I was at the ilorin fair last week and I was picked by a firm but up till now I haven't heard anything from the firm or any update on my GIS .
This evening while checking I found out that my status online is "UNSUBSCRIBED" please is there a way to rectify the unsubscribed ish?

Psittacus glad to hear this that you ve been matched. I am one of intern that attended Ilorin fair last week but till now I have not heard anything either from the supposed 'employer' an IT firm that accepted me during nor from sure p or Bank. Pls what would you advise.

Hello, If it's a case of '' then you should use the link already sent to you by SURE-P or generate another one. If you can't use the link simply because it wasn't highlighted ("...i click on d link and is nt highlighted dis has been on for d 6 month....", then you should be aware that the link doesn't get highlighted in a 'Yahoo mail', just highlight the link and paste it on the address bar of your browser, then tap Enter on your keyboard, it should open to request that you set a new . puntersmind ....I Am already a victim of What u said,I have absolutely no idea about dis before I went for d fair at warri,(a lot of interns Happy home without confirming if they have bin match or not) So, when the company accepted me,I was Happy Until I get to the stage of matching when I realize that the company name was not among the in their (SURE-P) database, I was So disappointed.... I sent SURE-P a mail about it but no reply, I called the manager of the company and he keep saying he is working on it....Seriously,.I need to know if I should take my mind off this SURE-P program entirely or if there is Hope for me, also how possible it is for the issue to be resolve.... u have being a helping hand here and God will bless u for your reply and advice...... I apologise to the persons that dropped their email addresses for an invitation for the FCT fair that was conducted on the 28th of October. Firstly, I was too busy to send you guys mail to forward your names, Unique beneficiary code and phone number to me. Secondly, More than enough interns were already invited for the fair as at the 25th. I will try to make it up to you guys IF I can.

The deadline will be about the 5th of next month. Normally towards the end of the first week of the following month.

As a Non-SURE-P GIS staff, You can only know if a company is approved by logging into their portal, but I am aware that will be a difficult task for any intern. The problem actually comes from the fact that most companies cannot tell their status even when they to their portal. A clear indication that a company is not yet approved is if a company logs into its and sees ACCESS DENIED clearly written in Red in there, It shows the company is not yet approved, unfortunately the VENDORS that processes the invitation of companies for the internship fairs on behalf of SURE-P go ahead and reserve a space for some Unapproved companies to get matched with interns. Approval of companies is not done at the Internship Fair venue, though companies penciled down for Internship fair involvement get priority approvals, especially when the fair draws closer. ("To all concerned: Ask questions, make sure the Company who you were matched with is approved, so you don't waste your time".) To explain this earlier quote by me: It's highly unlikely that an Intern can find out the status of a company at the fair, but if and when you do not receive your Congratulatory email and the company seem not to know the steps to take, Ask the company to if they have been approved, so that you don't continue working with an Unapproved company - wasting your valuable time in the process.

I fear for some of the Interns matched at Enugu Fair. Some of the companies involved in the process over there were not approved and as such the Company will NEVER be up for intern matching online. The interns believe they are successful after the manual matching at the fair, For a matching process to be successfully done, the company has be be approved. If approved, the company becomes 'Active' online and can be seen on the matching screen. A particular company at the Enugu fair absorbed 6 interns and they all thought they have been properly matched, after one of the intern ed me, I discovered that the company was not even approved. To all concerned: Ask questions, make sure the Company who you were matched with is approved, so you don't waste your time.
