Come over to the oil and gas sector ir maritime sector then, you'll see those earning way more than that...
Entry level jobs in Shell, Chevron or Total make abt 5m monthly in salary and allowances depending on your job role. In Local oild companies, you can be sure of about 2m as entry level...

In the drilling sector, we have those we call Directional Drillers... For everyday they spend on the rig, the least of them is paid 300k to 500k daily. While the top ones can earn up to a thousand dollars daily.

Guess what, it takes at least 1 month to finish drilling a oil well... Some get to drill like 7 to 10 months in a year. Do the maths!!!

For field Engineers who we call LWD and MWD engineers, they make between 80k to 350k daily depending on their level and they spend a month on the rig before been crew changed.

Schlumberger is recruiting... Try to apply there and trust me, your salary can't be less than 1.7m for entry level. So, imagine those that have 10years experience in such field.

Can I you, Boss?
I have a degree in Chemical Engineering.

Good salary is relative, it depends on the person in question. Someone with no good skill can't dream past 100k while 1m to some doesn't complement the value they can give.

There's no such thing as good salary. It's your lifestyle that determines it.

Depends on location. 300k will be a decent/good salary in Ogun state.

na wa, bro Schlumberger does not even pay 1m for entry level, haba fear God na, una too do

You may be right though.

This is as a result of the corruption in recruitment system. Most of these foreign oil firm pay THEIR EMPLOYEE/STAFF the USD/EURO equivalent in Nigeria but guess what, the ogas at the top are not happy that ordinary Nigerian are making such money so they device their own means to collect the money.

This is where a recruitment firm (owned by the cabals/ogas who run things there) come in. They will make sure that the recruitment process is been handled by any firm they have underground interest in and these recruitment firm would stand in the gap & negotiate your pay with meaning you have no direct dealings with the foreign firm.

Now as the man in the middle doing the "tedious" recruitment and handling sometimes negotiate between the foreign firm and host communities, they are been paid the foreign exchange equivalent while they inturn pay the workers the peanut which you might be referring to but they give their own relatives direct recruitment with the foreign firms.

This is why you will always hear CONTRACT & NON CONTRACT STAFF. Do you know this implies even in the banking sector.

Salary is not based on economy, Salary is based on level of experience and skill. For me, it would be 350k - N500k angry

Salary is also based on Economy dumbo. People like you are why Nigeria suffer because we can’t demand for better in one voice.

There is a reason someone with same skillset as you or even less will be working for the same multinational and they will pay the person in US $4,000/month and pay you $750 per month. Have brain.

You can give your experience without been insultive as I believe the essence of this question is for educative purpose.

You worked at TOTAL as what?

How much is 5m in USD/EURO?

Do you know working offshore especially on the rig is not for everyone cos of the skills, experience & risk involved?

Do you know "the government" even though they seem not to care knows what those who do same job overseas are been paid?

Are you now saying other foreigner that work offshore earn less that 5m in USD equivalent?

Pls enlighten me cos I really want to hear from you cos have worked in TOTAL.

You should try to be civil in your utterances. You can always get your points across without insults. There is no reason for us to behave like we are uncultured.
