Redefining Success: How Olusoji Oyawoye Turned Academic Failure into Life Mastery

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acEyoHC0tcQ?si=M9DzGHBreMV3xsQ8

Olusoji Oyawoye, CEO of House 12, shares his incredible journey on The Bridge Podcast – from failing his secondary school exams with F9 parallel and graduating with a 3rd class degree to becoming a successful business and life coach.

He reveals why academic success doesn’t define life success and how self-recognition and strategic connections were key to his transformation.

Oyawoye also challenges Nigerians to stop changing themselves to please foreigners and to embrace their true identity.

Plus, he offers bold insights into Nigeria’s political climate, explaining why asking Tinubu to step down is a mistake.

This inspiring episode is packed with life lessons and fresh perspectives – don’t miss it!

Nice

A lot of Nigerian youth still assume that academic success is automatically a path to success in life.
In some cases it is but not all the time.
Academic failure is also not an automatic path to failure in life.

They assume that because they have a university degree, that means they should have the best of the world. That might have been true many decades ago but the world has changed. Billions of people have college degrees now hence it's of less importance now.

He sounds very intelligent. It's likely he has a learning disability such as dyslexia that was interfering with his testing. Back then, such impediments were not recognised and the student would be criticised for being dull, instead of adjusting the teaching ethod to suit the student.

Pre-2015, that held major truths but in a world of Forex, crypto, social media influencing and the likes, it does not any longer. Nevertheless, for children from average homes, attaining a good grade can create a pathway to a comfortable lifestyle which is much more better than what they had while growing up.

Fact

Back then, we didn't understand science to know kids with ADHD, Autism etc

Parents continued to beat kids that they're Olódò for failing in school.

Psychomotor etc is what's missing back then, now we understand better

You need smartness to succeed in all you do.

Not sure Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo can do well in class, but they're very skillful and smart footballers

You mean he also scored F9 in Yoruba language? It’s not so easy to make F9 parallel.

I once scored C in government without reading anything until the night before the exam.
