The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has said that the police will treat of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) as terrorists.

Adamu said this on Tuesday at the monthly conference with senior police officers in Abuja, Igbere TV reports.

A Federal High Court in Abuja had last Friday proscribed the group and directed the Federal Government to publish it in two national dailies.

Adamu said Shiites “will be treated like terrorists and enemies of state” and prosecuted under the Terrorism Act, including anyone associating with them in any way that could advance their activities in the country.

He added that “all forms of procession or protest by IMN is now illegal and thus banned”.

One just has to take a look at Lebanon to understand the threat they pose

Some have argued that because the El Zaki who what ever they call his name has a personal security outfit means they pose a threat.

In Lebanon, the Shiites have hezbollah (The Party of God). Though it has a well armed militant wing, it has never been a threat to the country.

A lady called hezbollah, "A state within a non-state"- in reference to their legendary discipline that they have. Despite the Shiites ing for 27% of the country's population, they've neither proven to be a threat or destabilizing force.

An exaggeration of a threat is more often worse than the threat itself.

What if they also show their terrorism part? What if they start the terrorism act when it can simply be resolved now? Isn't this how Boko Haram started?


I think there's some agenda going on underground with these happenings. Later, innocent soldiers will be the ones to sacrifice their lives to fight the new terrorists while police are on the road taking bribes.

Those expressing displeasure at Buhari's appointment should ask themselves if he has done anything he said he wouldn't do?
Buhari campaigned and was voted for his promise to appoint only men of integrity into his cabinet. I must say that i respect him for using the same integrity standard to judge both his friends and enemies.

The appointment may seem lopsided, as some Geo-political zones have not benefited yet. But the bottom-line is that Nigerians want men of proven integrity that can get things done for the country even if my brother or zone does not benefit personally. the interest of Nigeria should supersede our selfish interests. If you appoint my cousin and he makes the country worse off, what benefit have i derived from his appointment?

Let us allow Buhari to complete his appointments and plan for Nigeria, then we can judge if the man had acted in the best interest of Nigeria or for self aggrandizement for himself and his cronies.
