Please guys am getting confused what's the difference between atm card, credit card& debit card....... Your comment count please....

atm cards are cards that can work on the anytime money machine (atm machine)

your atm card being credit or debit depends on your agreement bank.

with credit cards you pay for things on credit and after a stipulated time agreed on with you and your bank you pay back the money spent.

debit cards are directly linked to your and when you buy things using a debit card money is deducted directly from you


so basically credit and debit cards are type of cards that can work on atms pos etc

If you did not apply for credit card from 1st bank, then it's a debit card. It can be used for online transactions.

Nice responses from the top but let me just add this, there is nothing like atm card since the card is not designed for ATM alone (it is used on POS and online transactions), you either have a debit card or a credit card. Some people will even go as far as calling it ATM.

I suggest u with PayPal. I hv used my ordinary ATM debit card to buy something in dollars and I got it. I used PayPal. In case u dnt know Hw PayPal works. its an international, highly secure means of payment. when u , they Link ur normal ATM with d PayPal . so u can pay for products in dollars. www.PayPal.com

yes they issue credit cards here in Nigeria. I got from Stanbic IBTC Bank, that's where my salary is paid. I'm sure other banks too give out.

a credit card is usually given to a salary earner. d bank is sure u will get paid, and pay back.
there is form ur MD at ur office has to sign to approve it.
in case u make way, na ur MD dem go hold responsible.
and u can't borrow more dan a certain amount: I think twice ur salary. depending on d agreement

that's when the Bank will "block" ur boss to get their money (even if it's thru a legal action).

normally, ur boss is supposed to alert d bank upon d event of ur sack, with alacrity.
