Russian Spetnaz Infiltrates Ukrainian Fortress Through A Gas Pipeline (233 Views)

Russian forces crawled through a 1.4-metre-wide unused gas pipeline to attack Ukrainian troops in Sudzha in Russia's Kursk region, Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed. The audacious plan came as Moscow moved to recapture parts of its border province that Kyiv had seized in a shock offensive last August. The gas pipeline in question is almost certainly the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod pipeline, a Soviet-era infrastructure project that once served as a critical artery for Russian natural gas exports to Europe. Stretching from Siberia through Russia’s Kursk region and into Ukraine, it es through Sudzha, a border town that has become a focal point in the conflict. Historically, this pipeline was a cornerstone of Moscow’s energy dominance in Europe, channeling vast quantities of gas westward and generating billions in revenue. Even after Russia’s full-scale military operation in Ukraine began in February 2022, the pipeline continued to operate under a transit agreement between Moscow and Kyiv, a rare point of cooperation amid the chaos. That agreement, however, expired on December 31, 2024, and Ukraine declined to renew it, effectively halting the flow of Russian gas through its territory as of January 1, 2025. Kyiv’s decision was driven by a mix of strategic and political motives, including a desire to deprive Russia of revenue and to align more closely with Western efforts to reduce Europe’s dependence on Russian energy. The shutdown marked a significant shift, leaving the pipeline dormant—a silent relic of a bygone era now repurposed, it seems, as a potential tool of war. Some Russian troops had spent several days in the pipe before striking Ukrainian units from the rear, near the town of Sudzha, Podolyaka claimed. Sudzha is a Russian town of some 5,000 residents which houses major gas transfer and measuring stations along the pipeline and was once a major outlet for Russian natural gas exports through Ukrainian territory. Russian Telegram channels showed photos of what they said were special forces operatives, wearing gas masks and moving along what looked like the inside of a large pipe. “At present, Russian special forces are being detected, blocked and destroyed. The enemy’s losses in Sudzha are very high,” the General Staff reported. Euronews could not independently confirm these claim. Ukraine launched in August 2024, a daring cross-border incursion into Kursk, in what marked the largest attack on Russian territory since World War II. Within days, Ukrainian units had captured around 800 square kilometres of territory, including the strategic border town of Sudzha, and taken hundreds of Russian civilians as prisoners of war. According to analysts, the operation is aimed to gain a bargaining chip in future peace talks and force Russia to divert troops away from its grinding offensive in eastern Ukraine, which by all s is stemming towards failure. Moscow has since used some 50,000 troops, to push back the Ukrainian forces, reports claim. Ukraine now control less than 230km² of land in Kurst oblast, down from over 800km² it held in August 2024. OPERATION POTOK The former commander of the 3rd assault squad of the Wagner PMC "Zombie", and now the commander of the Vostok DRShB, spoke about the incredible special operation in the Kursk region. The operation was developed over three weeks, and large forces and measures were involved. I do hope you aware that Ukrainian forces ambushed the group of cowards, collapsing the tunnel exit to prevent escape. Sources say approximately 80% of the Russian personnel were reportedly killed in the operation. 😂😂 Just like Hamas, sneaking up like cowards! Tunnel boys. https://global.espreso.tv/russia-ukraine-war-ukrainian-forces-eliminate-russian-sabotage-group-attempting-underground-infiltration-near-sudzha?utm_source=perplexity |

Botragelad:Sources? You must be a joke. Look up to the pictures posted as evidence and tell me what you see? If you have a clear vision which I doubt, you'll see pictures of men covered with dirt from transversing a pipeline of 15kms for days. That picture shows a successful landing from the Russia's pov. Now, give me pictures of these men you claim to have been killed. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
