I just created a mock design of how I feel Nairaland should look and feel in 2025 and beyond.

What do you think β€” hit or miss?

@Seun, can you adopt this concept or maybe even come up with something better?

Though I would have liked all the items to remain where they are now but it is still ok.

I was actually expecting something like this

I believe this is the PC design. Sidebar won't go well at all on mobile

Miss, it's too bright and the brightness is hurting my eyes... But I guess it's up to Nigerians to decide what's best for their forum.

The desktop design may look very similar to the current one, with the "news section" collapsing to take up the full desktop width. Meanwhile, the "categories section" will fall back into its usual place, just like the current layout.

The major changes will primarily be the new design and added features, which will enhance the overall look and functionality while keeping the layout familiar for s.

Everything up there is bound to more changes and tweaking as deem fit by you.

or you could still maintain the proposed mock-up design as the desktop design.

That's why @Seun was advised to add a night mode feature to the forum... even the current design is still quite bright.

Some of us who have issues with our eye sight, I usually switch off my phone brightness and and put it on night mode during the night to avoid hurting my eyes.

I believe every phone has a night mode feature.

Maybe I might switch to Quora when I leave nairaland... At least I won't be reminded every minute of how I'm a foreign national and not welcomed there.

The design is sleek and modern, but if Seun will go for it, I'll recommend adding a dark mode toggle button.

Nairaland is supposed to be simply and classy.

Why not create your own website instead of a mock nairaland?
