This is just to encourage someone here and also to thank the pioneer of this group, Mr Bellong. I stumbled on this group as at late 2016 and I followed it diligently. It took me time and I overcame different obstacles with time. Today, I am an Australian citizen, something I didn’t have in mind as at early 2016. If you have what it takes, go the skilled visa route. You will be happy you did at the end.✌️

tunlex01:Good evening Chief, I have tried over the past couple of weeks to solve the tax issues to no avail, they keep saying if I want to file it myself, it would be tagged self employed. I really don't know how to go about this. I'll appreciate suggestions on how to deal with this. |

HOMOTOYOSI10: Which state are you doing it from? Usually the State Internal revenue allows you to remit the tax if your employer hasn't done so. Alternatively, you can ask your employer to give you your tax remittance or deduction value and use it to pay at the internal revenue service. |

bellong:I have with both Lagos and Ogun state. In Lagos they said it would appear as self employment because the business isn't in their database, while in Ogun state they said it has to appear as self employment or they'd have to audit the business, and they'd have to fine them like half a million for each year my tax wasn't filed. |

HOMOTOYOSI10: Tax clearance is not a compulsory requirement though. A third party evidence of salary payment is important. So you can provide your bank statement showing salary payment and your pension statement. |

Please will VITASSESS assess an MSc and PhD from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, equivalent to that obtained from Australia?

Please which English test is the easier to get a ‘superior’ score in this Australia Journey? I wrote IELTS before but I didn’t quite get the score I needed.
|
JackTheReaper: 4:15pm On Mar 30 |
Wisdommyth:I've written both IELTS and PTE Academic. My first IELTS attempt was L8.5 R8 W8 S7. I then wrote PTE and got L90 R86 W90 S69 I then applied for IELTS speaking retake and got 8. My opinion, PTE is more computerised sort of. There are hacks to it, especially the speaking section and it might be easier to get superior. I preferred the IELTS speaking to PTE cos I get to speak to a human examiner, physically or virtually. I'm more composed than when it's just with the PTE computer. Check YouTube videos on PTE hacks and master it well. You'll definitely achieve it.. What was your IELTS score? 2 Likes |

JackTheReaper: Thank you very much for this well detailed response. I really appreciate your help. I believe with my prior experience with IELTS, I could be able to ace the test in another attempt. 1 Like |

dest4real: PhD should be able to get equivalent depending on the content of your program. Years of completion and the course work before thesis. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello @tunlex01, and thank you to everyone for all the helpful information shared here, it has been truly valuable. I'm currently looking to migrate to Australia through the PR skilled worker route, but I’ve been quite confused about the entire process. My current occupation is DevOps Engineer 4yrs + experience (full time and Freelance), but the role doesn’t seem to be clearly listed in the occupation list. I also checked the previous invitation rounds, and I noticed that DevOps Engineers and Photographers were not among the invited occupations. In addition to my work in DevOps, I’m also a full-time professional photographer and freelance photo editor 6yrs +, with all my invoices properly documented. but, I haven't been paying tax on the photography income sha. I’d appreciate guidance on: Which visa would best suit either of my professions? What are my chances of getting invited based on my current situation? Thank you in advance! |

Help me answer the following questions I have interest in applying for a skilled work visa but below are my following conundrums - I have no bachelor degree - I am above 30yrs old but below 35yrs old - I speak and write good english as i have work on whitepapers for 2 icos for almost a year - I am a self employed and i get paid from different clients for work and even though i had my business ed few years ago, I do not pay TAX. - Talking about work experiences, I do not know the best way to proof my work experiences since they will need tax docs, bank statements showing monthly payments from a company etc With all of these, do i still have hope? 1 Like |

Hello everyone, Please, I need the advice of experienced people here. I am an Internal Auditor with over 8 years of work experience. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Chartered ant (ICAN Chartered). I am looking at migrating to Australia using the PR route. I am considering two options: Going through the Internal Auditor route (Assessing with VETASSESS) or going as a Cybersecurity Professional (Assessing with ACS as a Cybersecurity Governance professional). For the latter, I would need at least a certification in Cybersecurity (CISA), which I am already planning on writing the exams and getting the certification. I was told by a friend who migrated to Australia via a Master's degree program, that the points for IT is very high, that I would need at least 95 points due to the competition in IT. He told me the competition for Internal Audit is not too high, but he doesn't think the profession is in high demand. My concern with evaluating with VETASSESS is if my academic qualifications will be evaluated for Internal Audit since my degrees are in Engineering but I have solid experience in Internal Audit. And also if the profession is really in demand? Please guys I need your advice. I actually would prefer going via the IT Audit path as that is my preferred career path and I am already working on getting the required certifications. But I am concerned with the high competition in IT. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Cutejaelyn: First of all, A big thanks for sharing your situation. And Cheers for comng forward. Honestly, it will be very tough. As no bachelors degree and tax records. You dont have a bachelors degree, but do you have a diploma (say OND or HND) It seems the route i can think of is via education. A diploma/vocational course in Australia. Diploma in Nursing or Education etc. With this route you can apply for a work and PR visa. However with the elections and housing crisis, migration is nowa contentious issue in australia Migrants with dark shades of skin color are being blamed by politicians, government (that refuse to solve the problems of building more social housing ), media and everyone for the crisis. Just my humble 2 cents. |
