Ifeanyichukwu42: The whole world is short staffed. Over here in the U.S, companies are raising pays just to get people. Its now a stiff competition of who pays more. A lot of deaths last year globally. Up to the people that remove snow off the roads, school bus drivers, everywhere right now is short staffed. Covid really shook the world and still shaking everywhere till date. I am considered an essential worker because i work with a pharmaceutical company.. we ship medications to hospital all over U.S.... For more than 3months we had to work 12hrs straight every day because we were short staffed. Every day, associates were quiting in large numbers,, because they were under paid. According to people for the amount of work we put in everyday and the number of hours, $19 an hr is too small cos right now most retail companies are paying upto $23 an hour. If they don't raise our pay again, more people will start quiting all over again. I hope it doesn't get to that,, because working 12hrs and taking care of 3kids is no joke, driving to school and to and back from work on the Freeway. Smh! May God help us. American life no be joke ooo. Here na serious hussle. Now I understand what people living abroad say. The only difference is that here you work hard and see what you are working for, unlike in naija. I pray for everyone going through their Visa Journey. A lot has changed now compared to when we were going through our own VISA JOURNEY. Most times I have to read through just to see how things are done now. With all that is going on, in naija, excessive kidnapping, and all. Its sad sometimes reading the news, even about the young Nigerian boy that was bullied and killed in boarding house. It was such a sad case... and I hope the perpetrators don't get away with it. The decay is so bad now, even among teenagers. May God continue to help his Children. I am glad I am able to pop in once in a while and read through this amazing thread and see a lot of people being encouraged through their Visa Journey. Its hard when you have to wait for so long to reunite with your loved ones, but be rest assured it is worth the wait, cos people wey no get their paper for here na problem ooo. They go through a lot and they have to settle for less. No joke. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Ajenikoko89: I am well and family is doing great. Thank you so much. Just looking back and ing the night I started the thread while my first son was playing around in my bedroom back in Nigeria. The idea came to me, but the first thread I started was closed by one of the s. But I didn't give up, and thought of another topic to give it, and to my surprise it wasn't closed. This thread became a blessing to me on my visa journey, because I had a lot of help from here, and I am happy it's a blessing to many. Wish everyone all the best and please stay safe. 8 Likes |

Duuzsz: Its Not been easy at all with work and kids. I swear America is a different ball game with what we see in Hollywood. You do everything on your own. I have to keep up with 3kids and my mom and work.. Thank God I have her. After work or the weekend she and my step-dad help me with the kids, but as an African daughter. I still Play my mother and daughter role when I am home from work. That i have the time to check social media and even nairaland is because I am off work from now till the new year. Fixed my vacation for the end of the year. So its eat, sleep and take care of my family. Till Jan 4. |

Hello Everyone. Wow! Its been ages I found myself in here. I am glad this thread is still alive and helping people on their Visa Journey. Life and work has been great in General. Being careful with the Covid too. America is no joke ooo. Barely have time for myself, as I work round the clock. God is good and has been keeping us safe from this pandemic. How's everyone coping with their visa journey, and hope the covid, is not slowing things down. I have some time now as I am on vacation from now till the end of the year. Hopefully I would pop into the thread from time to time. Merry Christmas and a Happy new year everyone.

amas10: You should have your immunization records with the hospital you use. If not don't bother going for any shots ooo Like those Yellow fever shot that ppl going to Europe do. It will slow things down for u cos their shots are different at Qlife. The difference might Not be much. I the day i went for my medicals they made the announcement and said if anybody had taken any yellow fever shot. They had to send them home and schedule them for their medicals on another day. |

olu4life: This is a question you should ask the Visa officers on nairaland,. But with the little knowledge about it we can still help but i also strongly recommend you throw the question on the V.O's thread. This thread is just based on peoples experiences and little knowledge about the immigration processing. The V.o's give you an accurate information. Siblings filed Cases, if the beneficiary is married, his Family will go with him. Wife and Underaged Children. But of cos all their Visa Fees and immigrant fees would be paid for even to a baby. 2) Any adult Children would have Aged out, they will NOT be included ., So that means the adult children's parents will be the ones to file for them after they have left for the U.S. Any Kids if the siblings who have given birth can be included, as long as they are underaged. |

Tbabe11: Mine took 2working days. I went for interview on a Wednesday, by Friday i got the email late in the evening that my Visa is ready for pickup. But i went to DHL office on monday morning to pick it up. You don't call them. You will receive an email from them. Some say they get Text message. Just keep checking your mail. To think How time flies. By this time last year, i was getting ready for my interview on August 15 and now i am almost a Year in the states. For you guys waiting for yours it will come soon and everything will fall into place. Just hang in there, all will be well. 7 Likes 1 Share |

hammed71: How na. They will put their current names on there. They just need to see your sworn affidavit, with your parents names and there. They will type it in the national population certificate. Are you not bearing your fathers name? That shouldn't be a problem. My mom's name was different from my dads name, cos it was my stepdads name that was her Surname and it was on attestation of birth. Wasn't an issue at all. |

yemco74: Go and get the National attestation of birth records. That is what is recognized. If you live in lagos, i think their office is in Surulere. |

daddytime: God bless you real good. She might not be good enough now. Doesn't mean she will not be good enough tomorrow. Some Men don't know that women do change, and change is the only constant thing in Life. He met her when she was just 19, now she is 21. What does a child know?. For the sake of her kids, she might end up being the best woman for him. He would definitely end up regretting it, if he doesn't marry her. This case Is just a similar case with a friend of mine who met her then boyfriend when she was 19. They had dated for 4years and he was her 1st love. When they Met, she didn't know how to cook or do much, but out of love for him, she was so determined to learn and be better. Along the line, the guy travelled to London and then met another lady, and after 9months, decided the babe was not good enough for him, and then dumped her, that she was a Uni drop out and his dad would not be happy with that and the fact that she was from another tribe. Long story short, she met someone else, she became a fantastic cook, ran a successful business., and 10years after he dumped her, she moved to the United States Legally with her family,,,....is working now and getting ready to go back to the University. How Great is God? But I sure hope the Ex is regretting his actions. ![]() ![]() 2 Likes |

Santa2: Write NVC to inform them immediately so the date of birth can be changed. And hope what's on the port is your dad's real date of birth? Cos your dad's Brother making mistake on his birthdate is highly unlikely as that is family. That being said, Hope the birth date on the port is the real deal? Cos he has traveled with it on a B1 B2 Visa, make una no contradict wetin dey your dad Birth Certificate. |

tyup: You have the sense, and then you wrote all that? He should deport both, Legal and illegal immigrants. ? Or you did not read your write up? Abeg park well. Why Mention Biafra? And I asked you, if you were LEGAL, and waited Several Years for your turn before you emigrate, would you ask the President to deport you? Don't Envy people. If Nigeria is frustrating you, you have your choice to Leave. Shikena. |
