I know some South Westerners would also want to throw their hats in the ring but any reasonable person would tell them to channel that energy towards entrepreneurship and empowerment for their people.

Alex Otti

Soludo not sure what his age would be at that time

David Umahi

Wike - if Alcohol never hook am for neck making him incapacitated.

Akbabio would be in his early 70’s

Donald Duke would be in his 70’s too

Obi just in case he has not retired would be about 75 probably favourite if he is still competing.

Who do you think would grab it. Not forgetting Delta and Edo Candidates.

Oshiemole is a rank outsider would be in his late 70’s that is a bit old but who can tell.

What do you guys think 😀

Those beggars you see in the streets and middle of the road are not people? What is the UN definition of poor people? Living on less than $2 a day. How many Nigerians live above $2 a day?

SW’s next “official” slot is 2071.
Obi will lose and it means SE is out of the picture in 2039 as 2039 is going to SS.
The next opening for SE is 2055.
However, If SE don’t reform the way the play politics, SW may take their slot in 2055 even though it’s not our turn.

Either way, the earliest possibility of a SE presidency is 2055.

As far as the names you mentioned, it’s not about names but who is available and presentable when the slot becomes available. When you had the opportunity you presented an unelectable Obi. By the time the slot is available to the SE again, the names you mention will be retired. If you present another nelextable person or play the same politics you are playing today, you will lose that slot. As it stands SS has jumped ahead of SE for 2039!

Now that I hope you realize that ordinarily the opportunity for presidency from any Southern geopolitical zone comes only about once in your life time, you realize the importance of not wasting that opportunity presenting and rallying behind an unelectable candidate! It’s not just him that loses but the entire zone

There is no micro zoning. Even a SW can run if he or she can convince the delegates.

Funny, you guys overrate Obi to his amazement, Obi left Anambra as a governor nothing tangible to his name. The only time a project was commissioned by a sitting president was the Brewery which he has a large stake on. Ngige still remains the best governor of Anambra state

It doesn’t work that way! Even I from the SW will not vote for any SW candidate, if Tinubu completes his 2 . The next southern president after Tinubu has to come from another zone.

We’ve had Osinbajo (VP) , Obasanjo and Tinubu. No zone is entitled to witness more than 2 presidents from his micro zone in his lifetime. Most people will not live long enough to even witness 2. Some have not witnessed 1(NE,NC,SE) , some have not completed 2 (SS)

I agree but there is no hard rule saying that the next slot for a SWesterner is 2071. It is just consensual. Knowing we have had a shot at it twice within 25 years.

If you are a yoruba man forget about presidency in your lifetime after Tinubu. We have no entitlement to it. What you are not entitled to, don’t focus your eye on!

Ojukokoro ni ye!

Like I said presidency particularly for minority geopolitical zones is a once in 48 year phenomenon. When it your turn don’t mess it up by presenting unelectable candidates. Am unelectable candidate is a candidate that other zones will not vote for. This is why Awolowo never became president….it is why Obi will never become president, it is why the SE will likely have to wait till 2055.

Ogbeni yii, micro zoning has been thrown out by the house of reps. If u cannot bring out a strong candidate who would galvanise the people then forget it. presidency is not serve a la carte.

not building stadium and flyovers

There is no zoning of any kind in the constitution, whether north south or micro zones! You can run but you will not win!

Nobody said it is not your right. The system will determine whose turn it is.

We have unwritten rotational presidency. This is determined by 1) Your power base and influence. 2) the acceptability of the candidate you present to others 3) The way you play your politics. 4) consensus amongst other zones that it is your turn and you have presented a candidate acceptable to them.

Even the “mighty” NW will struggle to present a candidate from the NW in 2031 when NE and NC have not been president!

Now u are talking. U don’t come out blatantly and even blindly and say a whole big section of Nigeria is excluded from running until 2071 even though it may be the case saliently.
