In a space of a few months, less than 6 months, this is the 3rd person I'm meeting that got quite comfortable, within a short space from Agricultural and farming.
Leased a land, planted crops, harvested, made money.
It was fairly straightforward.
I know others, but these ones I know from very close, not too far, some I've known many years ago, now they now got better financially. Much much better

It seems the field has a lot of silent millionaires.
If you plan quite well, very thoroughly, you will see your money back come what may, and extra, it seems.
From there, you keep going up
This is what my intuition is telling me.

Others within their network too, similar stories.
Others farming closeby, not far, in same area, same community, same environment, etc.
Even in Agricultural estates.

A lot of northerners have gotten super rich from agriculture. A lot of mallams that left security guard job in my childhood neighbourhood to return to farming in the village went on to become ballers. I don't know how they're faring now with banditry and insurgency.

This is what my intuition is telling me.

Most farmers are naturally thrifty. They sit on millions but won't give anything away to suggest that. They are about one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

When I shut my mouth up was when I encountered a farmer who said he was going to harvest his 80 thousand tubers yam plantation. I opened my mouth in wild surprise. He shot a look at me and told me some farmers plant 250k tubers, some 150k tubers. This they do every planting cycle. Multiply the cost of an average sized tuber by 50k pieces and then you know how much these guys are raking in annually. The funny thing is that they're all very frugal in lifestyle.

I didn't know them personally like that but I knew of the time there was "aboki scarcity" in the area because majority of them have returned to the village to farm and herd cattle. Most of them are from the same area in Kebbi state sontheir family started sending for them to come to farm. Our former mallem was one of those that stayed behind and he said the ones in the village are doing much better than them that remained in Lagos.

The only 2 things in this Nigeria that will make you super rich

Prostitution and Agriculture

Both of them involve digging and planting seed grin cool cool
That is why we call women Hoes because a wet soil is better than a dry soil.
Real farmers love warm and wet soil not those dry sahara pussy

Let me stop for now

Farming is naturally profitable. But just don’t go to areas where you’ll need farming practising licence from Miyetti Allah and the bandits.

Agriculture is the way to go.

A tech bro must eat.
A Doctor must eat.
A lawyer must eat.
A pharmacist must eat.
An engineer must eat.

The beautiful thing about Agriculture in Nigeria now is that we set the price and you have no choice than to purchase it.

If you complain, we say "Tinubu Regime, Fuel Don Cost or Dollar don High" cheesy cheesy

Don't mention me to talk about the ripple effects. I am enjoying it 😀

I like when other professionals who the society applauds are begging me to sell my yams to them like their life depends on it (of course it does 😉).

All those things they do to me in the hospital when I need medication, I do it back to them. I even tell them to get out of they don't want to buy my goods. Lol

Like every other profession, we put in the work when it's time and reap the rewards with time.

Most of us have gone into warehousing, storage and hoarding.

Farming is a very lucrative endeavor all things being equal but it is capital intensive if you want to get good results.

You need to also factor in unforeseen circumstances that can wipe out your entire investments in a twinkle of an eye like natural or man made disasters, like banditry/herdsmen, pests, flood, weather etc.

However, it is good to celebrate the successful ones but let us not forget that there are unsuccessful ones too.

Forget all these nonsense talk.... What crop are they planting??

I have meet many hausas that are farmers that left because of insecurities.... Met many middle belt people who left because of insecurities.... And all have in common is that timing of rain is essentially for certain crops.... Now I ask myself how many hecters of land do this so called rich folks harvest..... What is the demand and supply equation... Don't just put lazy topics and think everyone is gullible....

As if the direct farmers sell at that average cost per tuber!
Sometimes, selling them is even a problem
Na so una dey calculate wrongly to mislead people.

My brothers, try and invest in Nigeria o. Money dey here, dey everywhere! There's a common saying that "wetin dey for Sokoto, dey for shokoto". Everything solely depends on how graceful (as a gift from God) you are and your smart work. Rich or poor, it depends on you, because not everyone abroad will be wealthy and vice versa..

There's a reason why most of the big men in our society are based in Nigeria; our men of God, politicians, entertainers (Burna Boy spent years in the UK before coming back home. Few years later, he ventured into music. If he had remained in the UK, he would have been okay, but not up to the level he is now), business moguls, etc...

We need to revolutionise and make agriculture attractive to young people .

Growing up ,we consider farmers as poor and not a proud job but now we know better .

We should encourage cluster and highly mechanised farming . It's a shame that countries like Ukraine that's in war or very smaller countries like Netherlands are producing more foods than us . Which means that our population is just a liability.

Instead of noveu rich guys to be building filling stations and hotels ,farming should be encouraged.

It's insulting when I see news about hungry Africa kids in western outlets or when they use it as dry jokes in their movies .

And yes ,I've personally diversified into agriculture .

Even in Benue that produces yam.... I have met more farmers that farm for self consumption.... We made order couple of weeks ago.... The transport cost alone to Lagos nearly eroded protected margins.... Now if we reject the yam... What other markets can the Farmer go to.... All these senseless topics
