While it was being driven to my place.
Overheating happened and it damaged the four coils.
There right there, I spent above 250k fixing radiator, automated dashboard, four coils, plugs, oil gauge stick, mobil oil, gasket and some stupid things.
They fixed it, and it worked for a few minutes till it broke down again and I had to change filter and fuel pumb with some minor things because car won't move. After a while... it moved again then stopped. This time it was the kick but before they figured it out.
I learnt the roadside Kazeem had almost pieced the car in search of a fault that wasn't there.
While we were on this, I decided to replace the steering pump and rack because the steering had become stiff and so difficult to turn. This cost some fortunes.
Mind you, like play like play, this car had spent about 3 months at different locations. I got tired at this point and decided to leave it under bridge in Ojuelegba where I was asked to pay #400 per day but begged for #200. It was there from December till last month.
I was told it overheated again while moving from God knows where to Ojuelegba and I needed to replace the coils all again.
Let's no forget there were different electrical issues that I can't even list out because I don't even know what to call them.
But now, the gear is making one annoying and disturbing sound and they are asking for an arm and heart to fix it. It will be one year by next month and car hasn't made it to my house.
It can't even go beyond 25Km/h nor can it climb hills.
Very frustrating.
Simple solution for overheating is just changing the radiator, how they drove the car without looking at the dashboard until the gasket burn is amazing.
Your kazeem has damaged other parts of the car trying to fix it. At this point just sell it as scrap.

I wanted to get my mum a small car last year.
Didn't have money for a tokunbo so I asked my brothers to help me surf jiji for any affordable car.
They showed me a Civic 08 and since I drive one myself, I felt it would be nice to match with my mum.
My brothers and a Kazeem went for inspection and they discovered the car had a few things to be fixed which made them slash the price from 2.4M that we initially agreed to #2,050,000.
This was in June last year.
They set out to drive the car down to my house before heading to my mum's but brethrens, since June last year till this very moment as I type this. The car has only been parked from one Kazeem shop to another, on some days it was left by the road side or a petrol station for days out of frustration. I have spent above 700k on it all to no fruition. It's been almost a year now and this car hasn't made me it my house yet talk more of sending it to my mum. I ed the guy and he said he had tried by slashing the price and that was all he could do. At some point, he stopped picking my brother's calls.
Please what advice can you give me?
Can I get him arrested or take legal measures against him at least? Or has this become my headache for life?
I need chunks of recommendations please.
The price alone should have told you the car has some serious issues!

Legal action for obtaining by false pretence a.k.a. 419

How much will you sell the lemon to me? If it's still at Ojuelegba, I can come check it out.

You waited too long to swing into action but if you have proof that the car hasn’t served its purpose text or WhatsApp messages, just get a good lawyer to go the Area command or higher police stations and make a complaint.
I see you’re in Lagos just go to the area command or just go to panti straight no time. If you want I can help connect you a police officer at panti.

Funnily enough, it was the Kazeem who drove the car when the overheating occurred. Car was even smokey and the animal didn't see it nor perceive it till it caused all those damages.
I regret the day I met that animal.

You bought a used car and you are complaining. Firstly did you not examine it with a mechanic before buying. Secondly, your mechanics are the ones swindling you as I do not know 2hat cannot be repaired from wiring to engine.
Nigerian car s should try to know about their cars. Most of these mecahnics on learnt from problem solving not from understanding the basics of car systems

Sell the car the way it was sold to you.
Buy a Nigeria used car to your risk.

Well no matter how bad the situation is I still see light in it, that car is still fixable. But it’s going to be a lot, but with the help of a professional mech. I wish Gazuuz was still with us. It’s well.
Things I believe you’ll need to Get.
-Get a Professional Mech. (Not road side kazeem oh)
-Buy a car scanner. (Scanning the car will give you a good sense of direction on where to start from)
- A new engine and gear box. (budget for it)
If your budget doesn’t meet up, then selling it as scrap will be the best option at least you might get some good cash selling the parts of the car.
Godspeed.

The thing is that, the Kazeem was never a personal mechanic. He resides in my mum's city of residence (another state) and he was introduced to me thinking it would make the delivery a lot easier.
He was expected to come to lagos, inspect the car, confirm its state and if good, drive it to his state to my mum.

The only brand of car I can buy in that state to fix a few things like you said is Toyota. all these honda, Nissan etc, no be me and them o. They can fall hand. Imagine this ur own case now is beginning to sound like a spiritual problem. Honestly, one year is too much. Buying Nigerian used cars is not advisable. Bad roads, poor maintenance culture, poor mechanics knowledge, etc. I no envy you at all. My advice, omo just take it as a bad market and move on.Nothing will come out of this case if you arrest the person. Next time, look for someone who truly knows about cars to check them for you.

Why did you not go with a mechanic to inspect the car, he knows it was bad but he sold at an expensive rate, just look for a good mechanic to fix it.
|
luckydion(m): 5:08pm On May 13 |
Your Issue is not the seller. Check your brother and the Mechanic. Nothing much in that Civic that such amount of money can't help at all.
Why talk even about the Seller. Your agents who happened to be your brother and Mechanic already agreed with the Seller to fix it, this was why they beat the price down according to you....... Your Statement already vindicated the Seller that both parties knew the car would be fixed, the Price was therefore reduced.
Note; most mechanics will always advise you to buy a car they know you will always be their customer. it their ATM. But you ought to be wise.

This issue is common with honda civics, but mostly after you must have "over-used" the vehicle sha. Mine really tried, it was my first car, first and last honda experience so far. I enjoyed my money thoroughly on the car, but the terminal issues are same as yours. Car goes limp, engine starts shaking like mad, very hard struggle to move, overheating in just few miles. I sold mine as scrap eventually, didn't want to spend too much repairing it. I think a complete change of engine+gear is what will solve it, else, I doubt if repairs can solve the problem from experience. My best mechanics and rewires also worked on mine but they all failed.

its either your story is fictional or you are just trying to catch cruise. You cannot tell me a car had those number of serious faults and you and your mechanic did not noticed it. You have not driven the car since last year to your house and you did not tow back to wherever you got it from. Go tell this story to the birds , they probably will believe you not us

All used vehicles are sold 'as-is.' Once a vehicle is paid for and driven off the lot, the buyer assumes full responsibility.
This is the practice.

to be honest you are going to waste your time and resources arresting him, you will surely lose the case. Business is already been concluded, you willingly buy it , willingly paid for it despite detecting problem, willingly agreed to buy it, willingly take the car from him after paying, willingly collect all the documents that show you are now the new owner of the car not his . My advice for you re sell the car and add money to get another car for your mum. Shit happens time to time
Kazeem is a rogue.
He went back to collect money from the seller.
Cut your losses. Sell the car, but I am afraid you won't get much for it.

Questions when I bought it?
Did you read that I asked my brothers to go there with a Kazeem? Someone who charged me 40k before he could agree to follow my brothers for inspection.
Whoelse would I trust with the knowledge of a car?
I even learnt that when the Kazeem got there, he and the seller exchanged s for reasons I do not know. I'm thinking the seller settled him to convince my brothers to buy the car.
If you're in Abuja, next time use a professional who won't compromise standard. Our prices are fair compared to what that kazeem charged you.
