I only recently just used my five years visa too when I realized it’ll soon be two years since I renewed. I think the five years length is also a factor as to why we don’t even think of using it so soon

Please i need help. My daughter was ed on the previous platform under f-2 but we had to reschedule this year. I have been able to and book an appointment using my receipt from the last platform but ive not been able to reschedule my daughter's. I went to create new application using my own avits profile like i did on the old platform but they keep saying the receipt number is not recognised. I have complained to and they keep saying the issue has been resolved. Do i need to create a seperate avits page for her using another email? keeps telling me i'm supposed to see pending application but all i see is create new. See screenshot of from avits

Please, which date is available for next appointment now
OgbeniOptional(m): 10:36pm On May 22
Thanks for your response. Please i also hope going like every three months for a week or two wont raise any red flag as i don't intend to stay in the USA asas i have my job elsewhere. Or do you think F2 is more appropriate?

Efetobore1980:

** It's goes to your choice but the above scenario can only work for the woman (the wife) as the principal applicant.

** Let's simulate that the wife (principal applicant) is applying for F1 visa with her daughter (as the F2) , and the husband is applying for B1/B2 (visitor) to attend a conference or negotiate a business contract in America then upon finalization he (the husband) will check on the family' (wife & daughter) in school , why not ? They can all apply together. 👍

ZIP Code: Please note that ZIP Code is not the same as Phone Code(234). Every State and Local Government Area in Nigeria have ZIP/Post Code. In fact every location in Nigeria has one, you just need to check it up. I prefer to use State Codes i.e Lagos = 100001; Abuja = 900001; Imo 460001 etc. You can look up other codes on NIPOST portal or go to https://nigeriapostcodes.com/

My family and I recently returned from a trip to the USA, and one of the most memorable places was Keystone Lake in Oklahoma. If you love nature, water recreation and are looking for a place to recharge from the hustle and bustle of the city, you should definitely check it out. Pay special attention to the boat rental at Pier 51 https://pier51keystone.com/keystone-lake-boat-rentals/ - excellent service, friendly staff, all equipment in perfect condition. We rented a pontoon for the whole day - had a lot of fun, rode on the lake, enjoyed the sun, swam and even had a picnic right on the water. The boat was clean, comfortable and safe - even the children were comfortable. The rental price, by the way, is quite reasonable, especially if you split it among a group.

My trip to the USA was a real discovery and an unforgettable experience in my life! From the first days I felt an incredible atmosphere of freedom and hospitality, which I had often heard in stories, but had never experienced myself to the fullest. From the noisy streets of New York to the picturesque landscapes of California's national parks, each location revealed its unique history and flavor to me. New York was especially impressive: huge skyscrapers, Broadway theaters and Central Park - all this combination creates the feeling of an endless city that never sleeps. Then I went to California, where I was able to enjoy the fresh air and stunning views of Yosemite Park, as well as relax on the sunny beaches of San Francisco.

Oga, nobody asked for a travel diary. People here are focused on how to ace the visa interview and japa to the USA.looking for real opportunities, not bedtime stories about skyscrapers and sunsets. Your “unforgettable” experience might mean something to you, but it’s not helpful or relevant here. Stay on topic or post that elsewhere where people care!!

Yes. Wait till after the outcome of your visa interview and if successful then proceed to OIS website and schedule a pickup. Call their customer service after that in order to speed it up. 👍

Hello.
Nobody can help you out . Anyone who wants to render any help will only keep an eye on available dates through your reschedule option which is 5x (times).

Your best bet and last resort is to request for emergency appointment " Under Business"
if you are qualified or if you have the option in your dashboard.
The content of your invitation letter from the conference organisers and how best they place you will however determine the success of your expedite appointment approval. 👍

Hello Cherie.

