This job is showing all the signs of being a scam. First of all, why are we being asked to meet physically for a job that was clearly d as remote? In this digital age, any legitimate remote role should conduct interviews virtually—via Google Meet, Teams, or Zoom. The insistence on a physical meeting already raises red flags.

Secondly, why were we added to a WhatsApp group and addressed by a “coordinator” before we were even offered the job? No credible organization does that. A proper recruitment process doesn’t start with a group chat. It starts with an official offer and onboarding process—not random group messages.

Thirdly, the payment request is the biggest red flag of all. Initially, they said no payments were required. Yet suddenly, there’s a link directing us to pay for an notarization. No reputable company would ask candidates to pay money—especially not through informal channels. At most, they would direct you to your documents legally, perhaps through a court—not to an unknown person or payment platform.

And when you look into this company, you’ll find that the only review on the entire internet is from one person in nairaland and it was posted just last month, around the same time their LinkedIn page was created. How is that possible for a company that’s supposedly doing mass recruitment? There’s no background, no history, no credibility.

Let’s also be real about the numbers. They claim over 500 of us got this “financing” role through an NGO. But where’s the funding for that kind of scale? Who’s paying the salaries? And speaking of salary—$350 to $700 per week? That sounds too good to be true. In today’s economy, especially in Nigeria, that kind of pay for a supposedly entry-level, remote role is highly suspicious. Do you know how much that is in naira? It doesn’t add up.

Even the assessment process was questionable. Some say it was rigorous—it wasn’t. It was rushed and filled with irrelevant, frustrating questions. Recruitment wrapped up in less than two weeks. That’s not how proper hiring processes work.

Everything about this smells off. From the WhatsApp group to the payment link, the unrealistic pay, and the company’s non-existent digital presence—it’s all screaming scam. Please, let’s be vigilant and not fall for it.

Hi. I do not totally agree with you. They have been operating in other countries including Ghana, so right now, they are looking to get into Nigeria to give practical climate education to schools, communities and office spaces.

For the Notary, including plugs for such purpose was probably to make it easy for prospective persons because honestly, I never knew what Notary is, talk less of how to go about it. So that link gave me an understanding of what Notary is and also some person that could make it work without even stressing myself.

I think you need to understand that they work with processes and having a coordinator is not really something to point out because they cannot be everywhere. I’m Ghana has their own coordinators in different regions and that’s what it’ll be like here as their own kind of structure.

And no the assessment wasn’t rushed and filled with irrelevant or frustrating questions.

It was just questions that required them to know that you really are what you are as regards the role you applied for.

I’ll need you to be objective and see how the whole thing turns out.

I wouldn’t say it is, really.

I have done my research and I honestly think they’re are not.

You too can do your research.

If you don’t trust the options they gave to get your notarization done, you can always do it in with any law practitioner/firm around you.

I also applied for the job and will 100% go through with the notarization and be present for the physical interview with a sprinkle of being careful.

RonuMiscreant:
I was about making payment for the notarization to attend the in-person interview. Is it truly a scam?

A legitimate job will never ask you to pay for anything.
If they're genuine, they should have budgeted the money for the notary and pay on behalf of the newly engaged employees. What are they notarizing sef?
Have you ever heard someone with a legitimate job whether well paying or not pay his employer for anything?

Please if you're a new entrant to the labor market, don't think it's normal to pay your prospective employer to get in.

Where's the caution, after payment?
You need to look at the amount and multiply by the total number of people and you see that it's grand.
You're looking at the amount as immaterial based on yourself. If you pay, you'll be one of those enabling scam employers to thrive.

No body asked you to pay for anything!!!!
It's so not fair to write what is not true about an organization, the only showed and directed you on how to go about Registrations for the Notarization, either you do it online to make it easy for you, using the link on the page or you go to anywhere and do it by yourself,, if you have an uncle, brother, or sister who is a Notary lawyer, that person can also do it for you, then you submit it to them,

That's all,

so with this explanation, what is the scam or fraudulent motive in this now?

All they want is that you submit the affidavit, you can take it to Jerusalem to go and sign it, but just make sure, it's been signed by the RIGHT OR AUTHORIZED PUBLIC LAWYER!!!!!!

⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Beware of “Greenacy” – It’s NOT a Legit NGO! ⚠️

Fellow Nigerians, please be careful. A so-called organization called Greenacy (greenacy.org) is making rounds online, claiming to be an international climate-focused NGO offering remote jobs and volunteer opportunities.

They promise to pay $350–$700 weekly for remote roles — but don’t be deceived. Here's why Greenacy is a confirmed scam:

1. No Real Origin: They claim they operated in Ghana before coming to Nigeria, but there's zero evidence of any past existence in Ghana. No media, no records, no digital footprint. All their activities mysteriously started in Nigeria in 2022.

2. Fake Website: Their website is a cheap template, filled with stock images and vague content. No real team , no verifiable address, no partners, no transparency.

3. Suspicious Recruitment: They use WhatsApp groups for onboarding, skip proper interviews, and ask people to pay for “notarization” or other fake fees. No real NGO does that.

