Many Christians have backslided from attending church service due to one reason or the other.

I am no here to judge, I only wish you can tell us your peculiar reason for you to stop attending church and hopefully someone might be here to advice you on what to do.

No one is perfect, we all learn from birth to death always have a open heart to the endless possibilities been alive.

Eye service in Nigerian churches is on another level, especially those Abuja churches. Once they notice you are not rich or you don't asslick the rich , they zone you out. Everyone competing for best dressed award, competing for who speak big grammar , competing for Daddy G.O's attention.
If you don't have a car, nobody go look your face. If you don't sow seed regularly, nobody go respect you. Fake love everywhere, fake smiles everywhere. O boy! It's so tiring.
If you want to see hypocrisy in it's true form, attend Abuja churches.

The rate at which money is been demanded from is alarming. Every Sunday, one contribution or another. And those who contribute more, are more recognized. You are automatically relegated to the corner once u don’t donate as u should.

This is happening in a Catholic Church for that matter. A church that does not concentrate on money but some rev fathers have taken it to another level.

It’s even so bad that are tasked for the welfare of the priest. Like do u know how the member is coping with his family? You are a priest, you are paid good salaries yet u want to organise food and other items for you.

I have stopped attending church. I only go on special occasions like Christmas,
New Year and Easter days

If you've experienced the real church in the good old days or you've had an ultimate encounter with God while going to church, no church politics, pastor's misbehavior or church shortcomings would stop you from going to church. You're not going because you've not substantially experienced God

I hardly go to church anymore because I realize it is a waste of time. Why? Because no single pastor can answer this question.

Is the rapture going to happen before the great tribulation or after it. No church can answer this.

Plus, there is no hate like Christian love. Christians are hateful people. You fall and instead of them to help you on your feet, you get mocked and treated like an outcast. I can assure you, the most wicked man or woman you will ever meet, has a bible in his drawer.

I prefer to be true to myself. I can't be part of such a hateful bunch.

Nope, i disagree .. most have not backslided but have been discourage by various factors ... one of which is pastors attitude these days ...

U can't claim to be a pastor and talk to me anyhow cos i play keyboard for your church ... it will take the grace of God for us not to have a verbal encounter ...

That's why most people prefer to stream services of other churches at home and have a peaceful sunday ...

Because they understand the concept of what church means goes way above the one you portray here.

The demand for money is too much and above all there are lots of less privileges in churches, but you will hardly hear them say a thing about helping them.

I get that churches need money to function, but during COVID-19, I didn't see any church try to help it's who were struggling.

The focus on money that parishioners don't have is alarming. Jesus made us believe that giving from your heart is the ultimate, but today, if your giving does not do dorime in church, you're ordinary.

Are we going to talk about the ones we look up to pastors and priests? Lets leave Christians and their excesses. Let's talk about the so called holy ones. How many of them are holy? Now we have gay priests and pastors. Priest and pastors flocking with young girls and boys in their congregation.

Politics in churches are at an all time high

1. Miracle churches are too dramatic and will give you false hope... You'll forever be living in fear of witches coming after you on a daily basis, every small thing you'll be shouting "Holy Ghost fire"...🔥🔥🔥

2. Prosperity churches will milk you dry, they will tell you that if you give a certain amount, your blessings with double or triple and before you know it, your bank will be empty.

3. Bible churches are too strict, they will make you to study the Bible from genesis to revelation within a year as if you're training to be a pastor.

4. Contemporary churches are good, but can be boring, especially if you're an African and used to going to those dramatic churches... They're mostly dominated by white people.

5. Indigenous churches are weird... They'll tell you not to come to their church if you've just been to a funeral, and how can I forget how one indigenous church once kept my husband and I in a room with burning chillies as punishment for breaking their rules despite us not being of their church... We were just ing by the church to get something from one relative of mine who's a member when they spotted us and took us into this one room and kept us inside for about 30 minutes with burning chillies simply because my husband wore shorts and t-shirt instead of tros and a jacket while I didn't cover my hair and my dress was reaching the knee level instead of it being long... The room was filled with smoke and my husband coughed and sneezed for the entire 30 minutes while I at least had strong resistance to the chilli smoke.

6. I've only been to a Roman Catholic church once and it was on a wedding day, so I can't say much about it... But the pastor took too long to officiate the couple, I slept and woke up with him still busy with the wedding celebrants... It was like a normal church service and apparently that's how they do it in Roman Catholic, it took for about three to four hours... We even ate the sacramental bread and drank white... grin grin grin

Hmm which church do you attend that is doing favouritism to the rich in Abuja or is this a general thing in Abuja churches.
Seems like 9ja churches are always looking at the size of your picket even in abroad here in North America and Europe.....

Well, I've attended 4 different churches in Abuja but I was trying to be committed to one until I noticed the favouritism. I even tried ing the protocol unit but the requirements were unbelievable. I was told the particular kind of suit to buy and also the quality and also to buy them in different colors.

These are suits that cost 50,000 and above. Currently I'm still an undergraduate and can't possibly afford this. I also noticed a trend, where if the clothes you wear are not of a high quality or look expensive, they will find a way to move you to the gallery to attend the service. This is on higher floor in the building.

The pastor preaches on the ground floor where there are cameras and all. The gallery has no cameras recording, so they'll put you there because you don't have fine clothes.

I had to stop attending because I couldn't stand the segregation. I wonder when clothes and your financial standing became a prerequisite for attending church.

It's been a while sir, I hope you're good? I really need some financial assistance. If you can help me sir, I'd be very grateful.