Track your visa/port status or location here ;

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV

https://appointment.oisservices.com/pickup-service/pick

If the delay is longer than usual then use the ''Create a ticket'' option in your scheduling a k.a AVITS in order to send an inquiry describing the issue. They will respond with the location of your P. 👍

Hello everyone,

My sister would like to invite our mother to the U.S. on a visitor visa—she recently became a U.S. citizen. While filling out the DS-160 form for our mom, she chose Lagos as the location for the visa interview. Unfortunately, there were no available interview dates in Lagos for this year, so she ended up booking an appointment in Abuja for November 2025.

I have a few questions:

Is there any issue or consequence with changing the interview location from Lagos to Abuja?

Can she attend the interview in Abuja using the same DS-160 form, or will she need to fill out a new one? What’s the best way to handle this?

What documents should our mom bring with her to the visa interview?

Is she required to go for document verification in Abuja before the actual interview date?

I’d really appreciate your helpful answers and guidance.

Thank you so much!

The location selected on your DS160 must match your interview location. Please fill out another DS-160 to adjust the location, and retrieve the application to repopulate the form with previous information.

Hello friends.

Does anyone know the list of all the required documents for an interview Visa Office?

Also, can anyone provide a document with past/previous VISA interview transcripts? And if there is a WhatsApp group I would love to also, please feel free to message me directly.

Hello.

I'm sorry but your kind is the one who goes for visa interview with bad information because your question is too vague (it has no information to direct you) for accurate guidance.

Naturally most B2 (visit for pleasure & Tourism) visa applicants does not need (almost) any documentation when attending an interiew while some B1 (visit for business) might need to show some documents. However, almost all visa applicants are required to strongly displayed POF (Proof Of Funds) , and POT (Proof Of Ties) in their visa application despite the fact that the visa officer may not ask for physcal evidence (depending on each applicant's situation).

If we combine the two together (B1/B2), you will discover that one need to be specific when asking for a visa direction ie , 1. Conference/Seminars, 2. Attending for Business Negotiation, 3. Wedding, 4. Graduation, 5. Burial ceremony/Corpse Repatriation, 6. Pre-enrollment visits (colleges & Universities) 7. Xmas/Leave holidays, 8. Church/Religious activities, 9. Visiting to purchase goods, 10. Visiting parents, spouse, children, partners etc, 11. Going on trial (sportig activities), etc.

So, do you need documents & past visa interviews (transcripts) for all of the aforementioned categories ? 👍
Lethhhgooo: 6:28am On May 26
Thank you so much for providing clarity.

Option 10 is the use case for me here. My parents are visiting, so I want to make sure all the required documents are covered, and to also have some transcripts in hand.

Hello Ayomide.

Your case is the same with @Lethhhgooo (may be both of you should read this ) only that you added DS-160 issues in which @Debbieeeeeee has briefly analysed.

** Since your mum has changed to Abuja all she need to do is to fill another ds-160 choosing Abuja-Nigeria and then go to her avits profile to update the ds-160 by raising a ticket and after 2 days she can print out another appointment letter (which will now display the new ds-160 confirmation number). ** No ! Your mom does not need to go for any documents verification in Abuja before her B1/B2 visa interview. All she need to do is to attend her visa interview on the exact appointment day.

For parents to visit their children in america it is good if the child is a PR (permanent resident), and better if the child is a citizen. However, how the child entered the U.S. and the child's activities will be put on scale because the U.S. embassy will run background checks on such child (ren), ie working, tax complying, police/crime record, financial ability etc.

** Your parents or parent must display good health (except if going for medical), strong activities back in their countries , proof of other children, etc in order to proof ties to their countries of origin (those things that will bring them back home). ** Our Parents (illiterate, semi-literate or literate) especially first-time travelers must be trained on how to communicate or behave in the presence of the consular, to say what their ds-160 says, to be humble and to be friendly towards the consular, and not see the visa as their absolute right to have.

** They do not need much documents except few in order to proof financial ability to fund their trips, their children's proof of residency, proof of accomodation, and proof of biological ties etc. 👍

This happened to a senior colleague of mine. they were asked to schedule a physical appointment date without having to pay a new visa fee. He needs to to his AVITS profile to confirm how many reschedule options are available to him.
