Sir Jude Ezenwafor KSJI, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Anambra State, has unveiled the Anambra Youth Millionaires Programme (AYMP). The unveiling took place during a high-level meeting of the PDP State Working Committee, Local Government Chairmen, and their executives, held at the PDP Secretariat in Awka. This revolutionary initiative aims to position Anambra State as Nigeria’s leading hub for youth empowerment and wealth creation, one ward at a time.

Unveiling the Vision: AYMP is set to empower 32,600 youths across Anambra’s 326 political wards, providing ₦1 million each to viable business ventures and entrepreneurial ideas. The programme will be executed in six strategic phases with a post-election scale-up plan. It merges economic empowerment with civic engagement, aiming to reduce youth unemployment by over 40% and promote structured grassroots mobilization.

Thunderous Endorsement and Party-wide
During the unveiling, Sir Jude presented the AYMP with ionate clarity. His announcement was met with a thunderous standing ovation, as PDP took turns to praise the initiative and its far-reaching impact. In a unanimous show of confidence, the party stakeholders endorsed Sir Jude’s candidacy and called on Ndi Anambra to him as the next Governor of Anambra State to enable the full implementation of the programme.

"We are not just running for the office of the Governor — we are running to raise 32,600 millionaires. We are not building followers — we are building leaders," Sir Jude affirmed.

CURBING GRADING BIAS IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

Indices have shown in recent years,how the credibility of examinations in Nigeria's higher institutions has come under increasing scrutiny and doubts. To a great extent, the skepticism is as a result of allegations of grading bias, and manipulations by lecturers.
Before now, all eyebrows seemed to be against students. They are perceived to be the only culprits in examination malfeasances, seeing they assume a role of the subordinates,and are mostly involved in cheating during exams,buying grades and other related malpractices.
However, as technology advances, particularly with the invention of computer-based tests (CBT) that allow for studends, to write examination online and have their results ed via the same means, it is increasingly becoming necessary, to shift the searchlight against examination malpractices to the lecturers.
I speak today as a lecturers, who was once a student, but victimized through grading bias.
Years ago, I had reasons to a host of others, to our grievances about how our department handled the collation of our final result— the collations were taking longer than necessary, and many of my course mates were eager to go for NYSC deployment.
Long story made short, some of us who made that journey to school were victimized. Our grades were reduced, and as such we have continued to live with this trauma.
It is important I tell you that, there is an opportunity to 'call for one's papers' in most Nigerian universities, however, such avenues are nothing but means for further frustration and victimisation of students. If anyone has ever scaled such rigour, then, the percentage of those who have come out triumphant must be very infinitesimal.
In most of the cases, students who disatisfactions about their results or grades are humiliated and marked down during the remarking process.
Because of naivity that comes with adolescence, most students who have such issues prefer to be quite about it. They are spiraled into silence, knowing doing otherwise could spell doom.

It is not out of place, to say most of the lecturers in our tertiary institution have assumed the position of the biblical principalities and powers. Many wield so much powers that, they can do and undo just anything, especially as it concerns students' academic performances.

It is unfortunate that,an issue as mundane and irrelevant to academics as sex, is used against some unwilling students— a lecturer wants to take an undue advantage of a female student, before such student es her course at all, or with good grade. What a sacrilege!

To address these challenges and enhance transparency and fairness,there is need for shifting from traditional pen-on-paper examinations to Computer-Based Testing (CBT) across Nigerian universities and colleges:

Curtailing lecturers' manipulations, is paramount in the quest for academic transparency and integrity in Nigeria. The world had since moved from where most of our institutions now dwell. The days of submitting your examination scripts to a drug or alcohol-influnced lecturer are over. We must embrace the ease, speed and accuracy that technology accords.

With manual grading, the risk of biased marking, grade alterations, and even solicitation of favors (monetary or otherwise) is significantly higher. CBTs remove this vulnerability by automating the marking process for objective questions, reducing human interference, and ensuring that results are based purely on student performance.
The detection of the hitches in 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organized recently by t issions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a testament to the fact that, our old grading patterns are indeed archaic and suppressive. Aside the technical glitches, which are easily detectable and amendable, JAMB deploying CBT method remains the best.

