Charge them full before connecting in parallel.
Charge to 56V float and bulk and cut off at 48V

Good morning people, I've been following this thread and it's been very useful.

I want to setup a solar system in my house, preferably with a 7-8kwh battery.
I intend getting jinko s 615 watts for this setup(please how many would I need). I also intended on getting a growatt spf 5000ES(1 mppt, 5kw) inverter but then I saw the spf 6000ES(2 mppt, 6kw) at fouani and shockingly the 6000ES was cheaper(this gave me concerns) and what gave me more doubt was that they both had a 2 year warranty while the sph 5000 tl-bl-up which is twice the price has a 5 year warranty(I suspect it's transformer based), is it advisable I get this instead as I'm concerned about long term quality.

Also, is felicity 7.2 kwh battery good to go for this project cos I wanted to get growatt but the highest stand alone growatt battery I saw at fouani was 5.5kwh and it's a bit more expensive than the 7.2 kwh felicity battery.

I also would like a system that would give priority to my load during the day and use what's left to charge the batteries. Would the growatt sph 5000 tl-bl-up inverter be able to do this ?

Added to what everyone has said, your pic indicates the CC has considered your batteries as full, so that's why you are seeing only about 200w coming in from the s which is basically what you are using in the house at the moment of the pic.
There's no problem with that.
Just try to follow the advice of getting a better battery like lithium so that you can comfortably charge with 1400wh seeing you are using a small 60a CC. You'll never get the full power of your s too except you change to 100a cc. Even if you do, only lithium batteries can chest that high charge current and not tubular batteries

One of the PROs of Lithium batteries is their high charge rate

1. First ensure they have same Voltage ratings e.g 48-volts, 36-volts, etc; Very important. If they are not, abeg no try combine them at all.

2. Hopefully the Lithium batteries are of same type e.g both Lithium nmc or LiFePO4 or Lithium ion.

3. Hopefully their discharge rates are same or at least close enough. Would suggest keeping an eye on this also. To be on safe side, let each battery have their own BMS.

4. You should be concerned about their state of charge. Even if currently each are 100% charged, over time, one surely would run down faster than the other causing an imbalance hence simple physics occurs where the weaker drags the stronger to it's level.
You might be needing a BMS to help monitor and balance them regularly. Please don't ignore this else the battery with higher capacity goes bad after a while.

A quick google search, followed by a phone call says MiV energy doesn't manufacture MPPT charge controllers.

So guys I just found a very unique solution to this rechargeable fan batteries problem. I have changed my lead acid batteries twice atleast and unfortunately they don't last very long. As a result I have been searching for ways to get a lithium ion battery technology as a replacement.

An idea struck me, since I have 2 battery banks for Airtel Router, and they both have 12v cords, why not test to see if they can power the fan by plugging in to the 12v dc input of the fan.

Lo and behold I got my solution. Plugged it in directly and it's working. My battery is rated at 7.4v, 38wh, charges with a 5v, 2A charger. The previous battery were 2 4.5 ah, 6v batteries connected in series.
It powers my rechargeable fan quite well although I haven't tested for how long. It's significantly lighter due to Lithium ion technology and also rated to have a longer lifespan than lead acid batteries. What do you think?

Mind you dropping to 7.4v means the fan speed dropped a bit but I can always use the second speed option which is super sufficient. I have no prior knowledge of these things, is there a downside to it?

Having the same Rechargeable fan issue. A Qasa fan with 12v 7aH lead acid battery. Battery that came with the fan lasted for about nine months and packed up. Bought a replacement from Qasa's Jumia store which lasted for just two months effectively and is already on its way out.

My small 5ah lithium is running 2hrs and counting on speed 2 and I've had that battery for more than a year using for my router.

Boss, 20ah will charge directly from fan 12v input charger? Without needing bms or stuffs 🤔

You feel say my anti-lead acid campaign na with clear eye? I dey buy new car battery every year, don buy new fan battery, my guy wey do solar with tubular sef his batteries are on life at this point after just 18 months.

I would be a very happy man if I could eliminate lead acid from my life entirely

Once in a while. It can go from 700w to 3000w. The higher the wattage the faster it’ll cook.

I usually set it to 2000w and it boils egg in 8mins.

Get Battery from VALTO. better quality with actual stated value. ( I have bought 6 pieces of 16kw batteries from him).
7kwh is enough for night use
Please buy more s. I cant emphasize the importance of adding more s. You will produce more during the day and during low light conditions like rain and cloudy weather. You can run your AC during the day and run the fan on battery power at night. Concrete and mason absorbs heat during the day and release at night so if you run your Ac during the day, you can mitigate those effects.

Bros, im on your side. I hate lead acid battery. Its a waste of time and money. Its better to get the smallest Lifepo4 battery, increase the capacity as you make more money than buying lead acid. A 2kw Lifepo4 battery is better than a 20kw lead acid battery. You charge faster, 6000 cycle life vs 800-1000 cycle life for lead acid. Why is lead acid in the discussion in 2025? Why throw your money away??
With solar its even worse. not enough sunlight to float and equalize the battery..
I would say , what kills most lead acid battery in Nigeria is undercharging than overuse. 2 years later, when its time to replace it, you pay way more but with lesser quality.

This is a niche that I expect those in the battery business to fill. There are people who have not the slightest idea on how to handle common screwDriver.

Would suggest you get a (used) 100AH leadAcid battery and a small solar e.g 150-watts with a less than 8,000 naira PWM charge controller and you have a battery bank that lasts you very very well.

Mind you, that your Airtel router doesn't even consume up to 12-volts Ooo. Person like me go don give am much lower if I get em time

Ah, except the wattage of such 12-volts battery is [very] low , na wahala you dey find be that. Even at that, there are different stages of charge and doing the above skips those hence you end up damaging the battery with time.

As for having the battery on the router for over a year, don't expect it to last that long while being used on the Fan Ooo.

Those in the battery business (even those in this forum) could easily do this. Guess mayBe they don't see enough requests to look into it.

But really, it's very simple even if you be Novice, try use electrician make e help you.

Has anyone here stored Lifepo4 battery for 3 years?
If yes, what was the health of the battery (individual voltage measurement)?
I've only stored mine for 1 year at 50% soc and the cells were all sound when I returned.

One of my customers want to travel for 3 years.
