Try building a mini forum. Center it around topics, categorize the topics by section, try to give it two level of s at least and restrict rights. keep it simple.

Take any website and try to recreate it. The complex of them all should be e-commerce website....get the concept and you in it

The main problem there is that you'll be doing free work.
