Good day all,
I have learnt a lot theoretically on this thread and I so much appreciate it. Can any one suggest a well reputable and recognized solar company in Lagos where one can get certified with solar installation- more on practical training? Thanks

Sorry sir! Alpha isn’t expensive when you review the battery model of Growatt Future Series! Growatt is 5kwh while Alpha is 10kwh!

The Future series comes in 6000ES Plus H future, with 4Kw + 4 KW PV input power
and 2 units of 5.5 kwh LFP battery.

My inverter has been functioning fine for the past 3 years and I've only took it out for repair only once till this recent ordeal.

I've a 5kva inverter system so it'll stay at 1% load whenever I do not have any appliance powered on the system but now, it'll just stay at 13% without any load powered on the inverter which is not the way it was before.

And when I switched on my TV and Inverter 1.5hp AC, the load rate will go up high as 25% to 28% and my inverter will be working making a very loud humming sound just like those NEPA transformer make when it has carried load. The sound is very noticeable as the inverter is working and any visitor can easily notice it which is not the way my inverter works before.

This humming sound is different from the sound of the inverter fan as the Inverter fans as working pretty fine as it'll pause for minutes and the fan will start to blow out heat from the inverter which it was designed for.

I'm confused as what could be the reason why my inverter is inducing load of up to 14% when there is no load powered on it and it'll be making that humming sound as if I had NEPA Transformer working on my house?

Aside technical issues, did you confirm if someone might probably be tapping your light?

Think he's talking about MPPT pv input capacity.

Disconnect output wires and see if this load (12-14%) is still there, if it is then inverter may have developed fault. If it magically disappeared, then you may be experiencing some short circuit (live wire touching neutral) or generally fault in the wiring. Check and get back to the house. Cheers.

Thanks for the input boss but the thing is that my inverter can easily take on my Inverter 1.5hp Air Conditioner without making that humming sound, but presently the humming sound will come up so obvious if I switch on my Air Conditioner on it. I'm guessing my inverter is faulty because 28% load is not too much for a 5kva inverter system.

If the load usage was 60% to 70% then I'd have agreed I put too much load or maybe my neighbour tapped from my system as someone suggested then I can easily reduce my load usage per time. Does this still make sense boss?

No boss... I've not confirmed it yet. May have to call on an Electrician to check around.

Back to technical issues. Have you experienced this kind of situation before? What is the possible cause of this kind of issues?

I have not experienced it before. But if I were in your shoes, I will disconnect the wire that connects to all loads directly from the inverter (I.e if you can do it) and be sure there is no connection to it. If your inverter is still showing the 14% load or so, then there is a fault. If it is not, then there something in your wiring that is causing that, probably someone has tapped your light or something else, but an electrician can figure that out for you.

Have you been able to scam anyone with this strange device you are trying to sell?

I have transacted with over 500 people from nairaland, till date, I have been called a scam, because I am not one, if you feel the advert is not meant for you, why don't you act as if you didn't see it? If you are curious about how the appliance works, my phone number is on the advert for you to make further enquiries.

If you now feel the appliance is not meant for someone like you, there are other people that it will be useful For, kindly desist from baseless name calling, Thanks

Oga, there is nothing magical happening here.

Your "device" does not follow the simple laws of physics, therefore it is a scam. No long talk.

Experienced something like this a while back on my old inverter, the idle consumption went up to 3x of the normal wattage while the inverter ran warmer than usual, took it to arena only to discover that it was the output filter capacitor that was the culprit

I was about to say this.
Caps or burden resistors might be culprit if there are no theft

Pls help, this alaba people are really making it difficult to know original products. Between these Felicity 10kwh 48v lfp batteries, which is the original?

jonescosmos(m): 6:47am On Feb 14
Both product models are original casings, one is the old model, the other is the new model. But one thing is at stake when buying from Alaba:

CELLS ARE VERY LIKELY TO HAVE BEEN HARVESTED, DO NOT BUY FROM AN UNAUTHORISED DEALER, EVEN WHEN BUYING FROM UNAUTHORISED DEALER, SHINE YOUR EYES.

You have been warned!!!

Hi house, I'm still on my setup journey. So far I have decided on these for my setup:
- 1 Growatt SPF 5000 TL 5KVA inverter
- 1 Growatt Hope 5.5KW battery (for this I'm also considering getting 4 12V 200A gel batteries instead)
- 6 Jinko 615W Solar s

Any other thing required I think I can trust the installer to procure. Is this going to be able to keep me off-grid?
Appliances it'll run would include a 1.5hp ac, about 3 standing fans, a refrigerator, charging some devices, occasionally (during the day) iron, microwave, air fryer.

Any form of advice will be appreciated.

If u can afford growatt inverter and Jinko s why go for lead acid to power ac, microwave, iron these ones alone will kill those lead acids within 6months. You know the right thing to do ooo but u deliberately chose otherwise. Think!!!

I'll go for the lithium. Another question, do you think it's better to go for transformer inverter with mppt controller or would the hybrid transformerless serve well?

This is the connection between both batteries, they are having 10% batterry disparity. Like one battery is at 85% the other at 75%, and they are both in parallel. Are the dipswitches /connection cable set right?
