If you can read the thread from the beginnjng, you will get more than enough information for the journey ahead. It's a journey, cos it takes times and lots of effort to get the desired result. Someone here applied for PHD data science in the last ission cycle, you can find him on the thread, I'm sure you will gain from his experience. |

Experience has shown that amongst the four tests written in IELTS exam, writing is the one that gives most candidates headache. In fact many fail it. The reason is not far fetched. Most people can speak well, but when it comes to writing it becomes a real problem. In fact I have met candidates who are working in top establishments and holding reputable positions but have horrible writing skills. This is not intended to run anyone down or scare you but to help your realize the enormity of the situation. Furthermore, it's not just enough to know how to make good sentences or spell correctly (although these are necessary) but knowing how to organise your points before writing, writing a strong and appropriate introduction (your introduction could be inappropriate or weak), coining out your thesis statement and topic sentence, developing the body of your writeup and writing a good conclusion, are all necessary for you to have a high band score in your writing test. To that end, A1gradeeducation has made things easy and simplified for you. Kindly visit www.a1gradeeducation.com and you will be glad you did. It is important to note that IELTS is not as difficult as you may think. As a seasoned tutor, with over 95% of my candidates succeeding in the test (scoring 7.5 and above), I have deemed it necessary to put together the secret to succeeding in the test on www.a1gradeeducation.com. You don't necessarily need to go to a physical centre or be taught by a physical tutor in order to succeed. All you just need to do is know and employ the tactics for each of the test (writing, reading, speaking and listening). The website, www.a1gradeeducation.com, is so designed that each test contains simplified explanations that can help you ace the exam. Besides, it contains all you need to know about the IELTS exam and the grading system. So please visit a1gradeeducation.com. Nevertheless, if you need a physical tutor, you can reach me on 07038536174 or [email protected]. Please watch out as I will also be adding on the website, www.a1gradeeducation.com, the secret of succeeding in the following exams: SAT TOEFL GRE GMAT To learn about the speaking test, please go to: www.a1gradeeducation.com/2019/04/the-ielts-speaking-test.html?m=1 To learn about the writing test, please go to: www.a1gradeeducation.com/2019/03/the-ielts-writing-test.html?m=1 Please note that the IELTS writing test is divided into tasks 1 and 2. The task 1 format is different for both the academic and general categories ( you will either sit for the academic or general). Whereas the format for task 2 is the same for both categories. To learn about the academic task 1 writing, please go to: www.a1gradeeducation.com/2019/04/writing-task-1-academic.html?m=1 To learn about the general task 1 writing, please go to: www.a1gradeeducation.com/2019/04/writing-task-1-general.html?m=1 To learn about the writing task 2, please go to: www.a1gradeeducation.com/2019/04/writing-task-2.html?m=1 To learn about the reading test, please go to: www.a1gradeeducation.com/2019/03/the-ielts-reading-test.html?m=1 To learn about the listening test, please go to: www.a1gradeeducation.com/2019/04/the-ielts-listening-test.html?m=1 To learn about the IELTS test format and scoring system, please go to: www.a1gradeeducation.com/2019/01/ielts-test-format-and-scoring-system.html?m=1 |

am officially bowing out of the ission process for fall 2019 grin cheesy, what a process. I accepted an offer earlier this week. A little about me Undergrad: Statistics, CGPA:4.07/5, unofficial WES evaluation:3.47/4 I decided to apply for ission just in December although I have followed the thread for almost a year now. I wrote my GRE in February and prepared for less than two months: 161Q,153V, 3.0AW. Most of the requirement for the schools were met in the third week of February because of GRE but I submitted my applications before then. The ission decisions so far Villanova University: itted but awaiting funding Bowling Green State University: itted but awaiting funding University of iowa: Rejected Georgia State University: itted with GA which has full tuition waiver and some stipends George Washington University: Pending Michigan Technological University: itted without funding American University: itted with some funding but was not sufficient I was using style to wait for GWU but I have finally gone for GSU as it was the best offer so far coupled with the course: Master's of Mathematics with concentration in Biostatistics. Fall. 2019, yes we can Congrats! 18 Likes 1 Share |

So I wrote my GRE Today, For a little back story, I just graduated a little over three months ago, and got a job immediately as a software engineer, at a fast moving company, with periodic crazy deadlines. So, I had to squeeze in time during mornings at nights to prepare, and learn as much vocabulary as I could. Fast forward to test Day, I arrived at Dragnet prometric 2 hours before the test, did a quick review, and was first on the line. Got the quant section first, let's just say, it was deadlier than I thought, too many geometry problems, and i loathe euclidean circle geometry a lot. I moved on to the verbal; few mistakes here and there, but I just basically free styled. At the end of the test, I was assured that I had done very terribly, and was superbly afraid to click "report scores". Then I clicked QUANTITATIVE - 163 VERBAL - 161 TOTAL - 324 I feel i did terrible in the quant, as i focused too much on the verbal during prep, but I hope to never write GRE ever again, I accept my 324 "laidat". Profile Bsc. Electrical and Electronics Engineering GPA - 4.74/5 WES (UNOFFICIAL) 3.82/4.0 GRE - 324 ( Q-163 V-161) SCHOOLS STANFORD UNIVERSITY -PHD UT AUSTIN - PHD RICE - PHD CMU AFRICA - MSC cc- scholastica16 quoran Great profile. Please would love a private chat with you. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Javanian: Congratulations. UNT seems like a great choice. Did you send official transcripts to UNT or them during your application? I will appreciate a reply. Thanks. |
Javanian: 8:19pm On May 05, 2019 |
NoQualms1: I "ed". Not really "ed", If I correctly, I had to send it to them by email along with some other documentation. That is their procedure for international students. For domestic students, it is quite different. Also, have your original degree certificate handy, they will request for it during application. 1 Like |

A NGO through a government scheme plans to give some tuition fee . I wanna know if the letter to take to the embassy is enough or they will be the one to mail the embassy the letter. Same letter is what I plan to send to the school alongside other source of funding for i20. What your take based on experience house? |

Can someone who has written GRE, for the love of sponsored Ph.D, tell me how best to go about memorizing Vocabs? Also, would you advise one to focus on his strengths (reading comprehension) and pray the vocabs in sentence equivalence and text completion are friendly? |
favor100: 9:19am On May 09, 2019 |
Hey guys what advice would you give someone planning to start school next fall but with little research experience asides academics and I have graduated already, intend to do my masters in sustainability/energy engineering. What can I do to improve my chances apart from Gre. Can you recommended any skills or training I can get involved from now to boost my chances.

Augustinadangs:There are apps available on play store to assist you in having a grasp of the recondite vocabs. I'll recommend Magoosh vocab. I'll advice you master SE and TC very well. Try to get almost all the SC/TC questions in quick time, you can then focus the bulk of your time on reading comprehension. This worked for me and several others. I will implore you to read through the thread and learn from the experience of those that have done the test before. It's understandable that verbal part is the 'bad guy' of the GRE, everyone had to deal with it head on. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Crane1: Physics is the ultimate science. You're good to go. Write your GRE & TOEFL early...Get great scores. Use usnews.com to search for schools...you can easily plug in your subject of interest and search from there. Be temperate and measured in your choice of schools, though. Cheers. 3 Likes |
