Good morning all. Is it safe to put my baby to sleep on his tummy at night? I read online that it is risky and increases the chances of suffocation and sids
|
juola(f): 9:54am On Jan 25 |
adibo:It is not. Tummy time should be closely monitored during day time |

juola: I mean at night. My hubby seems to believe that sleeping on his tummy makes him sleep deeper and reduces the chance of him waking up few minutes after putting him down |
juola(f): 8:05pm On Jan 25 |
adibo:It is only allowed during daytime |

adibo: I won't lie to you. I used to put mine down with tummy at night when I was frustrated with lack of sleep those days. At least he will sleep for like 2 hours or more that way. Lols But please make sure you don't put him down with baby pillow or whatever so he/she can lie flat and the nostrils will be free. Also to keep the head one side. Lack of sleep can be so terrible for new mothers. Sorry dear |

Honeysweetest: If last period is November...then your edd should be August I think....mine is October and my edd is July by God's grace. 4 Likes |

missviva: Kpele....massaging breast will increase contractions. But if you are late like your edd has ed by a day or so,you can try small castor oil. Also have heard walking the stairs can help! Wishing you a safe delivery! 1 Like |

Hey mamas Happy new year I want to rant I really need relief I had my 2nd daughter in 2018 via emergency CS but due to the trauma myself and my hubby decided to take time to heal It's been 6 years and I think abi we are supposed to be ready to try one more time but it appears Oga nor want again Mr man loves doing the do but he helps me track ovulation no thanks to the FLO app on my phone. Once he knows I'm ovulating he will dodge. How else can I sit him down and talk to him that this may be the most successful preggie and delivery we will have. I'm thinking it's not about the previous delivery again but I don't know his reasons. I really long for another baby ![]() |

BS. This third pregnancy was the most difficult if my pregnancies. On the 24th December 2024 I woke up in high spirits because it was my DH's birthday and the children and I had plans to surprise him. He planned to go to the market to shop clothes ahead of a new work year while I wanted to dash to the hospital for a scan the doctor requested on my last antenatal appointment against the next one which fell on the 1st of but would be shifted till the 8th . We had earlier gone to the hospital at 5:30 so I could get a spot at the scan unit. After breakfast I settled the children and assured them I'd be back soon and even told hubby I'd return before him because hospital is just around the corner. I got to the hospital and everything was good until it was my turn and the Sonographer kept staring at the screen and asking me all sorts of questions. "Are you being managed for diabetes, high blood pressure, or any other condition"? I repeatedly replied in the negative. "What's your occupation?" I said I was a teacher and she went on about how I "always shouted àbí" and the next thing she said was I might want to show them the results at the emergency room just to be certain everything is fine and alarm bells began to ring in my head! I branched at the antenatal unit to show one of the nurses (Nurse Jegede) the result and she called out to the matron. They asked me to head to the emergency unit. Nurse Jegede handed me over to the team on call and left. My vitals were done and I was told to lie on my left side. I tried to consult Dr Google while at it and what I read about Fetal Tachycardia wasn't enough to get me scared yet. It was around noon then and I was getting impatient because the children were alone at home. I started chatting my husband to find out if he was home already and he responded in the positive,I told him I'd be home soon because I was just being observed for a while and didn't think it was anything serious. After lying there for what seemed like a lifetime I requested the Dr's audience and she came over. We spoke about what was happening and after she asked how far along I was,she said I would be allowed to go home but I should rest properly but she wanted her consultant to see me. While waiting for the consultant I realized I'd made an error, I'd told her I was 36 weeks 4 days instead of 37 weeks 4 days and informed the doctor. She said "Madam, this new information changes everything" and went to get the consultant. She came back to attend to some other patients and it felt like I was abandoned and I called for her again. She went on to ask for my occupation and I told her after which she said her consultant asked her to counsel me before he came as they needed to explain everything going on. After we discussed she asked if my husband was close by and requested his audience and I told her not to worry,I'd handle it. I called baba and explained that baby was in distress and told him to drop the kids at his brothers' and come with my hospital bag. He arrived at around two pm and the consultant spoke with us and it was unanimously agreed that baby had to be out ASAP. A call was made to the theatre and hubby went to get the theatre pack while I was shaved and had a catheter inserted. He was asked to take my blood sample to the lab for PCV test and it was 24%. Dr Onigbanjo called the consultant and it was decided that I should be transfused with a pint of blood and go into the theatre with another, latest by evening. The transfusion went into late in the night and they decided to wait for some hours to allow for blood circulation to reduce blood loss. I was scheduled to go into the theatre at 6:00 am on the 25th December but while I was having my bath a more severe case was brought in and I waited at the theatre entrance and gisted with hubby and even received gifts from some people on outreach. At about 11:00 am I was wheeled into the theatre and within minutes I heard my baby cry. I was cleaned up,i thanked the doctors and was wheeled out to the post surgical ward.... And that,my dears, was how I had my Christmas baby. Tankiyu. BA submitted, January Cappo take note. 34 Likes |