Furthermore,for our institutions to score high in objectivity and fairness, candidates must be scored based on definitive algorithms, leaving little to no room for subjectivity– this can only be made possible by CBT. Here,all students are assessed under the same conditions, and the same grading standards are uniformly applied. This gives equal opportunity, or a level playing field, where students' efforts are the sole determinants of their grades, thereby restoring faith in the integrity of academic assessments.

While computers may not necessarily be able to take over all human activities, we must accept the fact that,they enhance productivity and the management of time. No matter how smart and proficient a lecturer could be, the sight of over a hundred booklets of students during examination sends a wave across his/her spine. It is certain s/he wouldn't be able to mark all scripts with the same zest, objectivity and speed.
Traditional examinations require a long marking period, during which scripts are often lost, misgraded, or intentionally manipulated. In contrast, CBTs offer instant or much faster results, giving no room for tampering after submission. This rapid turnaround not only benefits students but also reduces the istrative workload on academic departments.

Nigerian institutions must embrace a paradigm shift, if they hope to remain competitive and prepare students for the demands of the modern workforce
Moving fully to CBT is not without its challenges. Infrastructure deficits, erratic power supply, and digital divide are real issues in many Nigerian institutions. However, these challenges are surmountable. Government investment, public-private partnerships, and phased implementation can bridge the gap.

Moreso, while objective questions are easier to grade via CBT, strategies must be developed to accommodate essay-type assessments and practicals. Hybrid models that incorporate both automated testing and supervised evaluations could serve as a balanced approach during the transition phase.

Let me close by emphasising that, transitioning from pen-on-paper examinations to CBT in Nigerian higher institutions, is not just a technological upgrade — it's a fundamental reform to restore integrity,fairness and transparency in the academic system. It is an easy avenue for the elimination of opportunities for lecturers' manipulations.

CBT stands as a crucial tool in transforming Nigeria's education sector into one that truly rewards merit and prepares students for a digital future.

What stops institutions, including JAMB from conducting CBTs where students' results are displayed immediately the SUBMIT button is clicked?

RE: ATTEMPTS TO RIDICULE JUSTICE – URGING THE GOVERNOR TO STAND FIRM AGAINST KAKOR AND WARNING AGAINST OUTSIDE INTERFERENCE

Your Excellency,

We, Concerned Citizens of Edo State, write to you with deep concern and renewed urgency following the circulation of a video online showing Mr. Ese Kakor, a man declared wanted by your istration for cult-related activities, seen dancing in a nightclub in Abuja and openly insulting your person and the authority of the Edo State Government.

In the said footage, Kakor was reportedly boasting that no one can arrest him, allegedly referencing the of one Chief Ayiri Emami, the embattled Ologbosere of Warri Kingdom, whom investigations suggest may be leveraging connections with high-ranking political figures, including proximity to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria*.

We, as Edo people, are deeply disturbed by the arrogance, disrespect, and reckless display of defiance by a man whose actions have contributed to hundreds of deaths, community unrest, and the destruction of our state’s image—both nationally and internationally.

Let us remind Your Excellency and the security agencies that since the decisive crackdown on cultism began in Edo State, peace has begun returning to our streets. Young people are once again daring to dream. Law-abiding citizens feel safer. And confidence in government action has been restored.

We must not lose that momentum.

Our Clear and United Plea

1. Do not be deterred. Intensify the pursuit of Ese Kakor*.
He must be arrested, prosecuted, and punished. Not only for defying the law but for insulting the collective memory of Edo youths who have died in cult-related violence.

2. Chief Ayiri Emami must be warned to stay out of Edo State affairs.
We understand he is not an Edo indigene. We are not at war with our Ijaw or Itsekiri brothers. But if Chief Ayiri or anyone else chooses to shelter, , or obstruct justice on behalf of Kakor, we shall hold them personally responsible as co-sponsors of the killings and destruction that cultism has brought upon Edo State.

3. Security agencies must act, not watch.
We urge the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, and Nigerian Army to collaborate closely with the Governor of Edo State to apprehend this fugitive, who has flouted a valid arrest order and is now mocking the authority of a sitting Governor on social media.

