That is why I stop writing new book for now, rather I focus on updating content and republishing many of my books.
once I see very important info about what I have written before, I pull the book down, update and perhaps, two weeks later the book is back on sale

I think this is working for me because most of the books are Kindle exclusive. I don't know how right or wrong I am on this ... asap

As a Mass communicator, I still recall how in one of the journalism classes, back then: we were told that "the source of the news is more important than the news". Without a source a news is as worthless as anything you can think of.
Atleast you know how we do it here on nairaland , when we ask people to stop spreading fake news if we can't find a credible source of their news.

Fiction readers want to know more about the author's personality. It enhances the buying choice.
This is is because the fact that you're telling an imaginary story doesn't mean that it should lack element of reality.
And one major thing that boost interest and believeability of a fiction book is the background of the author.
So try creating an author page with Amazon author central platform, if you major in Fiction Books
Unfortunately, if you're a newbie, with very little in your CV as a writer, your author page may demote you rather than promote you, there's nothing you can do about that anyway, rather than hope that someday you will become a celebrity too.

Oops! What if I write with a pen name. You may succeed: recall that the famous "Animal Farm" was written with a pen name "Goerge Orwell" too

Fiction books sells bro; you just have to find the right pattern.

I write fiction books and I am doing fine. Non fiction books are also great. Pen names are useless to me; I use my Nigerian name.

Integrity is very important in fiction books. That's all I can say.

The skill needed for non fiction is much easier as compared to fiction, my opinion though.

You will also notice how to rea people mind like a book this a title of a best seller book, and know what everybody is saying this also a title of a popular book by an ex FBI agent (John Navarro). So when people search for this popular book, my own book will also show up and It give more leverage, and this means more money.
how to be best seller
You need to make sales to be best seller, but there are some categories that just require maybe 20 sales per day, to be best seller.

This where kdprocket is useful, you will see all categories that are easier to rank for, copy 10 of them and message Amazon to help put your book there.

The other way if you don't have kdprocket is to go this site blknk.com and copy the ISBN number of the best seller, it will show you all their categories and you just need to copy it and tell Amazon to input your book there.
Also try run free promo for at least three day, but this is optional.