4. No Reviews or Recognition: They don’t appear on Trustpilot, Charity Navigator, or any global NGO platforms. No recognition. No legitimacy.

This is 419 with a green paint job.

Please DO NOT:

Give them your personal data

Pay any money

Share their forms or links

Refer your friends

Do This Instead:

Report them if you see their posts

Warn others by sharing this message

Stay vigilant online

Let’s not fall for sugar-coated scams in the name of jobs. If you’re ionate about climate action, reach out to real NGOs or startups that are actually doing the work. Not these phantom recruiters.

Stay sharp. Stay woke. Don’t let desperation make you a victim.

You are probably among those that applied but did not make it to the final stage. If they were scammers as you are speculating, they wouldn't reject any body's application just so they could get more money from the notarization, and beside, it is not the only option available there. I know of someone that is into this in other country so chill please.

This is one of problem with Nigerian quick to talk, and say nonsense, greenacy didn't ask you for any money, you say they scam. Cbex that scam people you won't open your mouth and talk. All is to rant dust. Wise up. Most international organization do ask for notarization to fully certify you are eligible to be a citizen to work in your country, if this is your first time knowing this that means you need to be enlightened more, browse more and check what is notarization. So I wonder why one will come up , some one who is not a child to come say things like this Do you know the amount of people who didn't progress to the final stage, ok if it was a scam do you think anyone will get rejection mail. Please when coming out to talk or give a review, give your review from a justified perspective not of prejudice. The WhatsApp group you made mention no one has gotten it yet. Why then speak against a company that is trying to help a country positively and our unborn children. Please we can do better please. Thank you

A cousin of mine chatted me sometime around early this month to mention that she was invited to a test for a Remote job by an NGO called Greenacy and wanted to know if I've heard about them since I was into lots of Remote Job placement and stuff. To be honest, that was the first time I've heard of such company. I just asked her to look up the company online, to check out their social and organizational presence. That was all. But few days ago she ed me again to say she got a follow up mail by same company asking her to do certain things including notarizing particular document. I became interested in the conversation and went online myself to look up this company. I did find tons of digital presence of this company including successive events and nearly 2000 followers on LinkedIn. My cousin was worried about the notary part requiring her to commit a minimum of NGN9,500 as I saw from the recommended Notary platform. I would say she had legitimate worry but again, it reminded of one of the remote jobs I started last year (Find screenshot of this job on this link: https://jkdigitalremoteskill.com/remote-job-starter-pack/ for your reference). I I had several altercation with the recruiter who ed me for the job. I even ed calling her a scammer (This was a white lady from UK; for the pain and sadness of what our world has become, I take back all the insults I labeled her). That job required me to sign all sorts of documents including undergoing a polygraph test. It was at the point of explaining that the company would send their representative for this and they will pay all expenses that I began to calm down small small. To cut a long story short, The job was 5000% legit with correct pay plus monthly performance bonus. Needless to say that before my resumption date, the salary was increased (You will find this also in the same link above) In fact, I was told I would be added to a Telegram group, which frankly as I see some of you argue here doesn't seem professional but that was legit and that was how they operated for over 5 years of their company's existence. If not for my NDA with the company, I would have shared all screenshots here for you to see including my series of confrontation with the recruiter on WhatsApp. With all the seemingly scamish appearance of that job, It turned out to be one of the best remote jobs I've done. I know it seems off in many ways for the company of our mutual contention here to be making any demand whatsoever that will take money out of candidates pockets, but you never know, it might just be part of their process. Not in their defense in anyway because scam these days has gone very high profile and extremely intelligent driven as it reminds me of one popular project called MBA Forex which some complainants in my former employer's Brekete Family Organization. I , (a.k.a CompletePackage in that program) witnessed first hand what I may consider one of the highest profile frauds in this country. People's money running into Trillions of Naira. The victims of that scheme brought on live broadcast (which you may still find online) videos of the launching of the MBA Forex heavily publicized with full fledged media broadcast on very top broadcast companies. We also noted the presence of very heavy Government presence including representations from the Presidency and the office of the SGF. In the end even some of the most careful Nigerians who knew about the MBA Forex issue, fell victim. My point is that, whether it's job, or investment, scam has gone highly intelligent and not just a game of cards. My Boss then used to say " Person wey use elephant set trap, na him know the kind animal him wan catch".
Bottom-line, There may be some legitimacy in the Greenacy offering or Not, I however align with the thought process of the person who has said you should follow your instinct.

Funny enough, my cousin who is the inspiration for this write up chatted me yesterday to say that she received a duly notarized document from the platform she summited to online with their full address and phone number showing on the notarized document and that she has since submitted the document to the company in question. So we wait and see, if the supposed scam can be proved or Not!

PS: There are very legitimate Remote Jobs online and each comes with some requirement that I often found absurd like one client from Luxembourg asking me to wear only black shirts on some particular days. It is also your right to demand why they want you to do what they are asking, and it is your right to decline to do what they want and get other jobs; since you can easily find them Or get them here: https://jkdigitalremoteskill.com/remote-job-starter-pack/

To Your Success: From Me to You!
Cheers!