To the Royal Palace of Benin

We also appeal to His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, to stand firm as the spiritual and moral guardian of our people*. Let no one—no matter how politically connected or financially wealthy—undermine the efforts being made to *cleanse our land. Famous journalist and human rights activist Dapo Adeseko has faced threats from religious extremists in Nigeria particularly in the South West Nigeria, due to his advocacy for the fundamental human rights of LGBTQ individuals in Nigeria and Africa.

Infact the threat was so obvious to the extent that he has to cancelled an enlightenment campaign recently because of attack on his campaign train in Ogun state Nigeria, where he was molested and dehumanized by some sect of extremists. Owerri Imo State– Chinedu Nsofor, Nigeria’s Programmes Director at Asia Pacific Sports International, a seasoned technocrat, professional social worker, and an International Development Expert, has strongly condemned the National Assembly following disturbing revelations that lawmakers allegedly inserted projects worth ₦6.93 trillion into the proposed 2025 national budget.

According to a recent investigation by BudgIT, a leading civic technology organisation advocating for transparency and ability in Nigeria’s public finance which was reported by Sahara Reporters, this staggering insertion was made without due process, ability, or alignment with pressing national development goals. The exposé alleges widespread duplication of projects and the allocation of funds to vague and non-essential items.

“This is not just financial recklessness; it is economic terrorism against the Nigerian people,” Chinedu Nsofor stated firmly. “At a time when the nation is bleeding from inflation, debt, unemployment, and insecurity, our lawmakers have chosen to loot through legislation rather than lead with integrity.”

The amount in question reportedly represents over 30% of the entire national budget, which should trigger national outrage and investigation of massive corruption in the National Assembly. Nsofor lamented the misplaced priorities of some of the National Assembly, stating that the country deserves better.

“₦6.93 trillion could fund thousands of schools, revamp our hospitals, boost food production, and improve our power sector,” he continued. “Instead, it is being siphoned through shady constituency projects and political patronage.”

Nsofor called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Budget Office to withstand legislative pressure and defend the integrity of the 2025 budget. Chinedu further called on the EFCC, IC, and civil society organizations to conduct a comprehensive forensic audit of the padded components of the budget and ensure that all those responsible are held able. He is also advocating for an institutionalized annual audit across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) by the EFCC and IC, emphasizing that such routine scrutiny would deter budget padding, promote transparency, and restore public confidence in the budgeting process.

“This brazen act must not go unpunished. We must reset the culture of public service in Nigeria. If we tolerate this, then we have institutionalized corruption as a national policy,” he warned.

On Saturday, 3rd May 2025, an Air Peace Airlines flight from Akure Airport was delayed, causing undue inconvenience to a Nigerian traveller and a prominent Nigerian man of God, an unfortunate incident that befell the nation's citizens

Does Nigerian law consider it a criminal offense for travelers to book flights with Air Peace, a leading Nigerian airline, instead of other airlines that fail to depart on schedule, such as remaining at 10am instead of departing at 10am? Certainly, some Nigerian citizens may opt to travel with airlines like Arik, Aero, Dana, rather than Air Peace.

It is evident that many Nigerians actually believe Air Peace airline came to rescue Nigerians from the subpar fly-and-die experience of other airlines, such as Dana, which is why many have fallen in love with Air Peace Airlines' domestic operations



Air Peace Airlines' decision to reschedule a 12:00 flight from Akure in Ondo State to 3:00 on Saturday, 3rd May 2025, has been met with disappointment from some affected Nigerian engers, who deem this change unreasonable and unjustified.

Only for them to fall victim to an extremely harrowing experience. The first indication was the outrage of a enger at the Nigeria Air Peace counters. He yelled at the ticketing officials that his time had been wasted by three hours and demanded to be refunded his money, as his business was equally affected.

The scene was remarkably congested, and indeed there was an exceedingly large number of engers traveling to Lagos on this particular Air Peace flight.Which none of them can comprehend what could cause a delay from 12 O'clock to 3:15 pm, without considering individuals with an assignment or occasion in Lagos, is so crazy and devastating.

The both school fees is about four point three million naira. You made me not to feel the pain of paying the first year for both of them. 3. Happy birthday to the man who taught me how to be a father and a friend with my assistant pastors. I came for training with your pastors, and I saw how you bonded with them as a friend and a brother to them, yet they honour and respect you as a father. Only few men can combine these two aspects with a balance. I saw them respect your authority and still confess their secret battles to you for you to help them overcome.
