And that will requires a whole research and new coding skill (pine script v6)

And in 2 days I've got a full working pine script v6 + steps to automate it to my broker.

It's why I wonder why people who call themselves software developers find it hard to code, the major thing software developers do.

I use AI daily and sometimes, it can be really dumb. Sometimes it would give you half answer and no matter how you prompt it, it won't solve the problem unless you take your time to read and test the code.

I can understand if you don't know certain things, but depending on AI from A to Z is just a funny idea.

You HAVE to learn the fundamentals. AND BE GOOD AT IT. AI is supposed to aid your productivity, making you do a lot more in less time. Not do all the work for you. Only to come an read someone (who's probably not a professional developer) say a rookie can build portfolio exclusively with ChatGPT. Haba! Those 500 devices are exactly the same make and model, all imaged using the same Windows OS enterprise image. When you want to roll out software, or Change Management, do you test it on all devices? You run it a a sample that is representative of the larger set. In this case, one PC that was exactly similar to the other 499 was probably sufficient enough. As they would have been doing sys stuff on those PCs and for all intents and purposes would have been viewed as multiple instances of the same hardware.

My point is, a veteran Sys with years of experience relied on AI for a Powershell script (that they surely would have reviewed) that eventually failed and failed hard. Advising a rookie (who wouldn't even know the difference between what is right or what "looks right" to rely on AI to build their career is asking for problems. People need to learn the fundamentals and become competent at them, before using these new tools to make them more productive.

True someone with a Computer Science or Software Engineering degree can use the free version of ChatGPT to write all the code they need for a complete application, but you have to keep asking it to refine some of it till it writes it the way you want it. Saves time from all the long line of coding to allow time time to be used better for more important stuff.

Same like a doctor using a robot to do his work. The doctor knows what his is trying to achieve so the robot will make his work easier and more precise. But to a self-taught doctor using the same robot will end up causing trouble.
Same with programing with ChatGPT. The truth is that those giving candidates leetcode test have no business in software development.

Bad candidates know they cannot code nor talk about past projects in a decent way, but it’s easier for them to cheat by cramming solutions for leetcode than to talk about software development.

AI is probably the most abused and fantasized tool on the planet. How to create a portfolio that cannot be defended in real time is wild. I don't know if the idea of vibe coding has been misinterpreted or what people want to make of it, but this forum is full of juicy things to read. Hahaha.

People want to skip the basics. I'm surprised we aren't learning full courses in development from AI summaries. Learn how to code in 6 hours. And the thing is that there are other tools they can embrace if they don't want to code.

Maybe if they've learned and want to use it productively.
