The management of Access Bank Plc has pleaded with their customers for understanding following an online campaign calling for boycott, Igbere TV reports.

The bank s of at least eight persons involved in the #EndSARS campaign were frozen based on the orders of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The s were frozen about two weeks before CBN obtained a court order to do so, Igbere TV learnt.

Proponents of the call for boycott say the bank should have been more thorough like Stanbic IBTC whose founder Atedo Peterside openly refused to freeze the of any person without a valid court order.

However, in a statement on Friday, Access Bank said it symphatised with the affected persons, adding it was looking forward to unfreezing the s.

“We want to express our sympathy for the inconvenience that eight of our customers are going through due to the restrictions on their s as mandated by a federal court order. We are eager for this to be resolved as soon as possible,” the statement read.

“It is common knowledge that we and the entire banking industry are regulated entities and therefore operate under the authority of our regulators and law enforcement agencies. As such we are compelled to comply with regulatory directives.

“While acknowledging the concern of all well-meaning parties, we urge that enquiries and views be channeled to the relevant regulatory and judicial agencies where the matter is receiving attention.

“It is therefore surprising that some individuals still choose to target Access Bank in a negative manner despite not being the source of the action.”

Stupid hoodlums.
Trying always hard to find a means by which terror must be unleashed.
Fact: The people whom s are frozen are too gentle to cause mayhem.
The stupid and hopeless touts in the street are our headache!!!

They want to Target access bank again, whereas the damages caused in the recent paroteSt has not been repaired.

See ehn, unless we start appreciating what we have,we will never value and fully understand what we don't have when we eventually get it.

Let all Nigerians boycott Access Bank. Access bank is the most useless bank in Nigeria.

You people think we don't know why some of us have stayed with StanbicIBTC for more than 10 years now.

Atedo Peterside is a sensible man, where as Access Bank has become a political stung against the people. They also quickly donated billions to the government during covid & later started deductions from the customers. People need to boycott their bank as a protest.

Lol. Take the youths for granted at your own peril.

To be honest, it was beyond their power though.

One thing remains, the youths have finally put everybody on his/her toes in Nigeria. Both individuals and corporate entities. E.g. Desmond Elliot, Mojisola Ali-Macauley, Raji Fashola, Tinubu, Sawon-Olu, Access Bank, etc. Let everyone mark it down, 2023 will be different and the #EndSars will EVER be part of Nigeria history of modern change. God bless all the great Heroes of 20-10-2020

Nigerian banks are highly regulated. They are always bullied by the regulatory agencies just the way Buhari bullies all Nigerians. We are cowards in this country. Why not attack CBN?
