suzzyallen: I think you should look further away from the CBD for now. Accommodation that are 30 minutes in proximity to the CBD are very expensive. Check further away as a temporary measure. You can check, Liverpool, Blacktown, Paramatta etc |

bellong: Yes, I have already asked our agent for that price range after I saw his post. I am waiting for a response. I wanted to get an update before responding to his query. I will come back with something hopefully. 4 Likes |

qeezo101: What kind of visa are you coming on? Read from the beginning of the thread. A couple of people shared their experiences and I believe nothing much has changed. |

suzzyallen: This is the reality. An airbnb for $100 per night would still amount to $700 per week. But then, you can play around with the filters on the airbnb website. Look out for ensuite rooms (Masters bedroom). They are usually cheaper than renting the whole unit. And then also look out for studio apartments. Yes, you would need a cheaper place to stay for at least 1 to 2 weeks. If that's still not working, look for like 2 double rooms in the same house. Airbnb hosts are usually nice. Some would understand your condition and be flexible. And then, while on that, jump on the real estate website. Sort by prices. Low to high. And target places that are available immediately and already have inspection dates scheduled. Hopefully you find something soon. |

Greetings of The Day, Please, I want to be enlightened on a Class XB Visa (842) to Australia.... I went online to do some little research and found out it is strictly under Offshore Humanitarian Visa. What can you say about this? Pros and cons and the rest about it. Can one go ahead with the process under this package? To your honour TYOSHO, I have sent you mail via nairaland and to the rest in Australia, please respond as this will help a brother of yours immeasurably. Thanks |
bellong: 9:25am On Oct 20, 2018 |
M3A16: Humanitarian visa is for asylum seekers. You will have to provide convincing evidence and reasons for seeking asylum. I am not sure you will be approved from Nigeria because the country is not at war not any serious persecution going on against a tribe or people. The visa processing also takes a very long time. |

jayooh: why not use IOM which offers better rate worth about about 49% discount (via emirates airline) their Australia office can get you tickets within 48hrs unlike NG office. 1 Like |

bellong: A lot of thanks for this ma/sir, but if there are signs that this will go through, does it worth trying? Are there any side effects? What about the living conditions there for the people under this package? Do they have the same right that people like you and the rest of others who entered there through other legitimate ways have? Will they be able to leave the country at their will? I really appreciate. |

Alphadoor: No stops policy. I wan stop within the subcontinent for like 7 days. More so tickets from some of these online agents are less than 400k |
Alphadoor: 10:27pm On Oct 20, 2018 |
jayooh: Oh I see. I agree the discounted ticket doesn't give much flexibility. But still Emirates na Emirates sha ![]() ![]() Egypt Air is the cheapest at 380k that I've seen You can check gotogate and vayama for good deals. Also try booking the legs separately, combined routes sometimes cost more. 1 Like |

suzzyallen:Like already mentioned, your best bet is Airbnb. To anyone coming to Australia, book your accommodation months ahead once you know the date you will leave Naija, that way you get nicer places closer to the city at cheaper rates or places further from the city a lot cheaper than if you booked 2 or 3 weeks to departure. I will advise if it's just you, to book a room in a flat, that should be fine. In a city like Melbourne you'll get places for 40 dollars not to far from the city for a room in a house. For families look for 1 bedroom and filter for entire apartment, that way you get either a studio or a 1 bedroom but with the house to yourself. If you do that early rather than later you will get really good deals. Cities like Melbourne and Sydney get lot of visitors who use Airbnb and plan their trips months ahead. Also ensure you book the place for at least 2 weeks, 3 weeks would be ideal. You might need a few days to recover from the jetlag and then set yourself up(bank, TFN, Medicare and others) and except you can do all these while looking for an apartment it would be demanding. Also try to schedule iinspections before you arrive towards the week of your arrival for rentals in the area you would want to live, just so it gives you a good head start. All the best. NB; I just might post this in the other forum because most people here have 'landed'. 3 Likes |

Alphadoor: Have you been able to book via IOM to any mainland Australia state? What was the ticket price if so? Maybe I'd just do IOM for international and Online for local. NB. The Egypt air ticket will have Etihad operating 1 or 2 trips, not so bad. Etihad is cool too I suppose ![]() |
Alphadoor: 7:04am On Oct 21, 2018 |
jayooh:I No too sabi geography., so the mainland thing not clear to me. But I was charged 434k to Sydney. Yes etihad operates the last leg of the trip and they are equally capable. For the sake of long trip stress. I am pro Emirates as they offer excellent flight experience and good seats with the best in-flight entertainment and meals and drinks and ![]() However expect the trip to take like 4 days due to two layer overs which maybe upto 24 hrs combined and delays especially in Cairo. Local flights in Australia are quite cheap. Booking ahead now if you have arrival dates already as it will definitely save you cost If I get you right? Is your initial plan to do a trip with a single airline with 7 days stop at maybe Perth then continue on Sydney 7 days later..... ![]() IMO. Do IOM to anywhere in OZ. Then use sky scanner to do local flight to final destination. And if the state you land is not too far from each other and you want to be an explorer You can enjoy a bus tour to you next destination ![]() 1 Like |
