Guys, I just made a huge error.

I booked upfront medicals with Qlife for family of 3 now. Only to try to check their address and find they are only in Lagos.

My location is Abuja.

Is there any chance I'll be refunded?

I know a lot of people are going about their daily lives, but I just want to share some information I found.

An amendment to Bill C-2 was proposed today, and I know a lot of fake Facebook immigration agents won’t want to talk about it because it would kill their market of encouraging people to use fake proof of funds, leaving them stranded once they arrive in Canada.

If you’re coming to Canada and you want to study, make sure you actually hold your money. Claims made more than a year after arriving in Canada (post-June 24, 2020) — including by students and temporary residents — won’t be referred to the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB)

This means that if, after school or at any time during your studies, you want to file for asylum, your case will not be referred to the Immigration and Refugee Board. In summary, the government will not even consider your case.

So, after school, if you can’t get permanent residency (PR) after your work permit, and you want to file for asylum, they won’t even look at your case. Even during school, if for some reason you can’t pay fees and want to file for asylum, they will not process your case.

Even before this amendment, I mentioned that coming from Nigeria, there was already a 13% approval rate. Now, with this amendment, if your case falls into the mentioned category, they won’t even look at it because they consider it a waste of time.

So please, have a plan for what to do during your studies and after graduation. Try to find the best routes to qualify for permanent residency, like focusing on courses and fields of work under category-based draws and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) that you qualify for. Things are tough, but it’s possible if you know and plan accordingly.

For visit visa, your chances of successfully getting a visa solely depends on how you can convince the visa officer that you are temporarily going to visit and you will definitely leave after visiting.
The things that you can use to convince them are:
If the VO is fully convinced you are economically well established in Nigeria. Which is determined by the sufficient ing documents you submit to show you are gainfully employed for years consistently and well paid, or have a well established striving business. If you fail to do this, you will not be getting a visit visa approved.

Other things to be considered are solid home and family ties.

Hello bro
I got a refusal for my visit visa though a friend helped with my application. Do you mind I share my SOP with you to see if it was good enough?? And probably ask one or two questions. Thank you as I wait on your reply

Good day to you. I already told you were you should apply; you don't hold a status there in SK, hence your study permit is likely to get refuse.

Thank you for your response, but is it advisable to apply from Nigeria when I am currently residing in SK. Also my funds are in my SK .

thank you and good morning,

Yes you can use your husband company ( to firstly establish Strong relationship with your husband )

but we are assuming he is the sole owner of the company

ok so here is what you have to do firstly
Ensure the funds meet IRCC’s minimum financial requirement: tuition + living expenses (about CAD 20,635 for living expenses for most provinces, plus tuition).

the average tuition for a Canadian international student is $15,000/ Year so have around $55,000CAD minimum do the naira exchange

Be consistent — the names in all documents (including your port, marriage certificate, and company documents) should match.

Letter of Financial
A signed and notarized letter from your husband stating that he (or his company which in this case he owns) will financially you during your studies in Canada.
The letter should clearly mention the amount of money available and for how long he’ll you.
Ideally, it should also confirm that the funds will be used for your tuition, living expenses, and travel.

Marriage Certificate
To establish the relationship and show you’re legally married.

Your Husband’s Company Documents
To demonstrate the legitimacy of the company and its ability to provide funds:
Certificate of Incorporation
CAC documents
Tax Clearance Certificates
Company’s Bank Statements (preferably 6 months to 1 year)
Company’s Financial Statements (if available)
Proof of ongoing business activity (like invoices, contracts, etc.)

Your Husband’s Personal Bank Statements
At least 6 months of statements showing that he has access to personal or company funds.
Proof that he is the main owner of the and his signature is the only one requiremed to withdraw money from the you can get that from your bank.

Proof of Source of Funds
If there’s a large sum of money, show where it came from (e.g., salary, business revenue, asset sales).
Helps prove that the money isn’t a sudden deposit just for the visa.

Affidavit of
A sworn affidavit (or statutory declaration) from your husband confirming his intention to you.
Must be notarized.

Proof of Relationship and Family Ties
Photos, messages, t s, or other evidence to confirm your marriage and ongoing relationship.

I know its a long something but try to follow each step

Sorry for the late reply. The weather was good this weekend, so I was outside all weekend.

Yes, it would be good for the company to write the letter, but it would also be important to state that the two other minor shareholders are aware that the company—where his dad is a major shareholder—is sponsoring the person.

Look at it this way: you’re trying to clear any doubt that IRCC might have about the ownership of the company, the money that will be spent for sponsorship, and the availability of that money when the person needs it to come to Canada.

If possible, make sure that the acceptance fee to secure ission was paid from that company if possible and use it as a document during Visa application. This would show intent and capacity to make payments from that .

People like "Badadvisor" who claimed to have all the sponsorship money sometimes come to Canada and then realize they lied on their application. They start blaming the government, even though they told the government beforehand that they could afford everything as an international student.

You’re doing everything in your power to convince IRCC that you have the money—and that the money is available in an fully controlled by your sponsor and ready for you at any time.

