What Is The Future Of Dstv With Their Random Calling Of Subscribers ? (1962 Views)
(1) Go Down)

Dstv failed to provide internet connection with their satellite connection to subscribers. Even with the internet age we are currently in now. Why would anyone subscribe to dstv when they already subscribe to internet data and countless of streaming resources and better contents. Alot of men subscribed to dstv because of their wife and kids and it’s not even a value for money. With the youtube tv for kids and TikTok already, subscribing to dstv is not even an option right now. since TikTok is even better now than watching dstv alot of women and young people now value and prefer TikTok instead of watching tv. The future of dstv is already doom and glaring. For sure you will still have subscribers but it will continue to decline. Those random calling will not help anymore since smart tv is the trend right now 12 Likes |

DSTV has already gone the way of Kodak and Compaq but they just don't know it yet. There was a time when 2go seemed to be the happening online forum then, but where are they today?

With Smart tv or an android box with countless free apps for steaming contents, why sub DStv? I have over 1year dump my decoder for Android box.

fineboynl:the major asset they have is the EPL and football rights. Their other programs are additional services not their core target. They simply have to remodel themselves to he like a Netflix. Cheaper and more efficient than maintain infrastructure for decoder/satelite 1 Like |

Please 🙏🏼 you guys should stop blaming DStv Put the blame squarely on these evil, wicked, heartless APC regime. Before now, before these demons appeared on the scene, this DStv was very very conveniently affordable, even students were subscribing regularly These APC regime are just acting like what USSR (Russia) the soviet union Communist leader Joseph Stalin described. Defeathering (plucking the feathers) of a chicken alive Then goes ahead to throw grains of food on the floor while the chicken is in pain walking around bleeding! You can see them sharing rice and foodstuffs all round the country after causing starvation, deprivation, hunger 7 Likes |

I don't see Dstv going anywhere. Yes, they may lose customers, but a good majority will still stick with DSTV because, compared to data subscriptions, they are still the cheaper alternative, and so far, there are no strong competitors in the cable TV space for the time being.

Ojemedad:DSTV was founded less than 30 years ago. There are many companies over a hundred years old still waxing strong till today, coca cola is almost 150 years old and still doesn't show any sign of distress. What's the secret? Innovation. Adaptation. Even as a human being if you don't learn to adapt to change and harsh conditions then you're likely to fizzle out of relevance and existence. 8 Likes |

I prefer DStv over any online tv thingy. You just can't compare. There are some shows you can only get on DStv. Shows you can't get online without having to pay to watch them on their networks. every mallam with his kettle. 2 Likes |

rdsco: I cannot believe you're saying this in the year 2025. There is NO content (emphasis on the no) on dstv that you cannot watch online without having to pay any extra to any network if you know where to look 3 Likes |

Can even the last time i sat in front of a TV to watch anything - movies, football, music. Some will even start a movie and won't complete it - electricity, lack of interest along d way Some will be infront of a TV but for 2hours, na phone dem dey press. Even hotels dont dey use scopes n formats Current DSTV has no content, repetition is like Jollof rice to them. Its boring, no any interesting programs. Its all bullshit nowadays 3 Likes |

Anyone who studied business or management in school will know about the concept of the business circle. Every business will eventually get to the death stage where it will gradually lose value and die. This is exactly what is happening to DSTV. |

There’s a certain level of revenue DStv needs to maintain to stay afloat, and those of you still using the service will continue to bear the cost. If the number of subscribers drops by another 50%, the cost of subscription will increase proportionally. It's that simple o. Good luck to y'all 😂 The idea of pay-per-view won't even work. Subscribers pay monthly for Netflix, Prime, etc. The main issue is that dstv decoders and dish now belong to the analogue age. Pay-per-view won't make any difference, especially now that content creators and movie makers like Ruth Kadiri have started tasting YouTube and Netflix money. Make dem leave YouTube $$ for dstv Rand abi Naira? 😂 Any clueless person can open a YouTube channel at zero cost and make some $$. You will spend billions to get a Dstv channel and make nothing. I how MOGs back then would pay for airtime on DStv and then beg viewers for money to sustain their programs. It was always a ridiculous and awkward sight. Today, just one week of the Hallelujah Challenge on YouTube and Instagram can comfortably cover Nathaniel Bassey’s running costs and his team’s expenses for months. DStv turned our MOGs into beggars, took so much from both the creators and the viewers, only to repatriate those funds to South Africa. Omoni Oboli dropped a movie on Friday, and in about 24 hours, the movie got over a million views, almost suring Wizkid's new Kese video on YouTube. If na you, you go go back to Dstv? Online entertainment is the new hack. 8 Likes 4 Shares |
