I was wandering with everyone saying 2027 is done and dusted with all the defections and all. And arguably with the current president controlling all three arms of government. If they were to be an election today, I would you vote APC? I

APC will only be voted by the governors and their cronies defecting to the party in the South-South states.
Have you noticed that most of the defectors are first-time governors, second-term governors are less perturbed?

This means that those governors defecting are only decamping to avoid being victimized by Tinubu.
Come 2027, even Sanwuolu may just stay at home on election day.

They will lose the presidency in these states, just as they did in 2023.

Yes.
As far as Tinubu is the flagbearer or any ọmọlúwàbí at all.

Niccoloimhotep:
I can see you’ve not learnt your lessons at all to stop playing the tribal card during election of leaders, isn’t it the most competent hands you’re suppose to vote as opposed to your tribesman or omoluabi as you tagged it? Wasn’t it a fellow omoluabi that sold your a bad car that hasn’t made it to your mum’s house since last year? Wasn’t it an omoluabi Kazeem that inspected the car and has been ripping you with the car till date? Meanwhile another person from another tribe might have treated and honoured your deal fairly perhaps.
Eschew yourself from mental and tribal slavery and see how tremendously your life would improve.
Pele ooo, Iyaluabi 😒
A non-Yoruba won't let me acquire landed properties in my short stay in their region because in their words "Their land is sacred and not for sale for non indigenes".
A non yoruba sold me a lemon laptop in computer village.
A non yoruba robbed me of my 500k laptop in Emeka offor, Onitsha. He claimed he needed to scan it before he would buy and he charged #9 per unit of detected error. By the end of the calculation I was paid 54k and couldn't do anything about it.
A non-yoruba plagiarized my works on amazon KDP leading to losing my and losing over 1800$ royalities.
A non-yoruba sold me fake drugs that almost took my mum's life.
A non-yoruba dragged my mum to court despite owing 2 and half years rent, money he didn't pay till date.

I like the way you all bring tribal coloration into everyone's political choices as if there is anyone who tribalizes politics more than you lots. You alone are the saints. Before you throw stones, make sure you aren't based in a glass house.
By the way, how much has your life improved?

We go show APC shege in the next election. The governors should keep moving in droves. They are moving alone not with the voters.

We can recall what transpired between Eno of akwaibom and the people. He asked them during defection whether they are moving with him to the APC. They Gave him a straight "NO" answer. That is exactly what will happen

God forbid!

Ideally, I will vote for the candidate, irrespective of the party, but with recent trends, it seems like there is no likeable person in that party at all. Even if you were liked before, the moment you that party, you begin saying and doing things that will insult the people and absolutely make them turn against you.

I really wonder if the people voting for that evil party has a functioning brain.

Who else would I wote? Did anyone promised to return price of fuel to how it was? Did anyone says he is going to restart subsidizing dollars to make importing of goods very cheap again?
Or do you want to mistakingly enter into the hungry politicians? Who said they are hungry after spending close to a billion naira for only birthday party? Or we should help them recoup the over trillion naira they have been spending in the hunt for position to control our Treasury?
Omoh, let Tinubu who has the gut to remove subsidies on dollar and fuel and bring other good reforms that past leaders couldn't dare to attempt continue. He is the godfather of himself not someone who would be under constant pressure from his boss to get instructions on how to loot our scarce resources.

The question you should be asking is would the APC allow people to vote or their votes to count, Lagos election comes to mind as it might be replicated all over Nigeria now that Tinubu is president.

I risked my life to go vote for this current president in war torn and insurgents dominated zone of Orsu LGA. We were ambushed on our way back to Owerri.

It took the grace of God and the gallant and fierce combined team of security escorts with us to repel the attack on our convoy. Till today, I'm ever grateful to those security personnels, our Nigerian troops are really trying.

Thinking that we have voted the best thing after Ube na Oka, I never knew that it will end up like this. What have I benefited after all the risks??, NOTHING!!!!! I NEVER knew that hardship and sufferings will be the order of the day.

So if elections were to hold today or in the future, I will NEVER vote for APC in the presidential elections again.

It all depends on who is contesting against APC.

If Atiku or Peter Obi is contesting against APC, I won't vote any, they are all the same.

If Wike or El-Rufai is contesting against APC I'll vote APC, Wike is a tyrant.

If Rotimi Amaechi is contesting against APC I'll vote Amaechi, he is a lesser devil compared to Tinubu

Barring rigging, there's no realistic pathway to Tinubu's re-election. He has lost a huge chunk of his 2023 votes in the North and the defections from Southern governors are unpopular and are not giving him the expected momentum. Northerners are not one to talk too much. They show workings with their actions hence the current graveyard silence in the North. They are simply waiting for him at the polls.

The loudest voices you will hear of Tinubu's ers are from the Southwest but even there is not unanimous and is being checkmated by the Obidients. He would use our collective patrimony to bribe and coerce more and more politicians to decamp and you will see defections from unlikely quarters from politicians seeking to secure their retirement, but it still won't save him.

The defections were supposed to happen close to the elections to provide shock-value but coalition talks made Tinubu to panic. Now, Nigerians and opposition politicians are mentally prepared for even more defections. You can't buy love neither can you copy respect.