Thanks for your guidance so far.

The application was submitted yesterday.

However, today I noticed that the signature he signed in his letter of sponsorship, and the one on his international port are different. I asked and he said that the port own has always been the one on his PP and so he stuck to it even during renewals, but it's his actual signature that he signed in the sponsorship letter.

I just tire. Will this result in automatic rejection or will they ignore?

Should we do anything proactively now like informing IRCC ? (i wonder if that may bring red flags) or ignore?

Signature — don’t overthink it! You’re just worried; calm down.

IRCC are not evil people hahah I know that for sure

I personally don’t see it as a big deal if you’ve done everything else right.

Sometimes, as humans, we overthink and overreact to certain things. Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think it’s a big deal.

yeah, maybe I am overthinking it like you said....lol..I will just wait and see what happens.

Meanwhile, I read your long piece above about Bill C-2 and your advise for people aiming for category-based draws via PR. i totally agree, I have been advocating for my guys in the health sector in naija to come over via that means and some got ITAs in the early CB draws.

That being said, do you think the usual pre-COVID, bi-weekly CRA draws of 450 - 470 we once enjoyed will ever come back? I miss those days, mehn..now the CRA scores are ridiculously high. In fact, they hardly even do those direct draws self, and when they do, it's as high as 500.
I have a telegram bot for the draws and monitoring it because I have got my last born sibling in the pool but his score is very low and I wonder if he would ever get ITA.

He is in Naija, an ant, but working in a family-run, travel agent biz. I appreciate your honest and realistic insights and wonder if you have any suggestions, advice, or information on what I can do to bring him to Canada. My other sibling is here because he came via category based draw but nah, this my lastborn own dey worry me!! God bless you btw.

To be honest, no one knows when the old days of 450–470 draws will return. Canadians aren’t happy about how easy it is for people to come into Canada, and the government isn’t investing in real job-creating opportunities. Instead, they’re gaslighting everyone.

Imagine the government giving Honda $15 billion Canadian dollars, only for them to shut down their factory two years later! The government loves green projects, but green projects don’t move the economy.

That’s a discussion for another day https://apnews.com/article/canada-honda-ev-project-delayed-b7c05f857be61263c3227afee04bf37a

The only advice for anyone is to target every possible draw they might qualify for and try to improve their chances. I know a lot of people don’t like to hear this, but studying is still the best way to come to Canada—though you have to be strategic about it.

Learn French, or target programs like the OINP Masters Graduate Stream, the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), or the NLPNP International Graduate Category.

Every province has a program for international students who study in Canada. You can find more details here: https://www.canadim.com/immigrate/provincial-nominee-program/

But things can change at anytime and sadly ant isn't part of the in demand job making it difficult to get ITA from outside canada

But you have to be strategic from day one:

✅ Know the province you’re targeting.
✅ Know the in-demand programs in that province.
✅ Understand what it takes to qualify—before you start applying to any school.

Don’t be like Badadvisor, choosing any program at any school without planning for the long run.

PR (Permanent Residence) is not guaranteed, but you have to select your best option to maximize your chances of success.

I did my biometrics last year and my application was denied.

Can I just apply with the new one this time around or do I need to reference the old one?

Hey Old friend

So, are you planning on claiming asylum, or are you hoping to marry for papers?

Which one’s your grand strategy? Because let’s be honest—you probably don’t have enough points for PR, and I can already see the frustration written all over your face.

Asylum? Yeah, good luck with that, thanks to the new Bill C-2. So, let’s hope you’ve got your sights set on some Canadian port-carrying hero to swoop in and rescue you.

Probably an overweight, older white lady—because, let’s face it, no young Nigerian woman with her citizenship is going to fall head over heels for a struggling, frustrated Nigerian guy.

So, yeah, marriage might be your best bet—just don’t wait until your papers are about to expire, or it’ll be pretty obvious it’s a marriage of convenience.

Good afternoon all, I have a few questions about my application
1. My sponsor’s closing balance is 50.2m and the total cost of my first year in Canada will be 55m, I also added 4 of my sponsor’s engineering award contracts that total up to 920m with 40-50% advance payments in the beginning of all of the contracts and a land document worth 82m. Will these ing documents be enough?
2. I submitted my application April 15th, biometrics done April 16th. I’m a minor and I haven’t received any medical update yet. Does that mean ircc has waived off the medicals because it says “we don’t need your medicals yet”.
3. In my sponsor’s bank statement, he had inflows of over 100m and an opening balance of 8m, will that be an issue?
Thank you

Yes. It will say - "we do not need your medical yet until your file is processed". You get a medical request if you meet eligibility requirements after the review. You can proactively do your medical upfront and submit though. As a minor, the final outcome ultimately depends on the quality of the documentation summitec including the relationship between you and the sponsor. All the best

For the financial - IRCC only needs you to show cash- tuition and upkeep for first year ( which is what you have done) and then show where money will come from in subsequent years -I believe your study is undergraduate 3/4 years which again is what you have done. Expect a favourable outcome .
