Firstly I want to thank people like webbxxpert, online4business, coputa and dauntless15 for their advice on my previous thread.

Last year I created a thread that I was tired seeing my brother staying at home doing nothing then I suggested he learned a skill. He chose animation. I ed some animation schools and their fees were high so I went online and saw animation courses for as low as N3000.
First I purchased an online course from a Lagos based 3D person for him at the cost of N15000. I gave the man my brother's email and the files were sent to him. According to my brother, he didn't really understood some topics there and most times he had to ed the person who sold the course to explain explain to him but he still didn't get it. He told me how some topics were very complex.

In October last year I bought foreign online courses for him though expensive but not as expensive as the animation schools I visited.
He started learning and according to him the foreign courses were quite explanatory that he didn't have to the people for help. He also learnt some from YouTube.

Starting from January this year he began to apply for jobs and to God's glory he is getting jobs and being paid in dollars.
His challenge now is laptop. The laptop he is using he said it's not strong to carry the load.
So please can someone here help me recommend a pocket friendly laptop that can do 3D animations. Thank you all.

I can see you are using blender for his 3D journey and I will say its a good one.
I will advise he go on youtube there are so much free courses and udemy too for free courses.
Also when he is able to in the future tell him to invest in a good desktop computer with good graphic card (likely Nvidia) so he can process even more higher resolution 3D like model that somehow replicate like real life.
Tell him to look into game development or film production.. he will do good if he focuse and invest a couple of more years into blender he will be cashing out banks.

You see laptops are good only for learning purpose and although there are good laptops that can handle blender real good for professional works
But it all balls down to the graphic card and processor because from my experience, desktop computer with the latest graphic card will help boost his creativity to the next level.
And also as he begins to get advanced in blender he will start building way advanced models that require high computing performance machine that's why I recommend desktop computer.
I will advice you to talk to him to look into game development as well let him learn UGE and if he can master the both I assure you that guy will help financially to the family with his skills.

Congrats on the progress, as for the laptop, he can look for all those ones with gtx1060 to start with, it's not ideal for high end animation as I'd recommend an rtx laptop if money isn't a problem, but since he's short on funds just look for a graphics card laptop that has ample ram, or get a desktop so he can be upgrading the components one by one until he gradually has a machine capable of rendering stuff, a laptop isn't upgradable most times, but desktop you can upgrade any component in a desktop, he'd be fine.

I am wanting to start a project ias an indi game developer soon make some Nigerian tales epic games.

If you intend to take gaming seriously throw in unreal engine, if you know the rudiments of blender unreal engine will be like a fantasy land for you, infact I haven't seen anyone who understands blender struggle with unreal engine, you can use unreal to quickly develop games and even create environments, they have a vast library of 3D assets too, it feels like candy land.

A good laptop to handle 3D rendering will depend on your budget. A 4gb Nvidia dedicated graphics card and 16/512gb should be around 650-670k, A 6gb Nvidia will go for 900-1.1m depending on the spec, gen of processor, for starters if you do not intend to spend too much I’ll recommend a 2-4gb Nvidia dedicated graphics card intel core i7(10th gen) with 16gb ram/512gb ssd this should be around 400-670k depending on the spec you settle for

I have been looking for an animator for a while now. I want to employ him. He can work remotely

Nice threads. Please I've been struggling to get into an animation school but those schools I find in ibadan are not offering animations courses. And it's hard to understand blender if there's no detail courses. I've watched few YouTube videos but I still don't have deeper knowledge. Don't know if I can get your please. Don't give out advice you know nothing about

Your brother is already doing well as a 3D modeler, he's actually good with blender ... but he needs an high end laptop to render his model in corona, redshift, iray, vray for more realistic look, blender cycles takes longer to render and eeve on the other hand doesn't render like cycle.

Also he needs a mentor.

How about Macbook pro M4? What do you think?

But watch out for Ai. Many graphic designers are taking a hit cos of the emergence of these ai tools like midjourney and stable diffusion

In graphics and motion graphics design, the ability to preview your work and render in real time is key. The graphics card is responsible for this.
External graphic cards are the real deal with 3D designs and modeling. Laptops cannot install external graphics card that are not factory produced.
Most of these graphics cards are so powerful and even more expensive than the computer. With a compatible desktop, one can easily make upgrades.
Video editors, motion graphics designers and light 3D creators use laptop, but heavy 3D creation are mostly done with desktop because of the ability to install an external high end graphics card that will enable fast preview and rendering.
