Yoruba people are neither here nor there. Forget that Buhari won, many of them did not even vote.
Igbos voted in Obasanjo (1999), voted in Goodluck (2011) but with the Biafra agitation in its prime in 2015, many of us lost interest in Nigerian politics.
Even the Yoruba votes for Goodluck in 2011 were negligable. The few of them that voted were neither here nor there. They were waiting for someone to be crown winner in order to claim "we voted him".
Trust the Yorubas at your own peril.
Kano’s Votes Alone Were More Than What The Entire South-West Gave Buhari - Waku
Nigerians brought Buhari to office –Northern leaders
Posted by Ibraheem Musa KADUNA
Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie has debunked the notion that the All Progressives Congress(APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was single-handedly responsible for President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the 2015 polls because of votes from the South-West. Speaking to our correspondent on phone, Coomassie said the claim attributed to Tinubu is grossly inaccurate.
According to the former Inspector General of Police, the Southwest sat on the fence during the last election as some people voted for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), while others voted for APC during the presidential election.
The ACF Chairman, who said that although he has not seen where Tinubu made the claim or where the claim was attributed to him, promised that the Pan Northern group will issue a formal statement.
Speaking in the same vein, Alhaji Bello Maitama Yusuf, former Internal Affairs Minister in the Second Republic, pointed out that the votes of Kano State alone was more than what the entire South West gave Buhari.
In his own reaction, the North West zonal Vice Chairman of APC, Barrister Inuwa AbdulKadir, said that the issue is not the number of votes, but the spread. He said that an analysis of the result shows that all sections of Nigeria contributed in giving victory to APC in the last election.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Joseph Waku, in an interview with Sunday Telegraph, last week, has said all Nigerians voted for President Buhari, contrary to the claim that APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu brought him to power, “Nigerian needed a change and the driver of that change is Buhari.
Let no Nigerian deceive you. Take it or leave it, Buhari won the election. Full stop. Tinubu must have contributed more than the rest of us, but you cannot take away the fact that Buhari won the election and to say Tinubu brought Buhari to power is an over-exaggeration.
A lot of Nigerians and other party leaders contributed a lot. Kano State alone contributed about 1.8 million to Buhari’s total score, and so did many states in the North. Kano’s votes is more than the votes of the entire South-West,” Waku said.

Why Igbo are not rich – Leo Stan
By Chinonso Alozie, Owerri
The Chairman Zinox Group, Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh Monday said that lack of humility has remained a very big obstacle among young Igbo people. He made this statement during a youth entrepreneurship workshop held at the Imo state University, IMSU, auditorium. According to him, “There is a reason why you see young people in Igbo land do not grow. One is lack of humility. You see a boy who has 20,000 and he wants a professor to stand up for him. Let me tell you, if you are humble, God will promote you. You have to delete some things that are not relevant to your life and move forward.” “You cannot be negative and be successful. You must be positive to get something positive. This is the problem of an Igbo man. He added that, ” Most of the Igbo men are technically not rich.” He, however, said that the current recession did not affect him because he was prepared, adding that, “I am not afraid of the recession and I am not affected. I do not have God father, what I did was to use my knowledge to to succeed.” While advising young people doing business, he said, ” I must tell you, as a young who is doing business, have it at the back of your mind that when you are doing business you must loose money to make money, adding that,” They must build the fundamentals to succeed in their business.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/12/igbo-not-rich-leo-stan/

Notify me when the Fulani sultan of Sokoto facilitates Yoruba moozlesm with eyeglasses to see the moon. Right now, they're regarded as infidels and incapacitated to see ordinary moon in their backyard. Even me as a Catholic can see the moon.
Yorubas Are The Problem With Nigeria says Sanusi Lamido Sanusi
The Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude.
The Yoruba elite and area-boy politics;
Igbo marginalisation and the responsible limits of retribution; and
The Yoruba Factor and “Area-boy” Politics.
My views on the Yoruba political leadership have been thoroughly articulated in some of my writings, prime among which was ” Afenifere: Syllabus of Errors” published by This Day (The Sunday Newspaper) on Sept 27, 1998. There was also an earlier publication in the weekly Trust entitled ” The Igbo, the Yoruba and History” (Aug. 21, 1998).
In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude.
The Yoruba elite were the first, in 1962, to attempt a violent overthrow of an elected government in this country. In 1966, it was the violence in the West which provided an avenue for the putsch of 15th January. After Chief Awolowo lost to Shagari in 1983 elections, it was the discontent and bad publicity in the South-West which led to the Buhari intervention.
