It is crystal clear that these politicians don't have anything to offer. In saner clime, govts buy farm produce from farmers at relatively high prices and store in silos. This is a way to encourage people to venture into agriculture. The food stuff is released into the markets, when prices are high. In my country, farmers are not even ed by the govt and this gov is discouraging bulk purchase of food stuff from the state. It is only when farmers sell these farm produce in bulk that they will make bulk money.

These guys are bereft of the ideas of running this country. They're two economic policies that are causing the hyper inflation in the country. 1) Removal of fuel subsidy 2) Floating of the naira. 3) The 3rd problem is insecurity that is making farmers not to go to their farms. The former president was defending the naira and subsidizing petroleum products and things were not worst like this. Untill the government reverts these economic policiess and tackle the corruptions in forex and subsidy regimes, Nigerians sufferings continue. Food is available in the country everywhere, but it's very expensive Government releasing food stuff from the national grain reserve is not the solution to the current problem. The government can as well release building materials, clothing, cement, cars, motor spare parts, motorcycles, trucks, bread, Handsets, transport fares and students school fees etc from the national strategic reserve inoder to reduce the prices of these items. God created us to 'chop' life and not only to eat rice, beans and maize. 1 Like |

I believe, we should call on God to change the hearts of wicked people to good, instead of calling on the fire of God to consume them. Prov 21:1; 2 Sam15;34; We are not in the old testament. Jesus rebuked his disciples for this. Lk 9:54-55.

This poster is using nairaland forum to cruise. She wrote on 10/04/23 that she is having issues in her marriage. She claimed that her marriage is 5 years old. In today post, (29/01/24). she is claiming that her marriage is twelve years old. On 21/07/23, she wanted nairalanders to advise her whether to stay with her Mum or boyfriend. Some people may bring serious issues that need advice, but some of us may think that the people is using us to cruise and it's a fallacy and we may give any advice. There's no consistency in her stories.

The Hausa and Fulani think that they own Nigeria. Nigeria Defence Academy (Army, Air force and Navy, university) is situated in the Northern Nigeria (Kaduna). Gen Brutai established this time Nigeria Army university in Biu, Borno state, no eyebrows were raised. Another general again from the air force, Vice marshall A Sadeeq established Nigeria Air force university in Bauchi, which is the same northern Nigeria and nobody complained. The North now has 3 military universities and most military establishments are situated in the North and there's no complaint from any quarter. It is just the CBN department of banking supervision that is been moved to Lagos. All the bank head offices are situated in Lagos and if the CBN dept of bank supervision is in Lagos, it will reduce costs and makes it easier to supervise these banks. Haba! This is BAT and not GEJ.

Those guys are old, but they wouldn't leave politics for the younger generations. The last time I check, Paul Biya is still the president of Cameroon. In Nigeria, he is also more than 70 years In USA, the current president is more than 70 years and the one that will be president in November, will still be more than 70 years. May God help us!

This is purely based on the state of our economy and not necessary competition from rival brands. Understand that this is a British company and those guys don't necessarily compromise easily. The cost of production has gone up as a result of mismanagement of our economy by the politicians. If the company produces in this economy, the selling price will be high and many Nigerians will not be able to afford its products thereby making them go for cheap brands from China. I believe if this company is a Chinese company, it will compromise by reducing the quality and quantity of the products and it will remain in the country. How many Chinese companies are leaving Nigeria?

Benjamin Netanyahu is an intelligent man. He is avoiding what happened to Yitzhak Rabin in 1995. The radical Israelites are highly against the two states solution. It was the main reason why the settlers took out Yitzhak Rabin.

BALLOSKI: This is the reason why we are rooting for Trump snr. All American presidents from Bush (Snr) to Obama were afraid to take out Qasem Soleiman. Former president D Trump was equally warned of the implications of killing Soleimani, he brushed it aside and said nothing will happen and it truely came to . He took out Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi in Syria. There should be no mercy for terrorists. |

flakkypastries: It was in July 2023 that you sought the opinion on this forum whether to take a bank cleaner job in ondo or Househelp job in Abuja. People advised you to take the bank cleaner job instead of househelp job. I believe it was the bank cleaner job you finally settled for and you wee doing prior to your sack. It is also on this forum that you posted how you were working with a company that sells phones and sim cards on commission basis. You could not cope bc the company refused to provide their company buses for to market their products as a result of the increase in fuel prices bc of subsidy removal. The question now is: Must you work for somebody? Can't you start something on your own? My advice for you in 2024 is for to start your own biz even if it is selling of pure water by the road side. I believe you are a lady. The Bible says whatever we do, it will prosper. It is not the salary we collect we prosper us. Cheers! |

It is easier to identify politicians with empty brains and less acumen. It is emphasis on degree certificates that is making our politicians to forge degree certs. Instead of emphasizing on training and re-training of teachers with adequate pay and motivations, so that they can put in their best, he is talking of degree certs.

