, with a mainly Yoruba population but with many Hausa-Fulani immigrants or slaves. It was the headquarters of an Oyo General, Afonja, who rebelled against the empire and helped bring about its collapse with the assistance of the Fulani. The rebellion was powered by Hausa, Nupe and Bornu Moslem slaves. Afonja had been assisted by Salih Janta, also called Shehu Alimi, a leader of the local Fulani. In 1824 Afonja was assassinated and Alimi’s son Abdusalami became Emir. Ilorin became an emirate of the Sokoto Caliphate.” Afonja played a role akin to that of Vidkun Quisling, the Norwegian politician who undermined the world by aiding Nazi , for which the word “quisling” entered the dictionary. Some notable Southwest politicians have been drawn into a recall of the old Afonja debacle and the need to stop the quislings in the zone in their tracks. At issue is the divide of between the two presidential candidates, incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and General Muhammadu Buhari of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). The factional leader of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams, weighs in with these words: “I don’t think that the Southwest will vote for Buhari en masse. Don’t forget the pain caused by the June 12 annulment; it is still fresh in the mind of our people. Many died in the cause of June 12 struggle; many lost a lot of properties. I don’t think our people will trust a Hausa/ Fulani man from the North this time around.” Pa Ayo Adebanjo, a leader of the Yoruba group, Afenifere, and a top member of Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s Action Group, in an interview with Vanguard entitled “The grave mistake Nigeria cannot afford”, argued that leaders of the North have a “born to rule” mentality. The 87-year-old Adebanjo said: “If some Yoruba follow them sheepishly, probably because they don’t know the background, that cannot happen to someone like me. And part of the inequality we are talking about is what has come out in the Buhari certificate matter. In the first republic, you set up a standard for everybody but when it comes to the northerner, you set another standard, that is exactly what happened in Buhari’s case. Those of us who knew all these things from the beginning are not surprised by the new turn of events. You heard that his principal sent a letter to the military that he was capable and that he expected that he would his examinations. That was what was happening in those days in the North. Go and ask serious federal civil servants in this country, many of the permanent secretaries that were senior to them whether they were not superseded without being qualified. They cannot deny that. If you have read General Isama’s book, you will find it there where he said when they were about to be commissioned, the standard set for them was usually lower for the North. I am sure he never anticipated a situation like this.” The fire-eating Adebanjo who at 87 is sharper than a razor-blade completely dismissed Buhari’s democratic credentials as he continued thusly: “When did he become a democrat? What has he done to show he is a democrat other than the fact he is saying he is being punished because he is now a democrat? When he first came as a military man, he was issuing retroactive actions to convict people for murder. We are all living witnesses to what he did with Decree 4, so, that is the type of man you want me to vote in a civilian regime? He says he is not a fundamentalist. It is just that people forget about records easily. Here was a man who campaigned in the North and said Muslims should vote for Muslims. Here was a man who said he was going to work for the operation of Sharia throughout the country. He has not denied it neither has he apologized for all the anti-democratic things he has done. I won’t be deceived by bringing a first class technocrat as running mate.” Just like Afonja’s role in the fall of the old Oyo Empire, it is of the opinion of Adebanjo that the Southwest “will be making a big mistake and digging their graves”, stressing with finality: “Buhari is only deceiving them." |

By Gbenga Sodeinde, Ado Ekiti The Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Ekiti State chapter has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) does not believe in the unity and oneness of Nigeria. The Ekiti State chapter of Afenifere also lauded the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan’s reelection by the Afenifere, saying; "Those interested in the restructuring of Nigeria must the President’s reelection because he had the courage to convoke the national conference and he has promised to implement the report." In a release issued in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, and signed by Chief A. Alonge and Chief Femi Balogun, the State Chairman and Secretary of Afenifere respectively, the group said it was wrong for someone like Buhari, who had refused to attend the Council of State meetings since 2007 to rule Nigeria. "The last council of state meeting attended by Buhari was during the ratification of the disputed census figures, which shows that Kano State was still more populous than Lagos despite the fact that Jigawa was carved out of it. "That's the same way he boycotted the Oputa and he is also going to boycott the presidential election debate organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria ( BON ), a statutory organisation comprising of all television and radio stations in Nigeria. "If Buhari does not believe in the Council of State, he never believed in the Oputa that was set up by the Obasanjo government and now Buhari is saying he does not believe in BON, it simply indicates that he does not believe in Nigeria as a country. "How then can Buhari govern a country that he does not believe in?" Speaking further, the group said; "Buhari demonstrated his ethnic bigotry on 13 October 2000, when he led the Arewa team to the Governor of Oyo State, late Chief Lam Adesina to confront the state over alleged killings of Fulani cattle rearers in Saki, Oke Ogun Area of the state. "Ethnic champion Buhari had said that he was in Oyo State to express his 'displeasure about the incident of clashes between two peoples… the Fulani cattle rearers and merchants are today being harassed , attacked and killed like in Saki. In the month of May, 2000, 68 bodies of Fulani cattle rearers were recovered and buried under the supervision and protection from a team of Mobile Police from Oyo State Command.' “Buhari went on to allege that 'some arrests were made by Oyo State Police Command in the massacre with their immediate release without court trial. This was said to have been ordered by Oyo State authorities and they were so released to their amazement. The release of the arrested suspects gave the clear impression that the authorities are backing and protecting them to continue the unjust and illegal killings of Fulani cattle rearers…' "Then Buhari dropped the bombsell, he wanted 'immediate stoppage of the killings, justice and compensation to the Fulanis.' "That was how far Buhari went in championing the interest of the Fulanis as if they were not Nigerians and the it is our advise to Buhari that he should continue to lead only the Fulanis. He can't even lead the Hausas, Kanuris, Tivs, Gwaris, Nupes, Jukuns and other tribes in the north." |

ArchEnemy: If extra judicial killing is not corruption, then I wonder what it is. If unequal treatment of two who committed the same offence or are accused of the same offence is not corruption, I wonder what to call it. If smuggling money out of the country in some 50 suit cases is not corruption, abeg wetin e be again? If lieing under oat is not corruption, then please let's redefine it. Buhari flaunts his anti corruption credentials with reckless abandon and yet flocks with Ahmed Tinubu who argueably the most corrupt Nigerian alive. Those who are not capable of deep thinking can be fooled with fake 'change' euphoria. Change from what to what? Tell me one person around who exudes an aura of change. 4 Likes |
