Hi
I plan inviting my parents to the uk and sponsoring trip

Is £1500 each enough to put in the application as what I intend spending for their 2 weeks visit

Yes, it's fine

Good morning
Retired parent didn’t submit a bank statement as part of their last visit visa application that was granted. Should they submit one now for renewal?

No council tax bill, does an electricity bill suffice as proof of address?

Thank you

@justwise @cashmadam

They don't need any bill from you as proof as address. Add your birth certificate, data page of your port, document to show your status in the UK, statement of . You can add a letter of sponsorship if you wish. If your parents have money in their s, you can add them. If not, don't bother since they didn't use it earlier. Stick to what has worked for you in the past.

Hi Guys, so my friend is looking to his Gf's visa (a nurse) as a dependent. The issue is that they haven't been together for 2 years, and they live separately due to different work locations. Their wedding is planned for next year, but he needs to her visa as soon as possible as his visa will expire in 6 months.

Someone mentioned doing a proxy wedding from Nigeria and using the certificate for the dependent visa instead of going to Nigeria.

Does anyone have any idea how this might work? Thanks

Not true. Had £3k in my acct when I sponsored my mom, she had 1m naira in her bank when we applied (my dad transferred 500k to her few days before application and it was explained in cover letter as travel but there are loads of transactions from my dad to her for groceries and upkeep). she’s 50, she has a shop. We just keep everything real. The documents from her side are her port, 2 months SOA, my birth certificate, our pictures when I was few days old till last time we were together. Then from my side are 3 months pay slip, 1 month SOA, tenancy agreement, work ID, Certificate of achievement from work, my driving license. Her budget is £1,100 for one month. Very simple and basic application. Cover letters are direct straight to the point and about have a page from both of us.

This amount is outrageous
things to Conside .How long is she staying in UK?
you need to develope a budget
flight Price depends on when she is travelling Summer is most expensive above GBP 1000 while off peak time is less than GBP 1000
I think for 1 Person GBP 1,500 is fine and if you have times 2 of the amount in your it is okay

You need to proof that you guys have been in relationship for two years and have been living together.
Pictures, call logs, chat logs, vacation history together (or not), house rent share, bills share should suffice.

Immigration info is kept for a lifetime. A person’s luck is when they do not investigate you- if they mistakenly as much as look into your details more than the ordinary- every hidden information will be unravelled as nothing gets deleted.
Someone I personally know- a father coming for his son’s graduation - received a 10-year ban last month for an incident from 1999. This was 25 years ago, and at that time, there were no fingerprints involved. Even now, he is unsure how the authorities discovered the information. In the 1990s, he entered the UK with visit visa, overstayed and left voluntarily same over 20 years ago. Given the time that has ed, everyone believed there was no way this information could still be on record, so they answered "no" to questions about illegal entry, overstay, border entry refusals and visa refusals on their application. Unfortunately, refusal letter came with 10 yr ban starting from 2025.
I have advised them to send an apology letter in the very minimum so that it will be on record.

I know US is for a lifetime. I'm not sure about the UK...

However, assume it's at least 30 - 40 years

Congratulations, Please kindly share what you did differently after the Refusal.

The reason for the refusal is in the attached email. What I did differently was to attach a schedule of explanations of the deposits into my with backing evidence for the explanations.

I also included proof of my US visit which I didn’t include in the first application.

Also included a cover letter spelling out my ties to Nigeria including the fact that I am a valuable staff at my job and I included my LinkedIn details and awards and commendations from work.

Why is it difficult for this man that owns Air Peace to fix the inflight entertainment system? Since 2024.

This is a March, 2025 review.

6 hours flight, no screen, no WiFi

Pathetic

Another review, talking about how rude the staff were.

He said they're frowned at people as if they're been forced .

They used bedsheets to hit people while working along the aisle.

Na wa oo.

Buy Nigeria, Buy Nigeria, but almost everything in Nigeria is upside down 👇👎

This I s even a private business

I'm really in a state of dilemma.

So here's the thing, I was hoping to write my OSCE exam on the 12th of March, but I got refused, So, before then, I had done an interview with a certain trust sometime in January.

So after the interview, I got an email that they are unable to employ me now, but they will get back to me after they've done internal findings on whether they should create a second position for me. I was glad, at least that was not a rejection mail or an unfortunate mail.

So, I kept hope alive, hoping that by the time they are done with their internal findings, I would have secured my visa to come and write OSCE. Although during the interview, they discussed about me having to write my OSCE by the time I get there that they have an in-house trainer. I even told them during the interview that I was even planning to come and write my OSCE myself. And they were more glad to hear that.

So, later sometime this month, I think it was last week, I got a mail from the trust that I have been employed. In fact, it was explicitly stated in the email the manager sent “welcome to the team”. So, the conditional offer letter came. I got in the process of recruitment checks. So, it was during the recruitment checks that the HR or the recruitment assistant that was assigned to me started demanding for the OSCE certificate or evidence as part of the credentials needed to be checked.

I told her that my visa was refused and there is no way I can apply for another visa because it takes a process to getting it done. I also enquired whether the trust offers COS, but the reply she gave was that they cannot offer me any COS until I have ed my OSCE which she even said must be in one attempt .

My concern is, why didn't the interviewers mention this at all during my conversations with them? They were even the one telling me that when I come over, I would have to be trained for OSCE, that they have a particular OSCE trainer that would train me and all that. And now it’s different from what the recruitment assistant is saying, that I would have to be fully ed with NMC, that is, ing my OSCE before I can be given a COS.

I'm really at a crossroads. I don't know what to do. I sent a mail to the manager for further clarification. She's currently not at work. The issue is rebooking the OSCE is not my problem, but getting a guaranteed visa is . What do you think I can do? Can this job offer and other email exchange serve as a valid evidence for ECO to grant me visa to come for the exam? As it stands now sef, I can only provide 2 months evidence of bank statement February and March.

Pleasew note that your managers and or interviewers are oblivious of HR checks, just pray and ask the line manager to intercede on your behalf with the HR, every department na boss in their line , and nothing your line manager can do than to intersede

lol, they now know the reason he wants to do the OSCE is to switch to work visa, of which even if they grant him that visa , he has to return to Nigeria and apply before he can be granted the Visa , his only chance is for that NHS to issue COS ASAP or his manager to persuade the HR to issue it.

Yes, i mailed the manager, but no response yet. In fact, the manager has been there every step of the way right from the time i got the physical interview invite in which i mailed her that i'd like to do virtual because i'm not in the UK up till the recruitment checks that's also meant to be physical. And I equally mailed her and they changed it to virtual. In all these, i carried the manager along about my visa refusal.

The screenshot below was when i got the mail for physical ID check. I mailed her immediately and this was her response

Thank you, ma. I honestly do not have issues with reapplying even today as all documents are intact. But my financial circumstances as revealed on my bank statement might be picked on. Although i have a sponsor in the UK that's ready to foot all bills even to my priority visa application. But I can only present evidence of 700k in my salary with both salary credits and expenses well defined . But it's just 2 months.

Also, can the offer letter and email exchange be used as ing documents?

Yes, you can use the offer letter and email as ing documents.

If you have a sponsor, then get the sponsor to provide evidence of funds and you need to explain why this person is sponsoring you (an adult).

It's not an ideal situation but really, nothing is impossible.
