It is barely a $6b dollar project. Why is it still slow after 10yrs? undecided

I saw a video on Egypt new capital city worth $58b and the development has been impressive.

Invest your money to make it faster, the only thing the average Nigerian is good is talking.
Eko Atlantic city is an initiative of LASG the one you are comparing with is a national project building a new capital, u Iots are reaIIy pàthètic.
Egypt's new capital is financed majorly by the Chinese, if Tinubu replicate something like that today, u will make dozens of posts to tell us how it's not important, same way Lienus and his cronies will post and post but here u are making comparison between that a project initiated by a state govt.

Invest your money to make it faster.

They are wired to always complain.
Ask him if he tried to invest like $1b in EAC and the LASG rejected his investment.
Also, it's slow according to him because it's real money that they use to invest there and not those kind of Cubana Chief Priest and iPods online billionaire money.

It was built by a govt with excessive revenue from oil.
I always say the average Nigerian is only good at talking nothing more.
U all make comparisons only when it favors u, was America built by the government too?
Was the UK built by the Govt?
First bank is building a HQ there, them to build your own too instead of taIking.

Egypt is building a capital with money from China, I'm sure u will call any govt that tries that in Nigeria names without end.

People who talk and compare never contribute anything to the society, watch out for them in ur daily life in Nigeria and see, they never contribute anything, they are the type that will complain that a log of wood is laying across the road but call them to you so you remove it from the road, they will tell it's not their duty.

"America and UK was built by the govt" clearly shows u are Iost and shouldn't be making a post about society building in the first place.
Before posting about a topic, make a research, that's how you can post properly, the irony of posts in Nigeria is that it has no meaning, no aim and objectives, no scope, no justification, no direction, it's just fuelled by the urge to talk so even the poster most of the time is ignorant.

What about your state of Origin, it doesn't have money?
You can as well tell you state government to come up with such city and show LASG how best it should be done

I think you should stop given the illiterate an audience and see if this thread won't die a natural death.
It's clear that he is using your quotes and replies to gain more posts so that the thread can be pushed to the FP.
He is not worth arguing with, his level of reasoning is low and can only be compared with that of a local trader in Onitsha

If you're from the East, please and please and please, do your risk analysis, think twice before sinking money into another Ajaokuta Steel project. Your so-called investment could be bulldozed overnight for a transatlantic cable, a coastal highway, a drainage channel, or an overhead bridge—without warning, without compensation. History has shown that misplaced trust leads to bitter regrets. Act now, or be prepared to rant later.

There's a case of a $250m estate owned by an igbo lady somewhere around ibeju lekki that was demolished for the coastal highway and is trending here in the United States. Please don't be a victim of Nigeria. Do your risk analysis very well.

Tribal madness has so much entered this one that he calls $250m like it is pure water.....even the richest Hollywood stars that we have all known for decades don't have $250m tied up in real estate its now one nameless Igbo woman living in the USA that Forbes has no idea exists.

Or maybe she sells narcotics and its FBI most wanted list that I should be looking for her in grin

With or without your investments, Lagos will be Lagos, and it's only God that can submerge the place and change it's destiny to be no 1 in Africa in our lifetime.

Even Dangote, that Forbes officially recognises, only paid $100m for his refinery land that is officially 6 times the size of Victoria Island....it is now one namless Igbo woman that has a $250m investment in the same Lekki!

When we say go to school and invest in real education for yourself, some people no go hear, instead they will be coming to fill this board with their village tales by moonlight and irritating exaggerations.

dumb boy. America was built by the govt. Is it the private citizens that built all the roads, top universities, very tall skyscrapers, bridges, powerplants, etc undecided

You Nigerians should use your brains. Govt are responsible for the development of a place and not private.

So ignorant and wrong at every level. It's okay to be ignorant, but ignorant and loud?. No.
Get a small education on the question you have asked, and you will notice how dumb you sound.

Like I said before, take quality education seriously so you will not need to be showing the whole world your obvious weakness for lies and aggrandization.

So in the article written by, suprise suprise, your brother Chuka, where does it say the Igbo woman owns the estate and that the current value of her own investment is $250m?

Does it not say their are 500 developers in the estate and only identifies your sister as one of the many investors?

Does she not also say with her own mouth that her "wish" is to attract $250m worth of investment? Most of the investors named that signed the letter, are they Igbo?

So please my very challenged and insecure Igbo brother, how does your link prove the earlier rubbish you wrote and claimed before we had to waste our time challenging you as usual?

Could you not have made your point adequately without having to lionise your sister that seems to just be a pure marketer and agent?

That guy is the most annoying Nairalander bar non. I was berating him for similar malevolent ethnocentric talk lately. He is incorrigle. Beyond redemption. You have to understand that these people have mental issues.

Once you accept that, then you'll also accept the reality of how no one will ever be able to reason with them or make them see/accept what is logical and factual.

Take time to understand the concept. The overall picture becomes clearer. Eko Atlantic is a PPP (Public-private sector partnership project) the then Tinubu government concieved to primarily achieve two things. (1) The erection of effectively a wall of protection against ocean to land erosion that was threatening to submerge the Victoria Island axis.

(2) The creation of a brand new ultra-modern business and residential district that would be a superlative projects, like the Palms in Dubai, qualifying to be one of the finest in Africa. With this side of things, plots of land would be made available for sale to businesses and individuals.

Businesses can build residential project, business premises, retail parks etc. Individual who buy plots will mainly build private residences and perhaps mixed use projects that generates profit and income for them.

The primary brief of the government is funding and supervising the delivery of the number one aspect of the project I.e the erection of effectively a wall of protection against ocean to land erosion that was threatening to submerge the Victoria Island axis. This has been achieved long ago and VI is safe.

Number two aspect is what is responsible for the 'delay' as you perceive it. That is because this facet of the project depends entirely on how quickly potential investors in the project, bhssinness and private, (1) purchase land for sale and (2) complete their building projects after land has been purchased.

If land purchase is not happening as quickly as the LASG and their private sector partner/s anticipate then that is not the fault of anyone.

If those who have purchased land are not mobilising quickly to build and complete their projects then that also is not anyone's fault because you cannot browbeat investors, regarding project completion time, related to fully paid up plots of land that are some of the most expensive in Africa unless a refund for re-allocation scheme is in place.

Eko Atlantic is simply moving at the pace any PPP project in Africa today, with limited government financial input, will move at given dire global conditions that became especially gloomy post covid 19 universal setback. USA, for example, has a fully paid up plot at Eko Atlantic they wish to build their largest consulate in the world on.

LASG can only cajole and give 'friendly reminders' but cannot ultimately force the US to commence construction.

Ordinarily, and applied to most individuals worldwide, your advice is good. Yet I understand JagabanBorgu too. Nigerians are the most ungracious, immodest, emptily arrogant and difficult people in the world.

Most only take a core interest in what moves them personally. Yet they are always ready to put their ignorant mouth uncouthly into matters they know nothing about.

People who do not suffer fools gladly, because they know the effort they put into research to be informed and knowledgeable commentators, will eventually and routinely become insultively against most Nigerians whose public commentary style, based on confronting others ignorantly and uncouthly, is offensive.

The ignorant know-it- all-above-everyone-else persona of many Nigerians is what gets us hated worldwide. If Nigerians can be humble and summit themselves to learning from others then I am sure they'd get polite and gracious responses because not many are born to respond to polite and humble enquiries with vitriol.
