A few days ago, Whatsapp announced that the'll be restricting to all blackberry, Nokia S40, S60 and older android smartphones. This implies that this phones can't use whatsapp any longer.

Just this morning i got a push notification to update my whatsapp to the latest version and BOOM, There goes my whatsapp from my blackberry phone.

Anyway, that's the only way they can stop us from using whatsapp on this devices. So if you still wish to use your whatsappp on you Nokia, Blackberry, Just ignore the push notification to update your whatsapp that way you can still use the app.

Eyah blackberry and nokia.. But thought they said sometime this year and not this early?? How true is this?? Why is no one else complaining?

Eventually the app would notify you about the new update and after a while will become inactive until you update it. At least that's what I've observed on Android.

hi. I have an issue with my camon c8. the tethering and hotspots keep consuming data megabytes up to 400 mb in a day. and I don't even switch it on. the mb consumption happens on the back ground. have you experienced it? any solution?

Try this: Go to their official site and re- it, then manually install it.

The problem must be with your phone, because if they are ready to stop for these phones, they won't provide any update at all.

after some weeks those who haven't updated won't be able to use the app/service. it'll forcefully require you to update

Hi There, its actually not your internet subscription data/mb that is being consumed. I presume you use Xender, flashshare or one of these apps that makes use of hotspot to share apps, so your net manager just records all the transferred data size and lump it together.

Sir, I even used that morning cos my biz depends on the app. Was even in the middle of a very important conversation and also needed to go and have a shower tho get ready for the days work when the notification came in. So I thought it would be good to just set it to update while I hit the showers. When it was fine I restarted my phone only to find out that whatsapp pushed an empty update to my phone. I quickly ed the new development and switched my whatsapp to my dormant Microsoft Lumia phone.
