Nostradamus1: LoL. If a student leave a Lab for reasons, it's only okay for the professor to find a replacement, so schools can roll out spring it even at this time. They expect you to depend on luck to get visa and it's okay if such candidate don't get it. Schools don't lose |

CreativeWeb: PhD isn't as competitive as masters, in term of getting funded and scholarship, Msc is the most difficult. Also, avoid schools that make it compulsory to select a"would -be " PI before they can review your app. It's an okay thing to do a professor but that's a long route as most of them won't even respond their email. PhD programs do lab rotation and you're expected to attend a seminar class in your First year where faculty will present their research and lab every week. This will guide you to choose a PI. Having a PI take you in with his funding is cool, but I will mostly advise people to apply to schools first for the majority of their applications. Although, talking to a professor will help you, if he replies anyways 3 Likes |

tellbiodun: If you're thinking about Fall 23,you should be deciding on how to package your application by now. Most schools decide on Fall ission by February, some in January and some have even decided. If you're considering Fall 23,try and send your application before January so you can have chance to get scholarships or funding. But if your transcript isn't ready at this time, consider spring application. Most schools that it for spring open application around May/June/July. If by statement of results, you mean the equivalent of a certificate? No you can't use that. You need transcript that detailed your course by courses modules and their ascribed grades. US schools doesn't even need certificate. Transcript is very very important. In case you want schools that it for spring, I might be able to offer help on that for people in STEM but just not for your kind of degree 2 Likes |

Kiddyong123ayo: I understand how you feel about this, and one thing you should know is that the outcome of an F1 Visa doesn't necessarily determine whether you're going to do fine in life or not. It's just what it is;a student visa . However, one thing I want to say is that the officers are trained to quickly look at applications and make decisions within a very short time frame. Contrary to what most people will tell you that the outcome of your F1 Visa has been determined before you appear just From your submitted DS 160. No. Officers don't take a look at your files before you appear for the interview as they have so many interview to grant on a daily basis. But your DS 160 should be packaged with good information that are only beneficial to your case. What happen in an F1 Visa interview is that The officer scan your port as you present yourself and the information on you DS 160 will appear right there. He pays close attention to what is in front of him than what you say sometimes. He looks for discrepancies in what you're saying and what you fill on your DS 160. You might've filled an information that revealed that you have nobody in the US. He'll ask questions relating to that and decide to serve rejection if what you say doesn't tally. Also, try as much as possible to go for the interview with credible schools and colleges. Someone that already has BSC in Nigeria and now going to a community college in the US will appear somehow. People in such cases have been granted visa and most were not. Lastly, the outcome of visa interview is still subjected to the interviewers discretion. And for the most part, interviewers have denied visa for no reasons. 10 Likes 1 Share |
