dapadawee:Stop lying! ๐๐ Fibroids happen in many women, regardless of whether they have had children or not. The answer is not to marry them off early because that will not stop fibroids from eventually growing. Many women who are completely done with childbearing still go on to develop fibroids. Do you pretend that since she has had all the kids she wants, she does not deserve treatment? Nonsense! ๐๐ The solution is to have treatment available so they can continue living their livesโ and having kids if they desireโ if and when fibroids show up. ![]()

TenQ:There is no either...or... relationship that exists between having fibroids and having children, since women who are done with childbearing could still develop fibroids in their later years. Also, when fibroids become an obstruction to pregnancy, they can be removed, with many women safely able to resume childbearing afterwards. ![]()

IamMobisola:The average height of a Nigerian man is 171 cm. I am a little above 190 cmโdoes that mean Iโm not Nigerian? The number of Nigerians who do not understand the rules of exceptions and nuance is really disturbing. Fact: Women in their teens and early 20s can have fibroid. Fact: Fibroid is common amongst women in their mid-30s upwards. Fact: Delayed in childbearing increases the risk of fibroids. Fact: Child bearing reduces the risk. Be smart and acknowledgment that several truths can coexist. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I still stand by my words by saying any woman can have fibroids at any age... You'll be shocked by the number of young women in their 20s facing the same issue. And fibroids don't necessarily prevent women from procreating, with the right medical care, they'd still be able to have as many children as they want... I personally know someone who's been battling fibroids since her early 20s, but was still able to have two healthy kids. Tallesty1: 1 Like |

Kobojunkie:You want to belong but lack the initiation knowledg. No treatment for fibroids only surgical procedure can remove fibroids, that's your number one blunder. Let me educate you. Even after removing fibroids through surgical procedure the chance of growing back is very high. Lastly the chance of you having growing fibroids after delivering all your children is very low. My response to your nonsense. We are not stopping fibroids because all women have fibroid we are saying to avoid story that you will later regret it is better to marry and give birth early so that fibroid will not take over your entire uterus 2 Likes |

dapadawee:1. Look up the meaning of the word "treatment" next time before posting what amounts to mental farts. 2. Also, try to state the facts, not twist them. Yes, having children (childbearing) is associated with a lower risk of developing uterine fibroids. This is because pregnancy and the postpartum period can cause fibroids to shrink or even disappear. Researchers from the National Institutes of Health found that in one study, 36% of fibroids identified before pregnancy were no longer detectable after delivery. 3. Nonsense! . ๐๐ Uterine fibroids are a significant public health concern in Nigeria, with a higher prevalence among Black women compared to Caucasians. Studies have shown that the incidence of fibroids in Nigeria can range from 17.9% to 26%, significantly higher than in Europe and the United States, where it's reported to be 5-11%.Following your assertions, shouldn't it follow that women in Nigeria would suffer fibroids less than those in the West, where late marriages are considered the norm? ๐๐ |

dapadawee: Are surgical procedures not a form of treatment? Or whatโs your point? Fear mongering? Thereโs a link between hair relaxers and other hair products in black women and fibroids. Not once have I heard of a white woman having fibroids. And western countries have a lower birth rate than Africa. Now is it due to delayed childbirth or is the Doctor just trying to be disingenuous? 1 Like |
