Chelsea are also targeting Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe and RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol. Kimpembe and Gvardiol are left-sided centre-backs, so are seen as potential replacements for Rüdiger. ~ @JacobSteinberg

Chelsea have closed agreement with Sevilla to sign Jules Koundé for €65m, variables included. Koundé will sign until 2027 with a salary of €6m net per season. ~ @GonzaloTortosa via @elchiringuitotv

That tackle on Sadiq should have been a penalty

We've all pointed out how Nwankali haven't impressed so far. I however do hope that if he puts in a good performance today, we are honest enough to it it.

What's the rule on cards? Will the yellow cards for Aribo and Aina be wiped off after the group stage?

I like the way our fullbacks drive with the ball(especially Aina), very impressive. You can tell these moves have been practiced and mastered.

Full back drives with the ball, dribbles towards the middle, dragging the opposing full backs inside, creating space for the wingers before releasing the ball. These are the tiny details that are making the difference.

Expect more of that in the coming games. We've told everybody that we play from the wings. I expect the coach to introduce a midfield 3 in the second half and switch play

I refer to my long standing proviso for national team selection.

It is better to be the top outstanding player in a low level club and league than an anonymous mouse in s top level club and league.

That is still in the HERE and NOW.

Ighalo is the top the current highest goal scorer in the Saudi Arabia pro Football league. That is in the HERE and NOW.

So now Miss objective quantifiable and measured.

Can you show where there is a contradiction to my position which has remained consistent please.
The definition of HERE and NOW is self explanatory

You are very dishonest. And the fact that you pride yourself, despite the blatant hypocrisy, to be the only unsentimental one here is quite laughable, especially considering you are the most biased, sentimental and prejudiced one here.

@bolded, Onuachu, Awoniyi and Sadiq Umar are examples of home grown talents that have been outstanding in their low level leagues that you have consistently trashed here, or is that caveat only applicable to your innit boys and your south south brothers?

Does Opta Africa exist?
This is ironic seeing as opta is the stat partner of sofascore. All stats on sofascore are from opta.

"In of preparation and strategy, we had a special plan for Mohamed Salah because we know his quality,” Eguavoen told BBC Sport Africa.

“Basketball is one game that I love so much. When you are playing against the likes of Allen Iverson, Michael Jordan and others, if you don’t double-team you’ll have a problem.

“That is the same strategy that I bring into football. So when Mo Salah is with the ball, the closest person goes to him and the next person has to double-team to make him play back.

“It worked for us like 80%, but Salah broke loose on one or two occasions which is normal, but again congratulations to the boys because they are so intelligent.” - Austin Eguavoen.

Does this man realize that his opponents will monitor his press statements? Why explain your tactics to the world when the tournament is still far from over and you may need to employ the same tactic again? Let Eguavoen bridle his tongue o!
Someone that has been telling whoever cares to listen that eagle's pattern rely heavily on wing play.

Loosing the ball means getting dispossessed. In other words, you claimed he was dispossessed by the Egyptians 19times. At that rate, it means he lost the ball practically everytime he touched it. You went ahead to count shots and crosses as getting dispossessed.
For real, you should have a word with yourself bro.
Actually, you are wrong. Possession lost refers to the number of times a player turns over possession to the opponent. It doesn't matter if it was a wrong , a wrong cross, a failed dribble etc. As long as you turn over possession to your opponent it is counted as possession lost.

And yes, Simon lost possession 19times yesterday as recorded by sofascore(sofascore get their stats directly from opta)
