My 2003 Toyota Highlander brings out white smoke often... My mechanic said it's a sign of weak engine. But the vehicle still works well. What do you think I should do about it? Thank you.

The recommended oil for my Toyota highlander 2002 v6 is w5-30 but the person who has been using it in Nigeria before I bought it has been using w20 w50 Mobil oil for the past seven years. My question now is ; can I change to the manufacturer's recommended oil which is w5-30? because I started observing white smoke from the extust early in the morning. Pls I'm confused
