Hello everyone,
I had a personal experience at the embassy today and would love to read your advice. I had my interview today for an F1 visa and was denied. During the interview the lady asked who filled out my ds-160 I did and she said why did I only put my last trip instead of my last 5 trips I told her I did not read it that way when I was filling out. Then she asked how much I paid for my child's delivery and his surgery and my child's birth date I equally told her I told her the surgery was paid from his health insurance being a citizen and then she got angry and said I refused to pay for my son's surgery and I am ready to spend more money for school I said to her the studies is being sponsored. She still refused oh.
Now, I have been to the US a couple of times on a B1 visa on the last visit I had my baby and he needed surgery which will be done at his 3 months of age, I was going to overstay my visa and applied for an extension this was granted after I returned home after the surgery. I went for the F1 visa in Dec and was denied and this time again.
Pls what do I need to do to get my visa granted.
Thank you all so much for your time and anticipated .

First. Sorry for the issues
2nd . This thread is for B visa but because you applied on a B visa ist and stretched it
I'll help u pinpoint your issues sha.
1. You didn't fill the form properly. You omitted vital details.this is not the ist time you are applying for a visa so that story of not reading the form properly may be disbelieved.
The vo probably assumed you wanted to hide some details
2. When you birth in the USs, it is assumed that you have the financial werewithal to handle any emergency. Now, a Nigerian non tax payer, you and your son have never contributed anything to their economy took health insurance simply because he was born in the US. Technically , no law was broken. But VO's are human beings and a lot of Americans are upset cos we always take medicaid.
3. With you B visa, you now also applied for an extention. This shows a predisposition to finding your way around the system. Again, not illegal BUT the vo's personal beef comes into play again. With an F visa, and longer time to stay who knows what you will do to remain permanently in the US. Or the guarantee that you will pay (speaking as a VO)
Basically the medicaid is the main issue. So if you can find a Way to refund the medicaid.....e go hard

Hello house pls I had my 2nd baby in the US. I went with my 2year old son and hubby brought us back to naija. Early this year hubby and I traveled to the states leaving the kids behind for our anniversary. Now we are planning to take the kids for Christmas based on my friends invite (just me and d kids, hubby can't take leave in December) our visas will expire in November.
Please how much will it cost to renew via Dropbox.
Do I need to include my baby's hospital reciept
Infact what are the necessary steps I need to take for renewal.
Check the US website. The process for ddropbox renewal is detailed. The documents you can submit are also listed. Reciepts are not included. If they want to see those, you will be invited for an interview

E go Hard, means what exactly? I won't be able to refund the money? Or until I refund I can't be granted entry.

Yes and no... I don't think you're ban and at the same time you need to apply for dropbox (B1/B2) to know what is going on.

Hello Lady Guinivere

My wife and I were given a b visa, we attended the interview together and told d VO that we will travel together. But for some reasons, I want her to go first for visit and return home, then much later in the year we will go together. My question is - will she have problems at POE with custom and border patrol or any other authority given that we were supposed to travel together but she traveled alone?

Cheers.

CBP's are human beings with different levels nd types of were. They will always ask questions. Some can make issues out of nothing. Some don't just care.
The advice remains the same.have a valid reason for any question. If you can't travel with her, u can't travel with her. If asked why, she will explain why.
Peoplle have issues only when they cannot give reasonable answers to questions.
Be that as it may, from my own personal experience, that rarely raises any dust

If you answer questions from CBP with the truth and do not get confused, they will believe you.
They are well trained to spot falsehood.

This reminds me of a neighbor (we became close friends later) sometimes ago whose wife took advantage of her son being a 'citizen' for medicals n never paid. Years after, the hubby wanted to travel, he was denied on that ground. He became a commissioner in one state and he was stil denied visa. I think it was when their protocol something something requested for d reason that they said he used medical facility without paying. A lawyer advised him to go pay up.
So if you can pay up n then wait a while to reapply! IMO.

Aside from prior travel history which is just a factor that doesn't give a final outcome to visa rejection, you as an applicant already made this rejection an easy cake for the CO.

A simple question(s) often asked:
>>Why are you going to the States?
>>Where do you intend to visit in the States?

This is your chance to make a first impression. But often time, applicants still give vague replies. As the situation is in your case.

Your purpose for travel is not clear. Even the fact that you have family member(s) in the U.S. is the more reason you must be clear with a desire for travel.

Give it some time and apply in future.

Good day house,
Please I crave for your opinion on the matter below :
I got my b1/b2 visa while studying in the uk to attend a conference in the us which i attended for 3days. But 7months before the expiration of the visa I got ission to study in the us for my masters and because I was through with my studies in the UK I returned to Nigeria to apply for my f1 visa but I was denied, below is transcipt:
VO: I saw you just finished a course in the UK.
Me: Yes
VO: So who will be sponsoring you for the couse i the us
Me: I will be ed by my mum and I will contribute a part from the proceed of the business i run with a brother to which am a Director.
VO: You are not eligible

Now my question is this, I intend to renew my b1/b2 visa to visit a cousin in the us, please in your opinion what do you think I need to worry about, also am eligible for renewal through dropbox? I look forward to reading from you

Regards

No tangible means to fund your studies according to you. The CO wasn't convinced with your statement. Apply again when your circumstances change substantially.

All the best! smiley

Thank you so much for this. I honestly believe your above statement, cos I was expecting more questions (specific questions) I didn't want to be too forward. This has caused me my visa this month.
