Somewhere in Isiala-Ngwa, Abia state, I paid ₦50,000 for this freshly harvested Tenera palm fruits. The young man who climbed the palm trees and cut down the palm fruits charged me ₦20,000. His assistant work man collected ₦3,000. Five women who helped in gathering the palm fruits were paid ₦2,000 each which amounts to ₦10,000. ₦16,000 was used in preparing the food and refreshments the workers and myself consumed that day. Unlike before where I usually hire a cargo tricycle to convey them, this time, I didn't spend money on Transporting the palm fruits as I had used my ladies machine to transport them to my place. Only thing was that I filled my fuel tank to the brim. At the end of the day, the grand total of expenses incurred is ₦99,000 This Tenera hybrid palm fruits is known for its high oil yield and ability to produce palm fruits throughout the year. The total number of bunch of palm fruits that I realized is 214. All things being equal, I'm expecting nothing less than 6-10 Jerry cans of 25 litres of palm oil which at the moment sells for ₦38,500 - ₦40,000 within my locality. What do you think, is this a good investment?? 4 Likes |

In Anambra state u pay #300 per palm fruit. The 214 will amount to #64200. Your place is still ok.

overdrive:Yes it's #300 per palm tree. But the guy who climbed the palm tree reduced his price for me as he was my kinsman. Only that was that I entertained him very, very well. Fresh Palmy, local gin, snuff, kolanut and others were all on board. 1 Like |

After extracting the Palm oil from the bunch, do you further process Oil from the Nuts or you let go for the locals??

psucc:Our neighboring brothers. I think the high cost in cutting per palm tree should mean you will gain in other areas. Do you have an idea of how much 25 litres of Kings Palm Oil cost in your area? 1 Like |

GOFRONT: Everything is useful. Down right to the nuts. It depends on what you intend to do. Some could further process oil after extraction of palm oil while others could choose to sell the PKN or PKS and still make dough. 2 Likes |

strenghtt:That was harvested from about 13-14 palm trees. Some healthy palm trees can yield upto eight palm fruits in a single harvest. |

AlhajiNatty:Are you sure you didn't lose count, sir? 14 palm trees multiplied by 8 palm fruits equals 112 palm fruits instead of 214. 1 Like |
