there is no way you can get visa by October 30. Are you sure its not a scam job As the employer should tell the visa procedures

the company should be applying for the visa for you (not the way around) and they would also arrange for your plane tickets etc... if you need to PAY ANYTHING then you are being taken for a ride by scammers.

did they even send you a contract to sign etc?!

I know someone who got scammed in a similar way.

He paid for the visa and flight fare, resigned from his job. Just few days to his last day at his place of work, he realized that he had been scammed.

2. Or you applied to a job you saw online?

This looks like a scam to me. DO NOT PAY any money to anybody. If you have already paid, just observe one minute silence for the money and move on and count it as lesson learned.

sadly, these scammers use the desperation of people to defraud them. NO foreign company will hire staff in another country and not provide the necessary visa/travel/place to stay, unless you are talking to some greedy middlemen (and therefore these middlemen should provide visa/travel and place to stay when you arrive in that foreign country)... and they will be paid out of your 1st salary etc.

Thank you all for all your responses and advice. The job is a ministerial job. As an Assistant Pastor. Yes, a job offer letter and employment contract document was sent and I have signed and returned it to the Organization. Part of their mail to me read thus:

".............as the recruitment agency, will forward a signed copy of your Job Offer/agreement document to the ESDC Office here in Ottawa Canada, They will Approve your employment by issuing the (Employment Verification Letter); which will be forwarded to this office, with detailed instruction on How to process your Canadian Permanent Resident permit through the Home Immigration office here in Ottawa."

Do you think it is a scam? Nobody has asked me to pay a dime. Yes, i got the job online, did the interview and filled some forms. Though in their agreement document, it was stated that I will be the one to pay the traveling expenses. I have been on it for a while. I just got this offer few days ago.

scam, there is nothing like home immigration office in canada. When its time to process the visa they will link you to a so called agent and the billing starts. Assistant pastor in yukon indeed. A place with only 30000 residents.

the recruitment agency should pay for travel/visa etc, and then take their cut (as they would anyway) from your salary. thats how they get paid.

the company's HR directly.... you can find their via Google, not from the email thats you've been receiving, and talk to them directly to confirm employment offer etc

I don't think i get you.. you mean you saw a job ad online for a position of an assistant pastor in Canada? I have never come across such ad in my life.