This man didn't explain to us whether he is a major shareholder or minor shareholder. The number of shares a person posseses in a company can empower him to appoint himself or someone else as chairman or CEO. So if this man is a major shareholde, he can directly appoint directors to this company. There4, what's he saying? There's conflicts of interest here. The only escape root here is that the contract wasn't awarded in his ministry.

By Shaimaa Khalil in Jerusalem & Ali Abbas Ahmadi in London BBC News Israel's Supreme Court has struck down a controversial judicial reform that triggered nationwide protests last year against the Netanyahu government. The change would have limited the power of the Supreme Court in overturning laws it deemed unconstitutional. Critics say it would have severely undermined the country's democracy by weakening the judicial system. There is strong opposition to the current Netanyahu government, seen as the most right-wing in Israeli history. The Supreme Court's decision to overturn the law ed by the government in 2023 follows months of internal turmoil. Israel judicial reform explained: What is the crisis about? In July, the government ed into law what is now known as the "reasonableness" bill. This removed the power of the Supreme Court and lower courts in Israel to cancel government decisions it deemed to be "extremely unreasonable". The law caused widespread anger and division, prompting hundreds of thousands of protesters to take the streets calling for the reforms to be scrapped - and for the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Organisers said the weekly protests were the biggest street demonstrations in Israel's history. At the time, hundreds of military reservists - including air force pilots - threatened to refuse to report for service, which led to warnings that this could impair Israel's military capabilities. A statement from the Supreme Court said that 8 out of 15 judges ruled against the law, adding it would have caused "severe and unprecedented damage to the basic characteristics of the State of Israel as a democratic state". Israel's justice minister and architect of the law Yariv Levin criticised the judges for "taking into their hands all the powers" and called their decision to strike it down undemocratic. But opposition leader Yair Lapid welcomed the verdict, saying on X (formerly Twitter) that the country's top court had "faithfully fulfilled its role in protecting the citizens of Israel". One of the organisers involved in last year's large-scale protests against the law also welcomed the court's ruling. Shikma Bressler said in a video statement that the Supreme Court had for the moment removed "the sword of dictatorship from around our necks". The "reasonableness" law was part of a wider series of judicial reforms introduced by the Netanyahu government. These would have weakened the power of the Supreme Court to review or throw out laws, enabling a simple majority of one in the Knesset (parliament) to overrule such decisions. The government has also attempted to gain greater power over appointing judges, and to scrap the requirement for ministers to obey the advice of their legal advisers. Mr Netanyahu has argued that the changes are required to redress the balance between the judges and the politicians. The Supreme Court's ruling threatens to further undermine confidence in his government. Mr Netanyahu's Likud party said the decision opposed "the will of the people for unity, especially during wartime". Israel's leadership has been under pressure domestically for its perceived failure for preventing Hamas's attack on 7 October, and for so far proving unable to rescue all the Israeli hostages who were taken into Gaza. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67859177.amp |

Oga, It is not true, rather PDP will be more safer if they pick a Northerner in 2027. The Northerner is very angry with BAT. By PDP picking a Southerner as its presidential candidate in 2027, it is still irrelevant. Northerners who are even PDP would prefer to vote BAT who would likely be APC candidate to complete his last 4 year tenure. The Northerners know very well that if they vote a Southerner from PDP in 2027, he may likely do 8 years. Then adding BAT years will make it 12 for the south. So, PDP best bait in 2031, is by picking a Northerner.

Nigeria is really a contrasting country where things go in opposite directions. A person was gruesomely murdered by a group of religious extremists, they have not been charged to court and a person shared video of the murder, but she was accused of inciting violence and charged to court and kept in solitary confinement for 18 months for . What a contrasting country.
