In 1962, a young Nigerian engineer took on a challenge that would power a nation. His name? Clement Onyemelukwe.

At just 34, he became Chief Electrical Engineer and spearheaded the design of Nigeria’s National Grid—a system that still supplies electricity today. With vision and precision, he connected the country like never before, ensuring homes, industries, and businesses had access to power.

His work laid the foundation for Nigeria’s modern electricity network, yet many don’t know his name. Clement Onyemelukwe wasn’t just an engineer; he was a nation-builder.

Copied!

Igbos are great people

Without this great man from the south east, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Ondo and Oyo state won't have electricity today.

Good for him.
No wonder the grid kept falling.
The tv,newspaper, the numerous facilities the SW gave to Nigeria kept growing stronger.
I hope they allow a SW person design an original grid for Nigeria sha.

What have you ever gotten right since you were begoted?

This can't be true
As at 1962, less than 20% of Nigeria had access to electricity and the only power station was the steam engine in Ijora
How can you have a grid when you don't have sufficient power being generated?
Nigeria's present grid would have been developed in the 70s not 60s
But maybe he developed a framework that the developers of the grid followed sha

Drug lords and drug people are only in Igboland.
Yorubas are the most industrious and clean business people in Africa and beyond.

By far. With the emphasis on "clean business". Check out the inspirational young lady below who owns the first online savings and investment app in West Africa. Do Igbos, empty noisemakers and delusional megalomaniac, have even one equivalent of her?

Whereas Yorubas have so many who are unknown, because Yorubas don't 'loud it', and are working silently while changing Nigeria and the world. Yorubas are so far gone, others don't even have a clue because the ethnic group is modest and not garrulously boastful and insecure as the IPOB lot.

Bruv, shut up. This is not twenty five years ago when you lot made blatantly false claims and concocted tall tales no one could nor dispute.

Today, verified info is online that shows you Igbos are nothing but mouth. Nothing at all. A joke of a people even who always attack and insult Yorubas because you know, in your hearts, they are far better, more intelligent and more productive than you lot are.

Lol. Trust a Mumu like you to contribute dullardly comments. We celebrate the achievement of this boss because Yorubas are not haters. We acknowledge the fact others are brilliant too and do not engage in redundant supremacist pontification as you insecure empty barrels.

Yet when you lot come out with emptily supremacist talk you feel shades the Yorubas, based on the few achievers you have/had, we must call you out. Are Yorubas your mates today?

You can pick any field let us compare. Be it politics, Banking, law, architecture, IT, entertainment, global big screen film making etc, etc. Yoruba, a humble and gracious people, are so far gone it is a shame to you empty noisemakers.

Scour the net all day and try to find one of your olosho sisters, who is not a diasporan, that is the equivalent of the young lady below amongst your sisters in Nigeria too busy selling pussy and anything they can for cash, like their own babies, and we can talk.

Even the guy interviewing her is a boss dude. Google Fisayo Fosudo. These guys are Nigerian born and bred mixing it internationally. You Igbos better get to work as you have lost your glory totally. Perhaps you never had any glory even and only lack of Internet, giving quick access to definitive info, helped your lies of 'greatness', over the past 40 years, appear to be reality.
