Gov Sim Fubara of Rivers State has broken government’s silence over the Supreme Court rulings Friday, urging the people of the state to go about their businesses. Urging the masses to be calm, the governor made it clear that the crucial issue was whether the defected lawmakers were still legitimate of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He said that question was not before the Supreme Court for resolution, but was still at the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt for determination. In a statement by Joe Johnson, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, the state government said they had taken note of reports in the media regarding the recent judgment of the Supreme Court concerning the funds of Rivers State and the istration of local governments in the state. “At this time, we are awaiting a detailed briefing on the implications of the judgment. We will carefully evaluate the situation and determine the next steps to take in the best interest of Rivers State and its people. “Though we have not got the details of the judgment from our legal team, we en Rivers people to remain calm, law abiding and go about our legitimate businesses as we seek clarity on the judgment. “We believe that the determination of the main issue of defection of the 27 lawmakers is a matter not before the Supreme Court as it is pending at the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt. “Since the issue of defection wasn’t on the table before the learned Justices, in their eyes, Amaewhule and the 26 others are still operating as lawmakers until that matter of defection comes before them.”

Next week go sweet well well.. 😂 When it starts, do not come here to lament about killings in Rivers state... When it starts, do not come here to start blackmailing any region .. You can't withhold allocations to a state that contributes majorly to the federal purse. It doesn't work like that. Many of the posters here are babies. Kids who didn't see the agitations in the early 2000s.. The situation in Rivers state is a sensitive matter and its unfortunate it is being handled with recklessness to suit a few crooked men but no whala. 😂 When oil pipelines start going BOOM, do not come here to blackmail anybody. Your supreme court has lost legitimacy. That is what should worry any right thinking person. On this Rivers issue, JUSTICE has been seen to NOT HAVE BEEN DONE! On social media, more than half of people are condemning the antics of Wike and Tinubu in Rivers state all for 2027 politics.... and our supreme crooked Court are merely seen as a weapon in this drama by the aforementioned thieves. Hold Wike and Tinubu responsible for the bloodshed in the coming weeks. Rivers is NOT Lagos! We do NOT bow down to any Godfather! Rivers people are fully behind SIM just as we were behind Wike against Amaechi which is now clear was a dumb decision. We made Wike the god he is today and we will UNMAKE HIM!! Wike has bitten off far more than he can chew. One man CANNOT and WILL NOT be allowed to constitute a nuisance in Rivers state... no way!! We will declare him persona non grata in Rivers state very very soon. Since he believes he owns the state we will show him how false that notion is. When we start with him, NO ONE should come here to scream human right and calling ICC at the hague. This is beyond Fubara... that is what people don't know. The day Rivers people decide to natch onto the streets, no one should come here to shout rule of law... a concept they clearly don't understand.
