Spoke with an Immigration consultant today and she told me the chances of me getting a student visa was low because of my age. Here is my status:
- I am 34years
- Single
- Applying for a 2 year vocational diploma program in web development
- Self sponsored
- I own a web development business and run an ecommerce portal
- I have 2 s, active company with a closing balance of 1.2m(daily inflow and out flow of cash), personal with a closing
balance of 12m
- Paid a deposit of tuition fees of 4000cad remaining a balance of 18k.

Please I need your opinions on this

I am glad you took my advice and ed your school. Where are those critics who said I didn’t school in Nigeria and have no idea? Where are those who said it will take 2-3 years? At a point I just stopped arguing and let them feel like they won. You don’t have to win every argument I have learnt as my rule in life, you can just agree to disagree. The school is ready to make 100% corrections if it emanate from there side....but please oooo how did school and Nysc make such a mistake with same name......am sure most of us are giving form to fill correctly in camp on how our name should be written on our nysc certificate....school will make correction if u go to them......then NYSC will be a long process....u can notarised the affidavit to back up your NYSC

Yea we were given forms to fill in camo, that is where the mistake took place for NYSC, i asked one of the officers whether i should use the name on my certificate or my correct name, she told me to write it down the way it was on my certificate......that was where i got myself messed up with NYsC

How sure are you that this name change cannot be done in a few days or even a few weeks? That sure is the safest way to solve his problem. Because with the way CIC is so suspicious of Nigerians, a certificate is so important and should bear the right name from the issuing institution. It’s like this guy I asked to go get his transcript from his school. He was so convinced it couldn’t be done because when he attended school, the institution didn’t have computers for record keeping. With a little push and some Nairas exchanged, the school fished out his transcript in two weeks. Please let the guy do himself the favor of going back to his school and correcting the error and resorting to an affidavit only as a last resort.

thanks for your concern....i have reached out to my school and was told it can be done in 2 weeks with a little monetary exchange, so that should be done by 1st week of june. In othet news I had a webinar with the canadian school I am applying to last night, they advised I shouldnt pay the full tuition till i get the visa, that i should pay the deposit fee instead in case i am rejected the visa, it would be easy for them to refund though i could shift my ission to the next cohort and reapply for a visa. I was thinking of making full payment for the 2 years program so i could be convincing enough to the VO. Also does my 4 months bank statement need to be above my living expenses through out the 4 months, for example in the 1st month balance was 1.5m, in the 2nd month they was an upward spike in business and ended with 8m and continued up and down till the 4th month where the balance is 7m, does the instability affect the chances of getting the visa?

If the names are spelt wrongly from the name on your port, you should go and rectify the names on your certificate and NYSC. Otherwise, go and do your port in the name on your certificate and NYSC. You dont want CIC thinking you burrowed someone’s certificate with almost similar names like yours.

i can't change the name of my port na, every other document is with the same name only the NYSC and Bsc certificate. Would try and reach my school to make to know the steps I would take if it wouldn't take much of my time I would ask for a reprint. By the way the school I am applying for doesn't require my Bsc or Nysc qualification....Its just a training school for coders and the requirement is just IELTS a skype interview to see if I am ionate about coding and possibly codes I have worked on, do I still need to attach BSC and NYSC certificates?

If you pay and attach receipts, that would mean you have gone and over and above to show you are finally buoyant. Ensure to document sources of income and you may use a business only in your name or immediate relative.

forgot to ask.....can i use my business alone as proof of payment cos my personal is not active and my business is active with daily transactions of nothing less than 20k and a max of 350k a day for the last 1yr and a total deposit volume of 16m in the last 6months. You are good to go, change in career shouldn’t affect your visa as academic progression by the VOs is measured either in what you studied last in school or done as employment after graduation. My only concern with your case is justifying why a 2 year diploma instead of a masters directly. If you can justify this, you should be fine. Yes you may sponsor yourself if you have enough money to prove to cover one year at least and evidence that funds will be forthcoming in subsequent years.

Last year I started my web development business and ed it with CAC, I learnt web development on my own and built an online ecommerce business. Now I am applying for a 2yr diploma in full-stack web and app development program in Canada. I want to ask a couple of questions

1) Can I sponsor myself from my business which has enough funds in it and has been active with daily transactions for the last 1year
2) would my change in career affect my application

Has any business center or result checker dealer observed that when you want to purchase the result checkers in bulk from any of the Neco office nationwide you would be asked for additional money/tip on top the retail price(300) value of the card. I'm always asked to pay N20 extra for each card. If i make payment through remitta i am still asked for more money when I get to their office to collect the cards or they stall and delay you or even give excuses that the cards are not available that you should come back for it. By the way why do their offices look so disorganized and scattered and always in dilapidated buildings compared to WAEC, the workers always seem unserious in their offices.
